Accurate Heating

I called Accurate Heating to repair a malfunctioning furnace in January. Since Accurate Heating is located less than 10 min drive from my house, I thought it would be a good idea to support business in the community. Big Mistake!
The technician arrived on time, and quickly found the problem and replaced a broken part, which they claimed would cost $ 120 (Very small piece of metal, if the part were made of silver it would still cost less than $ 120. But I do understand they have to make money from the parts, so I was OK with it). The whole process took less than 20 minutes, can you guess how much they charged me? $ 500! Put it in another way, they charged me a labor cost of $ 380 for about 30 minutes’ service (including the time to drive from their company to my house). That translates to a hourly rate of $ 760! How much do you make per hour?
The technician could not explain the cost to me, so he put me on the phone and let me talked to a lady in the office, named Kim Williams. I was not sure if Ms. Williams was having a bad day that day, but she essentially told me that she would not explain the labor cost to me, and if I didn’t pay immediately, she would sue me. Her litigation threat came within the first 2 minutes of our conversation. I was truly surprised because I was simply asking for some justification of this $ 760 per hour labor cost.
Since the lady in the office didn’t want to talk to me, I though the manager may be more willing to let me know why their service is so expensive. I filed BBB claim against Accurate Heating, asked the question again: Why the $ 760 per hour labor cost? In the response, Accurate Heating made a lot of assertions and threats but chose to evade my simple question. I asked them again and no response from them any more. Eventually BBB ruled the case in favor of me, and my complaint went into their business record.
Right now I am contacting lawyers and preparing to sue Accurate Heating. Their technician is actually quite capable, but if you plan to do business with them, you got to make sure your pocket is deep enough, and you have some lawyer friends, because accurate heating will charge you a outrageous labor cost. If you failed to pay the amount they wanted immediately, they will threat to sue you. The arrogance and aggressiveness of this company is beyond my imagination. The litigation preparation process is quite time consuming, and could potentially cost more than the amount Accurate Heating coerced me, but I plan to pursue the litigation as a response to their horrible attitude.

What a great experience! They were on time and very professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I was very happy with the cost and felt they were honest about the repairs needed.

RESCUED me! Accurate heating installed a new furnace in one day when my old oil furnace went out in the dead of winter! The service was amazing, they didn’t leave any mess behind, and in general, completely impressed me!!! Thank you again for great work. Its time for my service and I am calling them again.
