Horrible service… placed an order for delivery and never made it. when I called for an status, they were rude and yelled at me about NOT knowing where our foods was… He yelled at me about 20% discount and When I asked him when we would receive our food and screamed your order cancelled… BUT only received a 20% discount with NO food… would Not Recommend

Terrible service. My husband and I were looking for a good phở place on a rainy day, so we decided to try this place out. We walked in to find green plywood walls and leopard print seats and a fish tank. We ordered the #2 spring rolls, which were actually pretty good and larger than you’d normally find. I ordered the shrimp phở which was sub par. My husband wanted the beef stew, and there were 2 items on the menu that said beef stew, so he asked the waitress and she said yes #19 spicy soup is beef stew. When he got the soup it was a clear broth with pieces of gray meat. The beef stew he usually eats has a reddish broth so he asked her if this was the beef stew and she said no. She proceeded to tell him that next time he «needs to speak clearly»(even after he tried to confirm with her). We will never be back.

Okay so, I’ve only ordered from here twice and usually I don’t post reviews but someone needs to know how horrible their coffee is. The first time I ordered it the delivery guy accidently spilt it on his way over and I mean ya that sucked and he was complete sorry for it and that’s fine, he even took it off the bill for me and was very sweet but the second time I ordered it, I immediately wished he had spilt it again. It smelt like dirty feet and tasted like watered down garbage. Like they were steeping it in water a dirty homeless man just bathed in. How do you mess up coffee? Where are they buying their beans? Horrible. Also, their spring rolls were pretty tasteless and their phở smelt a little funny so i didn’t eat it but, on the plus side, I absolutely loved their chowmein. That’s probably the only thing I’ll ever get from there from now on.

I order the special rice plate that have grill pork chop with egg and other stuffs with white rice and fish sauce. The pork chop was over cook or over microwave that I can’t even chew and no flavor, and the fried Egg was over cook too.

Came here after my friend saw some foul stuff at Phở Nhat on Apache and this place definitely made up for that incident. Food here at Phở Tempe was perfect. We were the only ones in there so everything came quick. The egg rolls were so good and my phở was amazing I’ll def go back soon.

I got sent to Phoenix for lunch, and I’ve ordered take out from phở Tempe quite a few times this time I ordered through grub hub, as I called whoever takes the over the phone orders to let them know that I had forgotten to put a few things on grub hub about my order. I was quickly rushed off the phone after only giving half of my information. so because that happened The grub hub delivery person was not able to find the right hotel and also had the wrong room number which I had given the person who takes it over the phone orders before they sent my order out. When I got my meal which was the lemongrass chicken and also the Saigon noodles the rice was mushy they did not give me the chili lime fish sauce that supposed to come with the Saigon noodles and overall the food was pretty mediocre such a disappointment for something that I was looking forward to. Never eating here again!

I waited like 15 minutes to be seated as there was no one to be seen. This place is split in two with one side being Vietnamese cuisine and the other side being Thai cuisine. I went around and checked out the cool aquarium tanks that they had. They had two tanks; one for turtles and koi and another one on the Thai side that had a pretty legit eel and some tropical fish I presume. This wasn’t the first time I’ve eaten here but it’s been probably a year or two since I’ve last been here. The waitress was in the back working in the kitchen with ear plugs on as she was blending stuff with a blender. My buddy got her attention and we were seated. After ordering cha gio and our phở orders, she brought us waters. The appetizers, being the cha gio or fried egg rolls, came out relatively fast. Shortly after, the phở bowls came. I had gotten a beef phở with everything in it. It was pretty decent. The cha gio were decent. All around, not bad.

They got my order wrong! I even ordered by giving them the number of the selection and pointed directly to the entrée which is the safe way to order things in non native English speaking restaurants and they still made me something on a completely different page! Wtf?! Also they barely give you any of the things you want in your order! They give you barely any meat, barely any seafood, the shrimp pieces despite being labeled«jumbo» are mere tiny pieces of shrimp. This place is as stingy as they come people! Also, they take FOREVER! To get my food out. I only ordered noodle soup. It takes other phở restaurants less than 5 minutes to make it. Mine here however took 35 minutes including making the wrong order first. On top of it some other things wrong: they did not give me any napkins, their forks felt dirty, my noodle soup barely had any noodles or meat and looked like someone ate half of it and then gave it to me! Not to mention the bowls are tiny to begin with. And the worst thing?! They put pork in my beef noodle soup! First they got it wrong and second time they got the dish right but they put meat I don’t eat in. Hello?! I ordered beef soup not pork soup. Tho the waitress got my order wrong, and it took forever, she quickly apologized and made me the right entrée without giving me shit about it. Whenever I asked for something she was nice. So service is hospitable tho not very accurate. But even after all this I cannot say I would be happy coming back here again. I wouldn’t even sadly come back here. Sorry this place sucks balls!

