Denny’s

The wait was super long. The food was okay but nothing special. Our family was pretty disappointed with it. They seemed to be under staffed. If you plan to go don’t expect anything special.

All I wanted was a grilled cheese sandwich and seasoned fries, and the only place I could think of that I knew could give me both was Denny’s. I’ve lived here for 4 years and never been to any of the Denny’s in town, as they all look pretty sketch. But craving be damned, so I went. No complaints — server was busy but pleasant, my food was blazing hot and fast. Maybe not the cleanest place I’ve been to, but no place in TH is. I did notice that service was slower for other patrons, but since I was dining alone everything was quick. Cheap, and what I was craving.

Is there any place to get decent service in Terre Haute? I just wanted breakfast for dinner but I got a long wait, a really frustrated waitress, banana pancakes missing the bananas, and «I think something is wrong with the batter, but try them (pancake puppies) and if they are bad we can make more» warning with my meal. Wow. Just wow

Meh, it was Terre Haute. We pass through on our way to Indianapolis about twice a year and always stop for lunch. I think we’ve made a complete circle through all of the restaurants in the area.
This time we were craving breakfast, so what better place than Denny’s? We walked in and there were maybe 5 tables at the height of the lunch hour. We were slowly sat my a tall man who I think was a busser. It took a few minutes for our server (who was dressed like a manager) to come take our drink orders. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, took our order, and we didn’t see her again until our food came out. Note: We had been in the car for 3 ½ hours and we were thirsty. The food came out hot and all correctly, so no complaints there. I guess the people at the table next to us were her friends because she was having a grand time talking to them. Because of that, getting our refills and check took a little longer than expected. I guess that’s how it goes in small towns.
Overall the experience was ok. Can’t complain about anything, but it was nothing spectacular.
