Anthony’s Roast Beef & Pizza

Any Friday/​sat night this place is super busy with orders flying out (which means it’s good). Their chix salad and tuna salad are fresh and tasty, would highly recommend in sub or on top of salad. Roast beef sandwiches are made to order!

If Tewksbury ever designs its own flag, I think it has to have a roast beef sandwich on it. I like the food here, and I like the dining area — very spacious and comfortable. I actually prefer to get salads here, but I always order them with roast beef or other grilled meats. The salads are pretty basic — iceberg, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, feta, olives, etc., but the meats make them tasty. I particularly like the chicken kabob salad; the chicken is juicy and flavorful. The smell of the pizza being prepared is mouth-​watering too. It’s just too bad I didn’t know about them sooner, and that’s no doubt because of their side entrance in a strip mall. It can be a bit challenging trying to make a left turn out of their parking lot too.

Greek style pizza that’s over cooked and greasy. The homemade onion rings have a decent batter but absolute no seasoning. The terayaki chicken wings were good. Tewksbury needs a proper Italian pizza shop.

We have ordered here for parties in the past and most recently this weekend. It has always been great. This weekend we ordered 5 lg calzones and a lg tray of chicken broccoli and ziti. Our guests were so happy with the food. The restaurant provided a large tray of salad with our order, no charge. They were so accommodating, prompt with delivery and generous with portions of really yummy food.

We ordered food to be delivered. They were very late and the food was cold! We live less than 1.5 miles from Anthony’s. I would not recommend this place.

I promised I would give the a second chance after they butchered my order a couple weeks ago because we generally like their food. Today I’m done. We ordered a pizza and called back 10 minutes later to cancel because we decided to go out to eat. The cashier said the pizza was almost done so we kept our order. They delivered our order an hour and a half later. We will never go back.

Their chicken broccoli and ziti with butter and garlic sauce was amazing. They put so much parmesan on top that I thought they made us the alfredo version by mistake and was pissed. We were pleasantly surprised. It’s my husband’s favorite take out meal so I’m glad we found a great one after searching in town for 5 years.
I would give them 5 stars but I just called in an order and they ran out of roast beef. How can run out of an ingredient clearly defined in your NAME? I’m chalking it up to Friday the 13^th and will forgive them… this time.

Won’t order from here again. We always like to check out the local take-​out places, but this one was a huge disappointment.
We ordered a large chicken finger and a large cheese pizza. I’ll forgive the fact that the delivery driver forgot our pizza, as he did return with it fairly quickly.
Chicken fingers ~ were not home made. They were clearly the frozen, reheated type. (Jimbo’s Roast Beef on the other end of town makes their’s fresh so go there for chicken fingers). Their chicken fingers, aside from being not freshly made, were overpriced at $ 11 for a large. We were supposed to get a certain # of fingers (I can’t remember the exact number, this was a little over a week ago) and we did… except some of the «fingers» were nugget sized. For the price we paid, that really turned us off. (In contrast, Jimbo’s large chicken fingers are $ 8 and as stated above, they make theirs fresh)
The cheese pizza was blah. I’ve tasted this exact pizza at other places so it was nothing special. Sauce was kind of sweet.

Ordered from here a few times and it has never been consistent. Tonight we ordered their house special pizza it looked great till you tried to pick up a slice and notice the dough was raw. How in the hell do you do that… I’m done with this place.

Awesome calzones! They cook them perfectly. Nice dough, chewy and crusty. I liked that they used fresh spinach leaves instead of frozen chopped. We also tried roast beef sandwiches another time. The beef was a nice rare and shaved paper thin. They pile their sandwiches with copious amounts of beef on a toasted, buttered bun. Love that they offer horseradish sauce for roast beef sandwiches. Liked better than Jimbo’s on our last visit.

How can you burn cheese on a cheese pizza. The dough used on the pizza is horrible you can get better pizza at the local market basket! First time here and maybe my last.

Sorry guys, love the one in Reading… But this one is terrible. I’m usually pretty mellow when it comes to eating out, but you JUST opened… How can you not get it together? I asked for my sub toasted and the sandwich came back raw. I ordered a pastrami sandwich, was charged more then advertised and it was missing the cheese (didnt notice until i got home). It seems the place was being run by just a bunch of kids, there was no management that i could see. Even if there was one in the back, the front was falling apart. We were told it would only be a few minutes wait, and we were there for just shy of 20. I get things get busy (they were doing a lot of delivery) but just be honest, last i checked it was still a good policy. I’ll give it another shot, but i’m pretty dissapointed so far.
Update: I have changed my rating to four stars after giving this place a second chance. I will chalk it up to just going on a bad day that first time. The service was friendly and the food was fast. I will say the fried stuff was a little too greasy for me, but it is fried so… The food wasn’t that bad, and their veal was really good. I will go back again, they do have great daily specials.
