We regularly order pizza to go. We like to change it up and order elsewhere once in awhile and always regret it. Best pizza in town. It reheats as good if not better than fresh out of the oven. Crisp crust and yet the top is not dry. Toppings are fresh. The chicken tenders are made in house and are amazing. By BF likes to pick it up and have a drink at the bar. Great bartenders and service is fantastic if you eat in house!!!

Awesome pizza. Very accommodating if you’re someone who places annoying orders and makes stupid requests like me. Great service! Great bartenders This place is a Troy staple in my opinion.

Really? Friday night, out of the appetizer we want, they don’t include hard boiled egg in a chef salad but they do in the Cobb salad but can’t put egg in mine. Annoyed and deciding to just get chicken parm and Nothing comes with it. No salad? For $ 14.00 there is no salad. VERYDISSAPOINTINGPLACE.

My second visit to Notty Pine Tavern did not disappoint. Service was great as it was before and the food came out hot and fast. Based on my prior experience, I now knew to skip the mozzarella sticks and melba, anything chicken parm, and the lackluster medium wings. So here are my suggestions: Wings — order them hot and crispy. On this most recent trip, Notty Pine’s wings were some of the best I have had in the area. This is high praise as good wings abound here. Pizza — meatball and onions. A classic combo that is done well here. The corner slices are delectable. And go big or go home — order a large pie. Beer — Goose Island IPA. A tasty paring to the the fatty, greasy, cheesy goodness. So, yeah, I am a now a big fan of this Troy Tavern institution.

Stopped here for lunch during our drive from NYC to Stratton, VT. Excellent, friendly service. We had the Irish nachos and a pizza. Delicious on all accounts. We sat up front in the cozy bar area and eavesdropped on the locals sitting at the bar. In the future I wouldn’t hesitate to stop here for a bite to eat. 1 chocolate milk, 1 beer, nachos and a large pizza totaled $ 33. Can’t beat that!

We arrived there on a Saturday night around 6PM with a party of 10. There is a small bar in the front with a dining room out the back. Parking is available on the street. The staff was friendly and rearranged tables to seat our larger group. The service was prompt, the food was plentiful and the drinks were regularly topped off. Our group was very happy. Everything we had on the menu was as per your favorite Italian-based pub venue. Try the basket of sweet potato fries. They are very tasty. Overall, we would all go there again.

Ordered pizza for delivery for the office and the service was wonderful! The pizza was very good as well, you can tell its a family owned place(I think). We ordered mild medium and hot wings and everyone kept saying they couldn’t really tell much difference between the 3. I definitely will order again or eat-in, I want to try more food and the BBQ wings!

Came here while visiting Troy for a basketball tournament. A friendly, old school. neighborhood bar atmosphere. Lots of happy, friendly people at the bar and serving. It’s easy to feel at home here. Servers here were very friendly and attentive. The overall atmosphere is a real plus. It feels like you’ve been a loyal customer for years. We ordered a meatball sandwich and a cheese pizza. The meatball sandwich was a generous size, but not too big. Smothered in a slightly salty mozzarella and oven toasted. The bread, despite being toasted, did not disintegrate and crumble into a big mess. It stayed chewy and satisfying. The meatballs were home made and tasty. The sauce was fairly nondescript, but not unappealing either. The small pizza was small. Just enough for one person. The crust was a highlight. Medium thick, soft, airy and chewy. Sauce and cheese were tasty but nothing out of bounds. It was a solid, tasty pizza with a really good crust. Chocolate cream pie for dessert. Really fantastic. Seemed home made from the light, tasty whipped cream to the delicious, substantial filling to the great crust. You really should not skip dessert.

Some pizzas are toppings driven and others are better on their own. At the Notty Pine the simple cheese pie was the best of the bunch(which included a pepperoni, a sausage, and a chicken parm). The service here was fantastic. There were a few problems we encountered throughout the night. — Trouble with our reservation for a large party of 10 — Beer coming out of the tap extra foamy and not filling pitchers — A miscommunication on a pizza topping(which may have been my fault) But each of those problems was met with caring, and attentive responses. It was really kind of incredible. In fact, it’s the service that gives this place the extra star. Because the food is really just a three star affair. The cheese pizza is fine. But I agree with Josh K. that the wings need to be crispier, the melba sauce should be swapped out to something that more closely resembles raspberries than a sno-cone topping, and the breading on the mozzarella sticks themselves could use a little work to eliminate its internal gumminess. There may also be some other gems on the menu that we didn’t try. And that’s the thing with classic taverns. Sometimes it’s about knowing what to order and where. When the weather cools down again, I’m hoping to make it back for the soup. Because that sounds promising. As Troy grows and more current dining options open, it’s more important than ever to hold on to some of the traditions that have been a part of this city for generations. And also to embrace places that can still bring in a wide cross section of the community. I’ll be back. Next time I“ll know to skip the pizza toppings and avoid the mozzarella sticks.

