Food portions were good, take out sushi made to order, Wonton soup was OK I’ve had better, spring rolls weren’t good. We ordered dinner combo sweet and sour chicken and sessame chicken, tempura shrimp roll sushi, spring rolls and Winton soup.

I used to love this place. They had a woman working there who was very friendly and the food was always great. Now there are two men there, the food is mediocre and they can’t understand English well so the orders aren’t always right. I gave them a couple of chances but I am done with them.

It has been about 4 years but I am offended to see the overall reviews were 3 stars. The fried rice was atrocious as others have stated and the orange chicken was bad. I never throw my leftovers away but this was an exception. I have never been back. I hope for their sake that they’ve made changes

Thought I’d check it for take out. Only thing really good is the service, very very nice. Fried rice was terrible… Was whiterice smothered in soy souce for color no flavor at all. Ordered orange chicken which looked decent but tasted bland. Really disappointed was hoping to make this my usual lunchspot for Chinese take out.

Nice people, polite (asked how I was doing) (heard the clerk say «excuse me, sorry» when she interrupted someone to give me my food), lightning fast cooking! Food was tasty and lunch combo is only $ 5.99!

Large portions, but thats about it. Hot and sour soup had a gammy cihcken smell and taste, fried rice was not what fried rice should be.

I have ordered from China Gourmet three times — and all three times I was pleased. I’ve had sesame chicken, almond chicken and general’s chicken — all are good! Everything was cooked fresh to order and the fried rice is really flavorful.
I will say, that if I had one complaint, I’d say the almond chicken itself may have been fried too quickly — some pieces the breading isn’t cooked all the way through. But it’s moist and crispy every time.

I eat out every single day, and have tried all the restaurants in Troy. One of my favorites is China Gourmet of Troy. They are definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Troy. It is a small carry out place with a very clean and warm environment. The staff is always very friendly. They also have delicous Thai entrees too. My favorite is the Pad Thai and Sesame chicken. It is always fresh and sooo yummy! I could eat there every day. And this Janelle P gail, she obviously has no taste or she doesn’t eat out much. Her review on China Gourmet is all lies. I invite everyone to try it for themselves and you will see what I mean. China Gourmet is the best!!!