Pretty authentic food! Everything I’ve had I’ve always loved. The pad thai is my go-to, and their boba tea is delicious. Fast service, friendly employees, authentic food. It’s a great place to go!

I’ve never written a bad review, I’ve never sent back food, I rarely ever have negative enough opinions to warrant a rant but this place was SOBAD it makes me angry !! Everything was gross. Service isn’t even something that I care too much about but even that was exceptionally BAD. Don’t go there. Its gross. The glasses weren’t clean, the place is shady AF, food is overpriced for what it is, I could only muster a few sips of broth but the everything else we ordered was borderline inedible, etc etc. You’ve been warned !!

Terrible, shady place. First, the hours were different between the door and online, so we thought they were closed. But the door was open, we were starving, and they were more than willing to seat us. We were given two menus(which claimed yet different hours) and we quickly ordered various Vietnamese dishes. They couldn’t substitute egg noodles in their Phở for some reason, which is fine, so we asked about their shrimp, meat, and squid dish. They had no squid, and our server said something about fake meat, but we sort of waved it off in anticipation for the food. They came out with my Bbq pork dish first. It looked normal, but the egg rolls looked a little bizarre. I tried them and I can’t really explain the taste. My friend described it as cheesy. It was pretty bad. So after removing that, I noticed that most of the Bbq pork was charred beyond recognition. It was only at this point, at least ten minutes later, that my friend got her dish, which was a bit disappointing given that we were one of two parties in the place. The dish indeed had no squid, but it did have slimy«meat». It also had two pieces of shrimp. Two tiny pieces. That was embarrassing. We ended our meal with a large pile of discarded egg rolls, «meat», and fairly bland noodles. I would not recommend coming here.

I and my friend opted to have Lunch here this week. For some reason or another, this place is two restaurants(one Thai, One Vietnamese) running out of the same kitchen but with separate seating rooms and separate doors. The first thing we realized is how hot it was. There was no AC and no fans going at all. It smelt very stale and sticky. After waiting for nearly five minutes at the door, a single waitress came around the corner and finally seated us at a booth. It was very shabby, the furniture was falling apart. we were handed two menus each for each of the cuisines/restaurants? I came for Phở, so I just ordered one with meatballs and brisket. My friend ordered fried rice. After waiting 20 min, my friends food finally came out. It was very dry, almost as if over-cooked. But she was so hungry she brushed it off. It was another 10 minutes before my food finally came out. When it did I began to put chili and seasoning into it and picked up my chopsticks before something caught my eye. Looking a little closer, I lifted from the bowl a long rubbery piece of tripe. I was disgusted. the entire bowl was full of tripe. Innards, stomach lining, and intestines may be other people’s idea of flavor, but to me it is absolutely awful and repulsive. After I told the Waitress, she apologized and sent it back to get the correct order. By this time my friend had finished her food and we both awkwardly sat as I waited for my food to come out. During this time, another gentleman in the restaurant also complained about his food. First it was the wrong order, then it was under-cooked. I was already beginning to regret coming in here to eat. After waiting another 10 minutes, my phở finally came out. we had to ask twice for Beansprouts, lime and basil which is staple and supposed to be served alongside. Thankful and starving, I picked up my chopsticks finally once again and placed them in my bowl, and poked around my noodles only to realize that it was the SAME bowl of soup, the cook had just picked out the tripe rather than replacing it with the correct order with new noodles and broth. It still had the unpleasant odor of tripe emanating from it as well as some of the chili flakes I had previously placed in before. By now the noodles were soggy and the broth luke-warm. I could barely get through a third of it before I through in the towel. Never in my life have I had to push away a nearly full bowl of phở. It was a shame. wanting to wash my mouth out of the awful foul tripe taste, I ordered an iced tea. When it finally came, it was so watered down it tasted like tap water. The Sugar packets were chunky and hard, like they had gotten wet and were just put pack to save money. I decided to swap that out for a soda and ordered a sprite. The young Waitress(who this entire time had been very attentive, very sweet and quite nice to us) brought it out. I took one long sip. It was flat. As flat as flat can be; almost as if from the bottom of a generic brand bottle of cheap soft drink. It was time to leave. I would not suggest anyone eat here. Please save your money and your time, and go somewhere good. We will not be coming back. completely awful.

My husband and I were looking for a new phở spot to try out nearby and happened to find this place. We walked in and the waitress just looked at us and sat us down at a table, she didn’t greet us or anything. Once we sat down she came by to give us the menu and the menu was for Thai food. We could have sworn we walked into a phở restaurant because the picture outside clearly stated it was a phở restaurant. Anyway, we just sat there for about 10 minutes while our waitress was eating with another worker. She then came by and asked what we wanted to drink and we asked if there was phở here. She didn’t say anything but take our«Thai» menus away and came back with the Vietnamese menu. To sum things up … She never came back to take our order after that, so we left. Boooo … Customer Service was terrible! I’ll never recommend this place to anyone!

