My fiancée and I had a great stay here this past fall. Jack was super helpful with local places to check out and cooked awesome breakfasts. The room was cozy and had its own bathroom. Look forward to staying here again.

What a darling little find this place is. It’s just adorable and the Innkeeper Jack is awesome. Very accommodating. The breakfasts were lovely. We will be back when we need another break!

Jack is a wonderful host and an amazing cook! We stayed here about a year ago but never thought about giving the place a Unilocal review(we did review on bnb.) The location is close to all hiking, wineries, and a local Main street. Very quaint bnb. We were lucky to get the room with the skylight. Very, very nice spot for a romantic weekend getaway.

Lovely B and B. We sat in the garden and then moved to the sun porch. Happy hour was our choice of a red or a white from a local winery. The living room was comfortable for an after dinner chat with our party of four. The rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was hearty. Jack is an excellent host. And we enjoyed Willie, the friendliest dog I have ever met. The place is spotless. The advice about tourist spots and directions were great. We hope to visit again.

Jack and Rich are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our stay and loved our room(the Blue Moon Suite). Everything was comfortable and all of our needs were met with grace and charm. :) Breakfasts were fresh and delicious, sometimes prepared with ingredients grown in the backyard garden. They prepared us excellently for all of the hiking we did in various parks and gorges. Things I especially like about the Black Walnut: it was right in the middle of nearly all of our daily activities(30 minutes or less to get to most of the parks and restaurants we had decided to go to). It’s a well kept historic farmhouse and a beautiful home. Willy(we loved your pup and wanted to take him home). It’s relatively inexpensive compared to most of the Inns and B & B’s in Ithaca. The little dish of Lindt chocolates that was refreshed daily(thank you!) Sometimes it’s the little things…

The Black Walnut recently came onto the finger lakes scene in the Fall of 2010. I was recommended to come here from another B&B that was already booked and I was pleasantly surprised. The Black Walnut has 4 different rooms that vary in size and price. Each room is equipped with their own bath, and Direct TV. As nice as the individual room TV was, I felt it took away from the peaceful, calming atmosphere that a B&B should be. The front door opens to a large kitchen that had some throw back appliances in it. A closed porch was off of the kitchen that would be great on a summer evening. Then there is a rather large room off the other side of the kitchen that completes the B&B. A dining table and a few great reading chairs. This is where we spent the majority of the evening after dinner. We stayed in the Keuka room that was the on the low end of the options, but it was pretty accommodating except for the fact of the shower inside the actual room. Jack Moore is a fabulous man that we got to enjoy all by ourselves! No one else booked the B&B that night, so it was very intimate! Jack made us breakfast in the morning of pancakes, bacon and a bowl of fruit. It was a wonderful experience at Black Walnut, and it’s prime location is just down the road from Americana Winery and also Trumansburg is close by as well. I would recommend here to any traveler of the finger lakes. Why only 4 stars then? Having compared this to my other finger lakes B&B experience, it’s a solid 4 stars.