I used to eat here all the time when I was a student in the area. Was back in town for a game and stopped in, 15 years and it could have been yesterday. The cheese fries are amazing. The pizza is square, about halfway between a thick and thin crust, and a large is good for 3 people.

I loved my chicken tenders. The fries were amazing. as well. They’re the right combination of crispy and golden brown. The chicken tenders are lightly breaded and fried, which is just perfect. They’re not greasy or anything. However, my boyfriend had the veal parmesean and said it was average. It came with a side salad and bread, but it was nothing spectacular. Oh, chili nachos were decent. Nothing special, but not horrible.

The pizza by far is consistent. The pasta fagioli is by far what has put this institution on the map. Best in Troy! Best in capital region really. This is what a hometown pizza joint is all about. You have regular guys like me, rubbing elbows with the upper echelon of Troy and getting along. I think that’s part of the allure of a local place that does it right each and every time. All you need to do is pizza and pasta fagioli.

The Notty Pine is one the most friendly, reliable spots in Troy. I live in the neighborhood and when my Husband and I are considering where to get a quick, easy, and delicious meal, it’s a no brainer to go to the Pine. Whether it’s take out or dining in, it’s always been a good experience. Their menu provides a nice variety, so we can always find something to fit what we’re both craving. Everything from their hot sandwiches and burgers to pizza and chicken parm is delicious. For an app: have the loaded Irish nachos! In addition to the food, the staff is always extremely polite and attentive.

I’m a big fan of this restaurant/tavern! Good food and decent portions. The pizza is a little small but outstanding with the flavor it packs. Decent prices and if you go on a weekend afternoon it’s a nice place to take your family. Family of five and everyone ordered adult meals; sodas all around and an adult had two beers for a check and tip under $ 100. Server was kind and helpful. All and all a great experience. We will go back to this establishment.

I’ve heard some good things about this place so I figured I’d give it a shot. I ordered a Large pizza and an order of garlic parm wings to pick up. When I asked the price on the phone, the guy told me $ 20.40 plus tax. I’m pretty good at math and I figured it out for myself pretty quickly but I think it would be nice of them to give you the real total, with tax included. When I got there, there were quite a few people catching a buzz in the very small bar area. Seemed like a pretty nice place overall. I didn’t notice anything overly dirty or gross. There was a dining room area in the back but I didn’t get a chance to check it out. The only real complaint I have is the portion size. The guy handed me a box of pizza with a bag of wings on top. I was very surprised at how light it felt. So much so that as soon as I got in my car I opened up the box just to make sure that there was in fact a pizza in there. For a Large pizza, it was anything but. Inside the box I found a square pizza with 8 small slices. I didn’t check the wings until I got home. Though small, the pizza was delicious. Same thing with the wings. They were VERYGOOD but I kept thinking about the 5 baby chicks that must have been killed in order for me and my girlfriend to enjoy these 10 itsy bitsy wingies. All in all it was pretty good. I’m just glad we ordered pizza AND wings instead of just one or the other. I will def order from here again but next time, I know to order more food.

What a pleasant surprise! Went here to meet some very dear friends and had a delightful experience. The bartender was really friendly and poured a great Guinness. As I was waiting for my friends at the bar, I noticed a number of dishes leave the kitchen to find their way to a customer’s table. Every one of the meals looked perfect and the aroma coming from them was killing me. I was getting hungry. The meals we all had were perfect. I believe you could order anything on this menu and be satisfied. The next time I find myself in Troy, I’m heading to the Notty Pine. Well worth it.

the pine let me down last night! For close to $ 14 for a pizza(just peperoni nothing fancy) the Pine was a disappointment. There are so many chooses for pizza in the RPI neighborhood that to be in business this long you would think they are doing something right. Not last night. The crust was tough the sauce what little they could spare was tasteless. Not a good effort for a very basic pizza staple in town with some great pie. The pine will not get my hard earned cash again!