Trickery — this restaurant is now called Phở Tempe but used to be Saigon Phở… and it’s still only 2 stars. We went tonight and ordered 3 things. Since it claims to be Thai and Vietnamese, we ordered Pad Thai noodles, Phở Chin, fried rice and Thai tea. You’d think that at least something was good but nope, none of it was good… other than the Thai tea. They delivered the smallest bowl of weak broth phở I’ve ever seen(with only 3 pieces of meat). It arrived 10 min before the rest of the food arrived, with no spoons. The Pad Thai noodles, which are normally a dryer noodle, were swimming in sauce, had very little chicken, and had no peanuts(wth?). The fried rice was… interesting. My dad said he thought it was decent but wouldn’t reorder it. The rest of us didn’t like it. But the worst part was the TV. The movies playing had had curse words, people puking(not kidding) and tons of violence… That’s definitely not appropriate while my 3-year old, retired parents and I were trying to eat. Since there were other kids there, too, I ask them to change it. They changed it from an F-bomb movie to the movie that had vomit scenes… Nice. Then they wouldn’t change it on my 2nd request so my toddler got an eyeful all through dinner. We almost got up at left at this point. Put a cooking show or the travel channel on the TV! Then you’ll have something appropriate for all ages and tastes to watch. The Thai tea was good and the interior looks nice but my parents said to watch out for the bathrooms. I was trying to get my culinary conservative parents into Viet food since my fiancé, toddler and in-laws are all Vietnamese but this restaurant was a big disappointment. Definitely won’t see you there(especially when Khai Hoan is right down the road).

I don’t quite know how to describe our visit to Saigon Phở. My husband and I couldn’t decide what to do for dinner so we crawled through some Unilocal and groupon deals and decided on phở. We like phở. So off to Tempe we went. We were greeted by green walls, a turtle pond, and the owner who directed us to our booth. «We have Vietnamese food here,» she said. Yes, I know. I came here for your Vietnamese food. We ordered Thai iced teas and were prepared to order our meals, but after we ordered our drinks she left her notepad on our table and left. Oh, okay. A waiter(her son) came to our table to deliver the Thai iced teas, which were good, and to take our order. I ordered the chicken phở and my husband ordered the beef phở. We also got the crab Rangoon. He came back with our crab Rangoon… And also a British accent. What? Yes. He had completely changed his accent from perfectly American to straight up Brit. The couple in the lobby putting in a to go order noticed it as well. «Where are you originally from?» They asked. «Colorado Springs.» He said. Oh… Back to the food. The crab rangoons came out. They were pretty good. A little sweet for my taste. The sauce was really runny though, like it was watered down. He also brought our side plates of fun things to put in our phở, including bean sprouts, mint sprigs and jalapeños. And lemons. Our phở came out. Mine had what looked like shredded chicken from a rotisserie chicken in it, my husbands had grey beef and tripe in it(though no tripe was ordered). We had both asked for a level 3 heat in our soups, but neither were spicy, or very flavorful. This is when I reached for the condiment tray, to add some sriracha and chili paste. It seemed that none of the bottles had ever been wiped down — they were grimy and sticky to the touch. I went to pour a little soy sauce into the broth — ITWOULDN’T POUROUTOFTHEBOTTLE. But, I digress. We mentioned we had a living social deal to pay. It seems that they have used several of these services to drum up business, as the table next to us had one as well. They were not excited about us using the living social deal that they had decided to sign up for in the first place. Begrudgingly, without speaking, the owner took our check and hand-wrote the new total. We put our credit card in the book. The waiter came back and asked us if we wanted more water or to-go boxes. We said no thank you. He left without taking the check. We waited five minutes for him to come back to ask if we wanted water again so we could pay and leave. We left with our stomachs feeling full but uncomfortable. I looked longingly across the parking lot at Ted’s, certain that a corn dog would have been more satisfying than this disaster.

