Nail Studio 609

I recently moved to Piscataway and had been trying to find a good nail salon in the area. I hadn’t been totally satisfied, so yesterday I went to Nail Studio 609, which is across the street from my office (in Hamilton/​Trenton). I wanted a gel manicure, and I LOVED my experience. I didn’t have an appointment, and I went just prior to lunchtime, and waited less than 10 minutes. The techs were all chatty and kind, and I felt comfortable the whole time (not awkward as it sometimes can be). John did my Gel manicure, and he was nice, fun, and most importantly did an amazing job on my nails. They had a ton of colors to choose from, and the sample nails are on popsicle sticks in buckets, which made the choosing just a little difficult, but that’s not a big deal. The whole thing was done in about 35 minutes, for $ 25 (less than the place by my house!). I have an hour lunch break so the fact that this was so quick and inexpensive (plus the fact that my nails look amazing) sealed the deal. I will most definitely be returning on another lunch break! I will probably post another update in a couple weeks regarding how my nails hold up.

It was ok for a quick pedicure while I was waiting for my friend to get her nails done. The people who own this place and work here are very nice and friendly. The place inside looks a little old and run down. The décor, if you could call it that, is nothing special. The water for my feet to soak in was warm but not hot so, that was disappointing. They said it was because it was the end of the day. I was the last pedicure customer for the night on a Tuesday at 6:40. The guy who did my pedi was very nice. He did an ok job of filing, trimming my cuticles, etc. The foot rub and polish job were «eh». The worker vacuuming the place, along with the TV blasting some teenage movie on the Disney channel, did not exactly add to my sense of relaxation! I finally asked the owner to turn it off since no one was watching it and she did. My regular pedicure was $ 25 and I tipped him $ 5. Would I go back? Doubtful. It wasn’t terrible, but I can spend a few more dollars and get a really good pedicure at a nicer place, so I will do just that!

I had my eyelashes done here and I am so happy. I had them done at another local place and they were so ugly and I had black glue all over my eye lid! The owner helped me get all that off and then applied a new beautiful set. Everyone was very friendly and I was very comfortable. The lash technician is certified and very skilled. The lashes came out so natural and pretty no one can tell they are extensions. The nail salon part was packed with appointments– which means I’ll need to try that when I go for my lash fill. Very clean and extremely friendly and helpful.
