We have always been a big fan of Portillos in Tinley Park, the word«Yum» always comes to mind, but our last visit was gross. The fries were burnt, the hot dogs were tough to bite(ewe), as if they used last nights foods, and the cokes tasted watered down. What’s up with that! I’m hoping its not a trend based on the recent sale of Portillos to someone else…

The atmphosphere is very very cool! Burgers are fantastic! They can work on some customer service skill. Some of the staff is not very professional! They need to watch what they talk about when customers are in the drive-thru.

There’s a reason that there is always a long line. Even their salads are great!

Hard to go wrong @ Portillo’s. Dogs, Burgers, Beef, *drooling* The lines are long for a REASON, people!!!

This used to be my favorite place for Italian beef. The last sandwich I had from them appeared to be larger, and the beef contained less flavor. I am disappointed.

This location is a zoo and it just keeps getting worse. Probably over the past 6 – 8 months, they’ve just been unable to manage the crowds so when you order and pay you walk down to pick up your food and there is always like 10 – 20 people already waiting for their order. It is really loud, the drive through is always backed up and it resembles an utter state of chaos every time I’ve been in there lately. I still love their fries, chocolate cake but you can get those at any location.

All I can say is that I looovvvee Portillo’s. I miss not having one near me in South Bend. I always have to go back to Chicago and visit to get it. I love the cheesy croissant! YUMMY!!!

I had to deliver lunch to six super hungry people today on short notice. They requested Portillo’s, and I quickly pulled into this convenient location at lunch time. The line was long, but the this place keeps things moving! I was greeted politely by one of those brave folks who meets you at your window in the drive thru. He was really quite awesome. He even reminded me to use my $ 5.00 off coupon which I almost forgot to use. Those lane directing, food order taking, any weather smiling helpful people in that drive thru there are super heroes. My stomach was growling the entire ride to deliver the fries, cheese dogs, and Italian beef. The food here is delicious, consistent in taste and value, worth the moderate high blood pressure it might induce. One of these days I’m gonna get the chocolate layer cake, the big one!

What is up with everyone loving portillos? It’s all junk food to me. I think it’s nothing special and wouldn’t wait in that long drive thru line they always have. I’m just not a fan of OK hot dogs and ok beef sandwiches.

I like their hotdog and the Italian beef is great too. Both are amazing with the hot peppers !!! I love their burger, it’s big and juicy and just simply delicious!!! Yum ! Not crazy about their milkshake. The chocolate cake is kinda dry and spongy too. Drive thru could take about from 10 – 20 minutes

This spot was super cool inside with the atmosphere, mood, and total environment. The service was quick and nice. The things that bother me about my experience though are the fact of how greasy the food was and which ultimately ended in my to go bag ripping. Never happened to me with a fast food bag before. Aside from that the croissant for my beef and cheddar was as moist as I imagine being possible. I had to throw most of the sandwich away. The good parts were the garlic breadsticks and the chili cheese hot dogs. Delicious! Would go again, but maybe eat there so I don’t deal with the grease issue hopefully.

Oh Portillio’s how I’ve missed thee! The food is pretty consistent but I can’t say the same for the service. I was annoyed by the lack of urgency by the drive-thru employees. When I pulled up the window for my food the employees were chatting & goofing off. Clearly, I had the look of confusion on my face as to why see had my bag of food in her hand but not handing it to me because she was deep in conversation because another employee inside said«she’s waiting for her food!» Then she handed it to me. If you go to Portillio’s you must get a slice of Chocolate Cake! It’s so yummy! Also, one of my favorites is the crispy chicken croissant… so good!

The food is great. I love the food so much at one point I came here everyday… But I don’t know what is wrong with your salad bar, but every other time I get a salad they always forget something. Either its the croutons, the salad dressing, or something else, and they always forget it when I take it to go. How is it the most BUSY area where they do fries, hot dogs, and the rest of your food can never mess up my order… But the SLOWEST area takes forever and mess up. No joke when I tell you I came here with friends and they all got their hotdogs, burgers, and food before I did… And I was the only person there for a salad(no other customer was waiting for a salad) why did it take so long for ONE salad. Because the two doing the salad bar were talking. You can talk and make a salad at the same time.

Portillos has what they do down to a science. They are hands down the most efficient restaurant I have ever been to. This location is always busy, no matter the time, no matter the day, yet they always get your food out fast, and with a smile. It’s always busy because their food is delightfully tasty and the environment is like no other. I almost always get the Italian beef sandwich, but have also tried some of their salads. No matter what I order, I am never disappointed.

The ribs are not very good. They are baked in tinfoil and the meat is soft but not in a good way. I wont be coming back to this place. if i do i will be trying a hot dog.

I’m not from the ‘burbs, so my first time at Portillo’s was a magical one. I made the mistake of ordering a salad the first time I went. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but not compared to my boyfriend’s italian beef. So THIS time, I got the italian beef, fries, and the cake shake. I ordered hot peppers with my beef and it gave it a flamin’ kick. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. GOGETTHECHOCOLATECAKESHAKE. My friend suggested it to me and it’s absolutely life changing. The drive through is long, so I would recommend going inside. I think it would almost be faster.

Good food and very filling, however nothing that really blew me away. Friendly service too. It’s kind of an odd atmosphere, but if your sole worry is the food quality, nothing to worry about. Even my friend Pat who is always hungry was stuffed when we left there. He pointed out there weren’t free refills which was disappointing. Not too pricy however. Overall, I recommend this place.