The other reviewers are spot on for this restaurant. 1) Combined restaurants. This is combined with Tempe Phở. Had a Living Social Deal so thought I’d give it a try. The Asian lady(seemed like possibly a part owner) said I could get it to go but would have to pay the gratuity of 18% which seemed fair. But, she also said I would have to spend a high minimum amount before I could use the deal. That part was unexpected. 2) Environment unclean. The tables were sticky and had greasy residue as if they weren’t using clean washing water/soap to clean each table, but were possibly using old water without any soap. 2a) Condiment bottles were filthy on the outside as if they never cleaned or wiped them down as a regular part of the process each day. I was worried about picking up germs and bacteria by just using the condiments at the table. The soy sauce tasted like a really off brand that I was not accustomed to. Soy sauce is of course fermented soy bean, but it did not taste like any soy sauce I’ve had before. 2b) Forks were in a bottle/vase at each table. This doesn’t seem proper by health code standards, as anyone could contaminate the utensils when they are left out like that and not individually wrapped. I opted for chopsticks that were individually wrapped instead. 3) Beverage. My iced tea was refreshing, until I reached about halfway through it and saw a flying bug floating in it that was just short of a centimeter long. I asked for a new glass, not sure if they brought me back the same glass but refilled. 4) Food. The Phở noodles I got was seafood special with meat and seafood. I barely found tiny pieces of some random seafood in it that was not shrimp, not scallop, not fake crab meat, not sure what it was, but there was very little of it. The broth was not the best I’ve had. While eating the noodles, the broth turned very cloudy, which led me to think the noodles were likely not washed off, so the substance on the noodles came off into the broth. 5) Fried wonton shrimp appetizer: The shrimp was mostly raw. I could tell by the translucency of the shrimp as well as the color and texture. I ate them, hoping I would not get food poisoning. Fortunately, I did not. I would have thought that the little shrimp would easily get cooked in a fryer with a thin layer of wonton around it. So unexpected. 6) Grilled beef entrée: This was great. Grilled perfectly, not raw, tasted good with the seasoning, and it did not seem un-fresh. This was the only thing I had no complaint about. 7) Seating: Vinyl booths were not filthy as I recall. They stuck me in the front near the sound/TV controls and devices. Many cords were strewn about there. I had trouble getting into the booth as it was partially blocked by these items. 8) Someone mentioned that they changed the names of the restaurant because of the poor reviews. Not sure how that helps since any new customers will write new reviews and unless they change something about the things people do not like, the reviews will likely be similar. 9) the Asian lady(again, who seemed to be part owner), was very bossy and barked orders to the guy waiter in dreadlocks. This guy was very nice and provided good service. She would often bark out things across the quiet, dark dining area to him. It was strange, her interaction with him. He did not seem to like working there, but yet still provided very good service to all of the tables. All in all, I would not return here. I can see why they have deals with Groupon and Living Social. I am guessing not many people return though after trying it out. For great Phở, go to Tea Lite Café on May Blvd near Scottsdale Road, that is a consistently great experience, with fresh ingredients, quick service, and fair pricing. The name of the restaurant on my Living Social deal was«PHOTEMPE». But, this is the address and restaurant that comes up. I guess this coincides with other reviewers mentioning that they have changed the name of the restaurant.

This place is weird. Actually we couldn’t find it at first because it said Phở Tempe outside. And it seems that they have totally different menu from«Authentic» Saigon Phở, I wonder is that ok to use the same name? Anyway, I have to say, the phở I ordered was decent flavor and the service was just fine. BUT, the potion really wasn’t too much, either phở or broken rice. That’s really disappointing. I think I’ll not come back here without a Groupon

I was intrigued when I saw that Saigon Phở opened up, sharing half the space of the Papaya Thai building. We decided to try out their Vietnamese eats since we were in the area and hungry for dinner. We came here on a Monday early evening, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. One other couple trickled in during our service though. The interior is cute, with a refreshing green palette that mimics the vibrant colors of Vietnamese food itself. We pored through the menu, and I honed in on the vegetarian items. I’m not a vegetarian, but I do try to limit my meat intake and are always on the lookout for good vegetarian dishes. They have a decent selection, and I decided on the vegetarian fish with vegetables and ginger. First though, we started out with the egg roll appetizer. It was crisp, flavorful, and delicious. It had the right mix of spices, and the dipping sauce went well with it. The entrees came shortly after. The faux fish was very good. It even had a dark bean curd«skin» that tasted a lot like the crisp skin of a nicely cooked fish. The texture was very similar to a white-fleshed fish, and was tender. The sauce was similar to a sweet and sour sauce, laced with the kind of pea and carrot mixture you would find in the freezer section of a grocery store, ginger, cilantro, celery, tomato, and tofu. While I enjoyed the fish, after eating half of it, I got tired of the sweet/sour taste of the sauce and had the rest of it boxed up to go. The presentation was very nice though, and it came with a pickled daikon/carrot mixture, an orange slice, nicely sliced cucumber, and tomato slices. My husband ordered the phở ga(Chicken phở), which had large pieces of chicken breast in it, with fresh vegetables and a lot of noodles to go with the broth and meat. I tasted some of the broth– it was decent, albeit a little watery tasting. Overall, a decent place for Vietnamese cuisine, and probably the closest Vietnamese place to where we live!
