I travel quite a bit on 1 – 95 from New York to Fl at all times of the year. Had driven 500 miles, stopped at Quality Inn Troutville expecting nice room for $ 93.00. Was told this was last available room, and was for handicapped. Room smelled so bad that I woke up several times during night to terrible odor. I was sickened by offensive smell. Room was expensive, and I will never stay here again

One of the nicer Quality Inns I have been to recently. We are choice members & mostly satisfied with Quality Inns but this place was one of the better cared for ones. Even breakfast had more to offer then most. Staff also very pleasant when asked for restaurant recommendation, Angelles Diner was very good choice. The gumbo was excellent.

A pleasant surprise at a chain hotel. I have never stayed at a Quality Inn before, but if this is representative of the chain, I will certainly start. The room was as clean and had as many amenities as much more expensive chains that I’ve stayed at. The area is nice and quiet at night, and breakfast was a hearty buffet served with pride by the pleasant staff at the hotel.

Absolute delight. Snow storm on our way south… Stopped and got the green coupon rate. Room was toasty warm with no odors. Free wifi and great hot breakfasts. Entire motel was spotless-lobby, dining room, halls and guest bedroom. Easy access off interstate.

We were diverted to this hotel when our reservation was lost at another place and it was a very pleasant surprise. Our room was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room had a fridge and microwave and a small table with two chairs. The staff was friendly and helpful and though the breakfast was typical, there were healthy options including fruit, plain oatmeal, and boiled eggs. The breakfast attendant went out of her way to accommodate the special needs of guests. The outdoor pool looked clean and inviting, but we did not swim. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Recently stayed here in conjunction with a family member who is hiking the Appalachian Trail … who needed to come off the trail for foot problems. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with UVa’s graduation weekend and most places in town were full. What happened … was price gouging! All the hotels(including this one) that normally offered rooms at a Hiker discount of $ 50 … were suddenly $ 110! Since we had to stay there for three days … unplanned for expenses resulted. Sure, an extra $ 150 won’t break the bank, but the opportunistic price gouging is kind of smarmy. We did get breakfast associated with our stay, and the lodging was so superior to the last(nightmare) place we stayed in Pearisburg, that I had to give this place more than one star. But management attitudes(and opportunistic pricing) count for a lot. If you ever stay here, negotiate your price carefully and in advance. Best warning I can give you.
