The food is good. But the service SUCKS. Rude, rude, and rude. Unfriendly. And did I mention rude? Stop staring at us and then laughing.

This rating is for the bubble drink only. I haven’t try the food here, yet, but will try soon. However, their bubble milk teas are too bland. I order a Thai milk tea and a herbal milk tea. Both my mother and I dislike both drink. It is like they mix in too much water. But the two star is for a bubble drink place near where I live instead of driving an hour away.

It’s bad business when you set a close time to 10pm and really close at 9:45pm. You need to add it to your site.

Compared to the other Joy Yee locations I’ve frequented in Chinatown and University Village, this spot doesn’t quite live up to expectations. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely coming here to eat 9 times out of 10 if I am craving any specific Asian cuisine that most south side Chinese places cannot offer. Prices are a bit steep for the area but I do understand as you won’t find a place like this until you get to Chinatown. Service isn’t the best. You’ll probably have to flag down your waiter if you need anything after you get your food. Also, I would advise dining in rather than take out — noticeable difference in quality. Make sure to grab a smoothie if you visit here though. They’re the best.

I usually just got to the Joy Yee in Chinatown. I come here after work just for a smoothie. They smoothies are made right in front of you. I’ve ordered food here, it’s not as good or well prepared as it is in Chinatown. I’d only come here for smoothies. Banana smoothies on point.

Dropped by for a late lunch today. I was quickly greeted and seated. The waiter was helpful with questions I had on some of the menu items. I attempt to order an Arnold Palmer(unsweet tea/lemonade mix). Even through they had both ingredients, I was told it had to be one or the other.(Not in these direct words). Maybe this is an unusual drink request for the area? So instead, I got an Unsweet tea with lemon. The entrée I selected was the garlic shrimp. It was advertised as spicy. It was nothing spectacular, just ok. I would have never known it was spicy, if the menu didn’t mention it. The portion size was generous. There is definitely enough left over for another meal.

This place is my go to so far in the Midwest. I’ve been in the Chinatown location in Chicago where you get a different type of setting and variety, but this one is just as good. Not only are they less hectic and more spacious, the service is great and they have the food to match with as well! I’ve had their Taro milk tea with taro pudding and their milk tea with pearls(boba) and it was great, Their food? Very tasty! I had the Pineapple fried rice, Kim chi fried rice, tofu&mushroom soup, and the good ol’ milk tea with boba. The selection here is plenty and the pictures don’t do it justice. I’d recommend this place anytime; I’m actually writing this review in the restaurant, so I suppose I do have a new favorite spot for Asian spot!

came back here again as me and my fiancée crave for asian food. joy yee has been mine and my families favorite ever since we moved here in Chicago and the one in the Chinatown is my favorite. but since we live in the southside the closest is the tinley park location. we came at monday dinner the place was a little busy. we were seated immediately and after 10mins we were ready to order and got our order in the food was good had alot of flavor. the only downside of this place is that the service is very bad. servers always staring at you while you eat. and they are very rude when you ask something and when they serve the food they will just drop it hard at your table and just leave without even informing what dish came out. after they just took my plate without even asking if im finished for me that was very rude. and I said I wasnt finished yet and said just go ahead take it out we had to go and they dont even pack it for you. and funny thing once you paid and everything dont put the tip if you are not leaving just yet because they will count it infront of you. lol. i just laughed so hard after we got out their. seriously this place needs new and friendly servers this male servers are just not doing the job well. its always this guys when i come at this place. ill still be back for the food.

Overall, I wasn’t very impressed with this place, but it wasn’t the worst I’ve had. The service was decent. Nothing spectacular and nothing truly awful. When I first walked in, there was nobody there; but after someone came to help me, the service was prompt. The food was nothing special. I ordered the pad thai lunch special. I love pad thai and thought I was going to love it from this place. It was super lemony, which is something I wouldn’t normally mind because I love the taste of lemons. However, pad thai has such a great flavor combination, it is disappointing the lemon taste overpowers it all. The lunch special came with a spring roll which was pathetically tiny and burnt. That was a big disappointment and I didn’t even end up eating it. They have ok prices for their lunch specials and give you a decent amount of food. However, I was expecting a little more and was left feeling disappointed. I probably won’t be coming back.

The Garlic Shrimp was really good. The Kung Pao beef was equally as good. The only small issue was the slow response in service. Very minor. If you don’t mind waiting for a straw, then having to remind that you asked for pepper oil, you should be fine!

Really love, love, LOVE this place! The beef brisket phở here is amazing! The beef tomato rice is very flavorful and authentic. This is my go-to restaurant when I’m craving this kind of cuisine. Bobba Tea is my life! Mmmm! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the staff here are very friendly and provide outstanding service. Definitely check this place out!

I love all of their soups. If you love soup, this is your place. Their won ton soups, their phở and their soft shell crab soup is just simply the best I’ve ever had. I originally found Joy Yee in Chinatown, so when I recently moved back to the south suburbs, I was so excited to see them in Tinley. Every person I’ve brought here has fallen in love with Joy Yee. Also, their smoothies are BOMB! Popping Boba ftw

Excellent food. I particularly get only the phở soups which are phenomenal whether I have them there or for take out. Crab Rangoon, Malaysian string beans, Scezhuan beef, and beef and broccoli were all superb as well. My only tiff would be the lack luster customer service. I either see most workers on their phone, or sitting down eating and not engaging their customers. But hell, for Asian cuisine this great I’ll keep being a returning customer.

Hmmmm… Hard to believe that we ate the exact same order, we did 2 weeks ago. I had diarrhea sooooo bad this time around. My husband said his Thai chicken was rubbery. & bland A Fusion, way better WOW!!! We were going to go to the SUBMARINA place, but there was no one in there, and this place had some people in it, so we came in. We had an order of vegetable egg rolls… you get 4! Nice. I ordered the Korean Shrimp chap Chae noodles. it was EXCELLENT! !!! I could have gone for a little more shrimp in it, but I just looooved the flavor! The noodles are like, clear. My husband had the Thai red curry chicken. . WOAH! spicy! ! Very also very good. I will definitely be back.

Smoothies are good and nearly on point. The food is terrible though! It’s the worst Joy Yees ever! I ordered spring rolls once and it wasn’t done right ATALL. They only had romaine lettuce. I ordered pad Thai today and they used lemon… Lol. I’ve had pad Thai at the other locations before. It doesn’t look the same nor taste the same. Pathetic. It’s ok to be Americanized, but it’s like REALLY American.

Wow! I found a hidden gem of a restaurant in the South. We ordered the Pad Thai, Shrimp Fried Rice and Chicken & Beef Brisket Phở Soup. The chicken and shrimp pad Thai was better than no other. The Shrimp on the Fried Rice were huge. I never been to restaurant were they had very large shrimp in their fried rice. I ordered the Beef Brisket and Chicken Phó and it was so pipping hot I only ate some it and took home the rest. I really enjoyed the food at Joy Yee South. I have visited the other location in Chinatown. Great food with great service! We will be back. Enjoy. #SeñorFood

Affordable. Quick seating. Familiar. CRABRANGOON — cream cheese galore. Excellent crunch from fryer. CHICKENWONTONSOUP — good broth. Plentiful of chunky ingredients. Small is just right for 2. CHICKENTERIYAKI — serves 2 – 4. Comes with a bowl of white rice. Soft chicken. SERVICE — simple(take orders and deliver). Automatic brown bag. 1-STAR LESS: — one XX and XYBATHROOM for the entire restaurant. — misleading photo(no green veggies in chicken teriyaki) — brown bag did not contain sauce for Rangoon leftover
