I’ve always felt that I prefer Flame Broiler over Waba Grill based on my previous visits to other Flame Broiler locations throughout SoCal. Hungry after a very long holiday traffic drive from Vegas, we stopped here for a quick bite. I was disappointed 1st just by the look of the food, the grill was not cleaned properly so there were black bits peppering the meat, the order was also missing green onions when I clearly asked for them, and the portion was tiny, my husband commented that he had way more rice than meat, and lastly, the taste just wasn’t there. My husband is not picky, so when he asked me why I preferred FB over WB, I knew it was pretty bad. The place is clean and the service is ok but the quality of the food for the money is not there. Too bad.

I came here and got a veggie and chicken bowl — veggies were raw and chicken was undercooked and smelled like it was last its expiration date. Staff is very dry and not friendly. 2 stars only because I like how it’s continently next to my house.

Because of this location, and specifically the owner’s indifference to his customers who keep his lights on, I have vowed never to give another dime to The Flame Broiler company. The sad thing is that up until a year and a half ago(my last visit) I was a devotee, for I am very much a lover of teriyaki chicken and steak plates. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt when one time I found a bug in my food. I didn’t even complain about it. I just scooped it out of the container along with any surrounding food and kept eating. The problem that I had was that I had been holding on to a coupon which offered a BOGO chicken bowl. It was on my desk and I kept forgetting to use it time and again. Finally, on the day before it was to expire I was on my way to pick up some Flame Broiler, and so I actually doubled back home to get that coupon to redeem it(for I knew it was about to expire), which took ½ hour from my day to retrieve it. Then when I tried to redeem it and order two chicken bowls they informed me that they were no longer honoring this particular coupon! I was incensed by this of course, and so the workers directed me to contact a man who IIRC was the owner, who was at their Murrieta location. When I called Murrieta and spoke with this man, he explained that they were no longer accepting this coupon and it had something to do with some issue he had with the advertising company, claiming that they offered this particular deal without authorization(kind of hard to believe). So they were getting advertising and having business drawn to them, but then they were not coming through with the promotion promised i.e. they were having their cake and eating it too. Being that as it may, I explained to him that I was a regular customer, and that I had gone out of my way to get that coupon, that I was still buying a chicken bowl so they wouldn’t be taking any actual financial loss, that it would be a proper gesture to a good customer to honor the coupon given my insistence, and so on. He was not at all moved and refused to compromise, and then insulted my intelligence with some total hogwash/B.S. line about how if he were to do this for me, then he would have to do it for everyone else. So I made sure he understood what this meant– that over a lousy BOGO chicken bowl he would not be getting another penny of my money, nor would any Flame Broiler because I hold a grudge when people do me dirty like this. He apparently was okay with it, and that was that. Thus, I went from being a twice-a-week customer to never setting foot in their door again. And for what? One chicken bowl. Rice with a little bit of chicken and sauce on top. That’s a very smart way to do business *sarcasm*. There used to be a Hawaiian BBQ where they are located that went under, and if one day this location folds I will smile and shake my head, secure in the knowledge that it will be because of their own incompetence. It sucked for me for a while not to be able to get my teriyaki fix, but fortunately Waba Grill came to town and so now I really have no reason to return to Flame Broiler. So not only do they not get my business anymore, but now my money goes to their main competitor. And I’m sure the other Flame Broilers wouldn’t appreciate that they are losing money because of this owner’s cheapskate ways and horrible business sense. It’s a tragedy when some minimum wage employee drives away hundreds of dollars in business by pissing off a customer, but when the owner himself is doing it over an easily resolvable issue like this then that’s when you know the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Delicious, fresh, made-to-order, quick, friendly service! I love Flame Broiler, but this location in particular because everyone here is very personable, greets you quickly with a smile, takes your order, and even with special requests you receive your order on an average of 13.5 minutes! I know this sounds funny but I eat here on average 4x’s a week and one day when I was really hungry I decided to see how long it would take from the time I was greeted until I received my order. That day it took 10.55 so I started timing then‼ The food is simple, healthy, very cooked and spiced and served hot off the grill with no wait time. You also have the choice of eating in or on the go. The choices given are just enough with the same in combinations. Other restaurants fall into the trap of expanding a successful menu into a larger and more complicated one, thus increasing wait time, food and freshness quality going down and a more frazzled service staff. Flame Broiler don’t monkey too much with success, bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better!

