I have had a very positive experience in transitioning from my physician who retired to Dr. Chi. He shows genuine concern for my well-​being and comfort since I am retired and unfortunately am coping with a number of medical issues.
I have recommended Dr. Chi to my best friend and would not hesitate to recommend him looking for a physician. His front office reflects his his high standards and you will find them attentive and professional. I have been a patient of Dr. Chi for years. I have had a genetic illness all my life and I get worse as time goes on sometimes monthly, sometimes weekly, sometimes daily. I’ve had doctors tell me to go to another doctor because they don’t know how to help me. I’ve had doctors get angry at me and accuse me of lying. I’ve had doctors get depressed when I come in, have you ever seen the happiness leave a doctor’s eyes when they enter the exam room. I’ve had doctors tell their receptionist to tell me they are busy, all day. And once I had a doctor leave his practice (hope it wasn’t cause of me) but I found out on my appt. day his receptionist told me he quit and to find my meds somewhere else (THAT IS A RUDE RECEPTIONIST). Dr. Chi may be a straightforward talker but he will answer your questions. That is why he sometimes runs late. He treats me and like patients like human beings, we have a bond, he remembers my intelligence and knows my experience with medicine so he speaks to me at my level. He has always been there for me, its been close to a decade now, while I would see other doctors get depressed, even angry at me for not getting better, Dr. Chi understands my path and he treats me like a human being. He does have to follow these new medication laws and sometimes can’t give out what you want, but explain to him what you feel is wrong with that med, or your previous disappointing experience with it and he will try to find a suitable substitute, or if his hands are tied he will tell you and then both of you can find a substitute. But you better know your info because unlike other doctors you won’t get what you want by begging. You need to have the info with you that will convince a very intelligent doctor why you can’t take the meds offered. And if he sees you are not trying to use him he will be on your side, and will do what he can for you. And those of you who think that just visiting a doctor means all tests blood, urine or otherwise are free are living in the past. The new rules of insurance companies have put the screws to Doctors. If you would speak to Doctor like a working human being (trying to save you as much money as he can) instead of a Facebook or Unilocal app where you walk in and just spew out all these problems you would understand him more, have him understand you more, and that is the best way to get diagnosed and treated correctly. You don’t have to believe me, but when I first saw Dr. Chi he ordered test that to me were out of left field. I left being angry with him, but out of about 11 tests 10 were positive for other problems I had because of his knowledge of the long term side effects of the meds I was taking. In those days I treated him like a mind reader. I gave him one word answers cause he ignored my main problem. Then I saw the puzzle he was putting together and from that moment on I gave him my input and we worked together and for the first time since I was 17 my walls fell down and my fear of «another» doctor giving up on me left. Now last but not least I’ve put Dr. Chi through the ringer with my illness/​disease and I know if we work together he is going to be the best doctor I have and I’m sure he will continue his utmost to fix my problem. Just take my advice he may be an intelligent and understanding Dr. but you can greatly increase your experience by participating not giving him a symptom list or a shopping list of meds. I’ll end with this before Doctor Chi I’ve had 12 doctors that I remember because some denied me the first appointment I went to. That’s more doctors than people see in many decades, and this was just around 5 years for me. If experience counts for anything with you just try it my way for a few visits, if you don’t like it I have a list of doctors that you can see. Just please not to many new patients, I still need my time with him.

We went for my father-​in-​law who is old. The staff was very helpful, they gave immediate appointment. The doctor was really nice and answered all our questions.
We also requested for other speciality doctor and they helped us to get authorizations immediately. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate all the staffs and the DOCTOR.

I didn’t like the fact that
1. The walls are too thin & and I can hear what’s going on in the other room. so I’m sure other people can hear my problems. No privacy.
2. The staff didn’t tell me I’d be charged extra for urinating in a cup. she just handed it to me. I thought it was standard procedure for their office.
3. I after I told the doctor my problems I was experiencing, he just sent me home with medication that I previously told him did not help.

One star is being way too generous. Staff is very rude! Never been in & out of here in less than an hour & a half even with an appointment. Looking for a new primary care doctor ASAP!

Just ignore the very old bad reviews. Dr. Chi has been my doctor for years now, ever since Dr. May retired, and Dr. Chi was Dr. May’s own physician at that time. That alone was all the recommendation I needed.
Dr. Chi practices very good medicine, and really cares about his patients. He has had staff problems in the past, but that is ancient history.
If Dr. Chi has a personality trait it is simply that he let’s the appointments run over time. He let’s the patients take all the time they want, and he talks at length. I can always count on being seen exactly one later than the appointed time, so I bring my smartphone. His hospital and nursing facility rounds run over, so even his first office visit in the morning or after lunch will run late.
If having a very competitent, caring, informative physician is what you want, you will find none better than Dr. Chi. If you only desire to get in on time and get out quickly, go elsewhere.

The receptionist/​nurse was so rude. Not caring for patient! «TAKE A SEAT!!!» that’s all she said.

I have known Dr. Peter Chi since high school back in 2003. I mostly went to see him for antibiotic shots during AP seasons in the spring, where stress weakened my immune system. That was between 2004 – 2007. Most recently, I’ve consulted with him regarding my heavy metal poisoning that I concocted in China during my year off from college in 2009. Dr. Chi has always been very patient in listening to my thoughts and providing a comprehensive plan in tackling my issues. We undergone different testing to provide for a more complete view of my illness, and thankfully I am now better.