This place is good at what it does! For fast food and at a really reasonable price, this place is solid. The environment is fun and easy, the service is fast, the food is good. I got a Hot Dog with everything. It’s a good dog. There was a mom and pop hot dog stand run by the owner in the SW burbs where I grew up that had better, in my opinion, including big chunks of tomato and mustard, which I liked. Portillo’s steamed bun is a nice touch that the mom and pop stand didn’t have though, so props Portillo’s, good move. I also got the beef sandwich, which had grilled peppers on it as well. The French bread was soaked in a’jus and was very tasty! I would order it again in a heartbeat. My mom tried a little and thought about going back and ordering one!

Hawt-Diggity-Dawg! It’s a rare gem for me to Unilocal about a fast-food joint where I heart prac everything on the menu so huddle up! I’ve been goin’ to Portillo’s a lot longer than I’ve Unilocaled but it’s still my all-around, fave, fast-food joint in the SW burbs o’Chicago. I can vouch for just about everything on the menu & its pretty extensive. Portillo’s serves up everything from of course my fave traditional, Chicago-style hot dogs in a steamed poppy-seed bun with all the trimmings; to a mean cheeseburger deluxe; to a gemmy, char-grilled, chicky ricky sammie; fishie samz; a selection o’fresh, healthy, hearty salads; killa, crinkle-cut fries; bomb-ass chocolate cake & in shake form too if ya prefer it iced & last but not least the best beef sammie on the SW side o’Chi-town! If ya want the #meat-sweats make it a combo aka beef & char-grilled Italian sausage. Oh almost forgot, grab a bib & try some ribs, not too bad ribby gemz! Basically there’s about everything but the kitchen sink offered at Portillo’s but unlike some fast-food joints that offers a rainbow o’choices, Portillo’s succeeds in servin’ up really good everything while still maintainin’ its flagship foods aka da beef & hotdogs. When I’m cravin’ a beef sandwich I get it dipped with hot & sweet peppers. The beef at Portillo’s is super juicy, full o’flava with a hint of peppery spice & is perfectly, shaved thin all piled high in just-baked, warm French bread & topped with hot & sweet peppers. Bada-Bing! Ya got yourself a 5-gem, Chicago-style beef sandwich & my vote as da best damn beef sammie in da SW burbs o’Chicago! Every blue moon, I happen to heart a good crinkle fry which are far & few in the new age world o’trendy fries. But good news cuz Portillo’s sells some really gemmy ones available in small or large. These fries are long, skinny, golden crinkles that are soft & crispy! So ya must order a side o’these golden guys to pair with your meat treat! FYI: Surprisingly, Portillo’s also makes really good salads! I sometimes come here specifically for a salad, albeit it’s hard to turn down the not so healthy menu items but it can be achieved! My fave is the Garden Deluxe Salad, which comes with lotsa, fresh, whole veggies & cubed, chedda cheese & then add-on grilled chicky which comes seasoned & sliced. The salad is big, healthy, filling & really gemmy! Last but not least is to dessert or not to dessert?! If I’m cheating, green light! Justifyin’ eatin’ a salad, why not?! My dessert o’choice is Portillo’s chocolate cake. I don’t like chocolate cake just anywhere & I don’t like the 7-layered, triple-iced, thawed out, frozen variety served at most restaurants. Portillo’s has a basic, no frills, duba-decka, home-style, chocolate cake that is über moist, light & beautifully bouncy with a light coating of smooth, chocolate icing. Enjoy one big slice for $ 2.79 or buy a whole cake & be the hit at the next office or fam-bam party! This Portillo’s I’m Unilocaling about is in Tinley Park, IL, a SW burb o’Chicago. It’s the one I frequent the most & is my fave location. This place is a FUC’n goldmine! It’s packed 24 – 7& if ya have drive-thru commitment issues like yours truly, then don’t attempt the drive-thru cuz once you get in line there’s no gettin’ out! The line is always a mile long & workers come to your window to take your order but this process can still eat up too much of your presh time! I guess a lotta peeps would rather wait in a mile long line than exit their vehicks &OMG walk-in?! Inside is counter-ordering & there’s usually 2 long lines but the order-takers are no BS-fast. Friendly, um well who’s got time for that with a sea o’customers waiting?! But effcient & pretty quick about movin’ the lines through, yep! Next, wait for your order number to be called out & pick up your food & enjoy the show! Portillo’s has a cute, vintage-like charm & has lotsa seating but the tables are cramped in the main area & at any given time the restaurant will be a full dog house! BTW, Ya can get a beer here & pasta dishes are available on the Barnelli’s Pasta Bowl side. Portillo’s also caters & if you’re not near a Portillo’s ya can order Portillo’s online or over the phone & have that shit shipped anywhere in the US! Even though old man Dick Portillo sold out to a Boston buyout group(boo), the menu & quality of food has remained the same thus far. Yep $$$$ barks louder than hot dogs, ruff! Portillo’s has locations in AZ&CA, but I somehow doubt the dogs & beef are quite as gemmy as the original, Chicagoland locations. So if you’re in the mood for a supes good Chicago hot dog, beef, crinkle fries, salad, chocolate cake or anything in between stop by Gem’s fave dawg haus, Portillo’s Hot Dogs for some doggone gemmy food & da hawtest dawgs around Chi-Town! It’s def worth barkin’ about!

5 stars for the food. 3 stars for the eating in experience. The place was packed. Funding seats was difficult. Prices were decent. Food was good. I would eat there again but maybe do take out. Had the jumbo dog which was great, fries(I would skip), onion rings(also skip), and cake shake which was awesome. Pros: good hot dog with toppings that worked well, great choc cake shake, good prices Cons: fries are not good(fat crinkle), onion rings were bland, seating is not easy for groups over 4