Cheap, cheap, cheap Charges extra for everything. Adds whatever price he feels like… Service is painfully slow! I finally gave up and left… I donated my bowl. Went to Chick-fil-a…so, in the end, I won! I wonder what other corners are cut?

The best flame broiler I’ve been to. Always clean and friendly. The owner Farid can be seen often and he’s always so nice and runs his store smoothly. Food is quickly out and always tastes five star quality. Price is low and with the portion size so large it’d definitely worth it. Come try it out I highly recommend it.

First time here but will not be last time. Lots of tender chicken with vegetables on top of brown rice with the wonderful magic sauce. Great meal of healthy food and low calories. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I absolutely love flame broiler a healthy choice for those who seek low calories and high protein meals. The reason for my one star review is base on customer service. No welcoming hello, no smile, and a hurry up and buy vibe coming from the cashier. Customer service is almost everything in a business. The food is good but the customer service leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Please fix. Talk to your cashiers. And smile!

Flame broiler is simple good food, it tastes great and is healthy because the ingredients are real with no fillers, GMOs or MSGs. They have chicken, or beef options, on white or brown rice. They also have vegetable options like green onions, carrots, broccoli, etc. The best thing to get here in my opinion is chicken or beef, on white rice & green onions. ALSO, don’t forget the magic sauce & hot sauce, either one is really good.

I am new to the area and have wanted to try this place but was unsure. My boss took me here for a quick bite and I was pleasantly surprised. Wish I had tried it sooner. Great prices for a quick, healthy meal. Love all the sauces that I can use at my discretion not at theirs. Yummy!

This place was decent. The prices were good but the food was nothing special. I know it’s healthy but most likely will not come here again.

First time at this location and am disappointed. Ordered chicken with vegetables on brown rice and the bowl barely had any vegetables and the chicken was minimal from the other locations I’ve been at; the bowl was consumed mostly of the brown rice. NOT to mention the weekend special posted on the window is interestingly(hand drawn .99 cents) more then other locations. Is management trying to make a .99 cent profit from its franchise? Smh. Basically, at this location you won’t be getting what you paid for. I would recommend going next door to Chipotle or drive the extra couple miles for your monies worth.

Love me some Flame Broiler. It’s a great lunch spot, I love how they have no MSG’s/GMO’s and it’s a healthy option. Their rice is sticky and perfectly cook. Can’t go wrong with chicken and rice! It’s off the menu, but try their chicken breast!

Ordered the chicken plate for lunch. The chicken was dry and stringy. I do like this restaurant chin but the chicken seems to be cooked long before I get there. That’s too bad.

If you’re looking for a quick, simple, some what healthy and good meal then you need to stop by. My daughter is going gluten free and the manager/owner was very helpful with his recommendations, such as, white rice and dry chicken. Who knew teriyaki sauce wasn’t gluten free? They also own the Murrieta Flame Broiler in the Sam’s Club shopping center. I believe the son runs this location. Both locations have friendly service and great food. I’ll continue to visit both locations.

Nice healthy version of Yoshinoya. Used a coupon and the manager tried to refuse(minus 1 star) but persistence paid off and he took it to avoid a voucher sit in protest. I just don’t get why businesses have coupons then get pissed when people try to use them. What goes through their minds? THEIRMINDS «No, the advertising we spent money on paid off, this guy brought in a BOGO! But wait shit, it’s a coupon and we will make less money… Maybe if I pretend to not take it he’ll still pay regular price…» I’ll never get it. But the beef and veggie bowl is solid. The secret sauce is a must. And for the BOGO the chick veggie was equally fresh and tasty.

UPDATE: Weekend Chicken bowl special is now $ 5.99 which is still a great deal, and they do carry a frequency card if you come often!
