The chicken is the best ever. Cooked on a grill over a hardwood fire. How can it get any better than that. Oh yes, it’s a rundown shack. The food is just too good to pass by. Took my wife there this summer. She was hesitant and then she tasted the food.

Just amazing. Old photos of Villa and Zapata on the walls. Chicken slowly cooking on the large, wood-fired grill out front. Homemade tortillas done right before your eyes. Staff is friendly and helpful. As much an experience as simply a great meal. The ribs were good and my wife went crazy over the trompa(pig snout) tacos, but it is the chicken that really shines: tender, juicy and smokey, with perfectly charred skin. The homemade fruit drinks were also great(especially the strawberry). Watch out for the salsa fresca that comes with the platos — it packs a serious punch!

Autentico! Looks like a taco truck broke down at a junk yard and great food came out. You place your order and then scoop your own Horchata out of the big jar. The meat is delicious and you add your own veggies to the tacos. Well worth the stop if you are a little adventerous. Make sure to check out the big wood fired grill out front.

Do NOT let the exterior(or the interior, once you get inside) deter you from stopping here. Some of the best BBQ and Mexican food that you can get. I had the rib plate and some side tacos. Very tasty. The rest of the family had tacos and burritos, and they were all very tasty. Walking by the massive grill out side loaded with chicken as we left makes me want to go back.

Wow and yummy! Great food and prices. I still come here whenever I am starving and want something delicious. For exactly 8 dollars you get 8 flavorful tacos, satisfied taste buds, and a full belly. My usual pick is 4 carne adobada tacos and 4 chicken tacos. They also have a wide variety of other taco options for a dollar as well as tripe and lengua(beef tongue) tacos but these are a few cents extra. Again try this place it’s delicious and sure beats the heck out of the McDonald further down the road.

Don’t be fooled by the outside of this shack some of the best chicken I’ve ever eaten has come off of their massive charcoal grill. Yes roadside chicken at it’s finest. About $ 5 will buy you a massive plate of fresh off the charcoal grill chicken beans, rice, salad and fresh homemade tortillas. They have ribs and some limited other menu items but they keep it simple to what they do best. They have a fresh salsa bar and Mexican and the other standard sodas. I like bringing new people there and watching their reaction like«were not eating here are we?» then they get the food and they are hooked for life. Please keep this place a secret I don’t want to ruin a good thing.

So you’re sipping some great wines in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA, but that rumble in your tummy is getting louder. Where to go? It might not seem like Mexican food mixes with good wine, but I beg to differ. Local wines with what now is local food. And nothing better than some great BBQ. So drive down the hill to Toppenish and come to Panchos, but don’t drive by it, since it’s literally a shack(not a taco cart). You’ll see the smoke coming up from the outdoor wood fired grill filled with chicken and ribs. Smokin’ good ribs and chicken, pun intended. Get a BBQ plate with their homemade beans and rice to fill your tummy; don’t forget to visit the chilled case for salsas for the top of that BBQ. Like spicy, ask for the grilled jalapeño. Add some tacos to the side for some extra yum.
