Tried this place again after nine months from my last bad experience here. It only got worse! The server wanted tips so bad that she stole from the restaurant! She tried to not bill me for my kids drinks and novelty cups in hopes of increasing her tip. The server did a poor job all around by being so unresponsive to the tables she hosted. The food wasnt the best, some items were served cold when they should have been hot. The booth that my family sat in had torn seats and were uncomfortable. This place is ghetto trash, ran by trash, I wont return!

Stopped in for breakfast. The sign out front said«Grand Slam $ 4.99». I asked for eggs cooked«over medium» & hash browns… There were only about a half dozen tables being occupied and it seemed to take forever to get my food. The eggs weren’t done, the egg whites looked like they’d just been cracked out of the shell. The rest of the food was really good though… the hash browns came as a large portion and were especially good. It was a «two star» breakfast because of the eggs not being done and the wait to get served.

We eat at Deny’s mostly because they offer free WiFi and the coffee is always fresh. Most of the time we have breakfast or eat from the senior menu. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable.

My brother and I stopped in Terre Haute driving cross country. We had been eating a lot of junk food on the road and wanted to get a proper meal, though it was rather late(about 10:30). After weighing all the options available we chose this Denny’s as the healthy alternative. When we walked in the waitress asked if we’d like anything to drink and my brother asked what kinds of tea they have. «Just normal tea…» she answered. The waitress seemed both confused and upset by the question. He ordered coffee but I went with the normal tea. She brought us our drinks. She did not bring water. The tea tasted very strange. Behind us sat a man who made faces at both of us as though we were both lunatics, though it may have been the opposite case. His intensive stare and crazed smile terrified us. We were starting to worry he may try to harm us, but he left after a little while. We concentrated on our menus. We wanted to get some salads. There are four entrée salads on the Denny’s menu, all of which have meat on them, two of which have multiple varieties of meat. Our waitress took our order. We asked if there were any salads without meat. She said a side salad. My brother ordered one and asked to add avocado. He did not want dressing, and this visibly disturbed her. I ordered one of the entrée salads and asked to not include chicken. When she brought the salads she must have been hurried or irritated. The two salads crashed to the floor and flew everywhere. She cursed but then apologized, said it wasn’t our fault, and went back to the kitchen. She brought back the salads, my brother inquired again about the avocado. She swept up the previous salads slowly and awkwardly as we ate our dinners. My brother’s salad contained a small fraction of iceberg lettuce and was dominated by croutons and orange processed cheese. Mine was actually alright somehow. We finished our meals quickly. The waitress was clearing the table of some young people, now the only other diners. She asked if they wanted anything else and when they said no, she exaggeratedly shrugged her shoulders. We waited for our check. Two more parties came in. She seated them, brought them water, took their orders. Between each of these steps she spent a long time in the kitchen. Twenty minutes or more went by with no sign of her. We guessed at how much our order might have been, put the money on the table and left.

I’ve said it before, but it is worth repeating, ‘You cannot mess up breakfast.” My pancakes were different here than other cakes I have eaten, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t yummy. I had the everyday value slam, others in our party had the senior slam, and the chicken fried steak. One person even had a cocoa(I had a taste, for quality control purposes). 3 people, 20 $, pretty good in my book. Filling and adequate for a late dinner, we were all messed up with our mealtimes due to the dastardly DST. Oh well, that’s life. Breakfast for dinner is just the ticket sometimes. Service was pretty good, only one gal on duty and she was managing alright.
