The ice cream is amazing as are the toppings — especially the Kailua and Caramel. The truffles are also quite delicious but a little pricey. Stop in for a refreshing treat.

Disappointment. I didn’t even get to try a chocolate. Unilocal says they close at 5pm. Their website says they close at 9pm. I thought the website would be a better determinent on closing time so I decided to give it a go after dinner. The sign on the door says they close at 8pm. Get it together Telluride Truffle. Tourists are your bread and butter. If nothing online is correct how do we know when you’re actually open so we can try your yummy goodies. Head to Baked in Telluride. They seem to always have their stuff together.

Delicious truffles and chocolates. Wish I had purchased more than the 6 that we did buy. The sea salt caramel with dark chocolate was wonderful as was the Kahlua truffle.

We came here at lunch during the summer and decided to have a little treat. We ordered a couple of the chocolates which tasted delicious and then also had a scoop of ice cream. My wife had the black raspberry flavor and I had the espresso chocolate chip. Hers tasted great, but unfortunately mine was very icy. The flavor was great, but I think we are ice cream snobs so we did not think the quality was very good.

Yummy turtles and chocolate! And their customer service is true kindness. This is definitely the sweet spot of Telluride.

Mediocre chocolate but giving a good dot with ice cream in the same elk. Tourists draw mostly and inside is not an attractive display or stay spot but tables on street are great as they’re stepped with flowers and offer mountain vistas.

I stopped by the shop last Friday to pick up a gift for my father’s birthday, which was Monday. Short on time, I simply explained my situation, then bought one of the available gifts. I was not informed that the truffles include alcohol. I am sure 99.9% of the time this is a non issue for their customers. Unfortunately for me, it is an issue. I naively had it in my mind that I would bring the issue to, what I believed would be an owner who values their customers, and it would be taken care of right away. I offered to send my «fourteener» back in exchange for a new nonalcoholic version. Instead an un composed woman told me that there is nothing to be done. ‘You know we can’t tell everyone that there is alcohol in our truffles, there’s nuts in the truffles, there’s sugar in the truffles’. Well ma’am sugar in truffles is to be expected, nuts in truffles is quite common… Alcohol is not one of the first(or first 50) thoughts that pops into my mind when the word truffle is mentioned. She then went on to tell me I should save them as a great gift for someone else in the future. Thank you for the brilliant idea to save the truffles for someone else. That was quite a gem, however I was left with no gift for my father. I excitedly told him that his present came from Telluride, so I had to scramble to find some sort of solution. The woman would not replace it. My only option would be to shell out another $ 46 for a non alcoholic version. If unable to take the $ 46 «fourteener» I bought back, a simple«Let us send you one out on us!» would have sufficed(and kept this customer coming back!). Telling me there is «nothing I can do» was inaccurate. As a business owner who values their customers, there is ALWAYS something you can do. She meant to say ‘there is nothing I WILL do.“ Shame on you.

I just went in to the Telluride Truffle in Mountain Village(I’m assuming it’s an outpost of some sort) and was less than impressed. The woman working was really snobby– she didn’t offer any help whatsoever. She sat on her laptop until I asked a question about one of the truffles and then she gave me a snarky answer. Me: «is the white chocolate almond truffle filled with marzipan?» Her: «um, it’s white chocolate and almonds.» Me: «like chunks of almonds?» Her: «no. Its white chocolate almond truffle filling, like a truffle.» She didn’t smile once throughout our interaction which made me feel stupid and like an inconvenience. The store itself is small and uninviting. They have one case of truffles and barks and a freezer for Boulder ice cream. The dingy carpeting and complete silence(besides the hum of the freezer) didn’t help matters at all. We bought 2 truffles($ 2.85 each), a milk chocolate turtle($ 4.50) and an ice cream cone– it came to a little over $ 14. Maybe since it’s off-season they put their B-squad in the store, but I won’t be rushing back here, ever. p. s. I hope the woman working is using her time to read Unilocal reviews and brushing up on her customer service skills.

This is a must stop for chocolate lovers. The truffles are artfully crafted and truly decadent. Also try the lemon cream ice cream. It’s like an orange creamsicle except it’s lemon! The customer service is helpful and friendly

If you are in Telluride — GOIN. If you are a chocolate lover — ORDERON-LINE I discovered this place about 3 years ago while passing through Telluride. Being a chocolate lover, I was delighted. Their truffles are unique — in both shape and taste. My favorite is the Tequila truffle(and I am not a Tequila fan). I ended up ordering a bunch to give to clients for the holidays. They will place a special label with your logo and a message on each package(their packaging is very slick — pyramid/triangular shaped boxes). Now my clients look forward to this every year and so do I!

A real disappointment after reading reviews and articles. Stopped in for an afternoon chocolate fix. The young lady working was quite nice, polite. She made a couple of recommendations and I settled on the purist(plain dark chocolate) and a dark chocolate and tequila truffle w/salt(I don’t remember the name of it). The dark chocolate truffle was okay — nothing wow inspiring and really not that dark. The tequila flavor in the second was okay, not too over powering — but the salt on top was too much. At $ 3 a piece they were a bit pricey(but that’s Telluride). I wouldn’t recommend against stopping in for a chocolate, but I found better treats at other locales later in the week — hot chocolate at The Coffee Cowboy and brownies at Baked in Telluride, for example.

You’ll open the door & before you know it? THWACK! You’ll be hit with the smell of rich chocolate. Quite friendly & informative — their truffles are a great«You really missed out when you didn’t come to Telluride» gift. Also, I think their drinking chocolate is sourced directly from Willy Wonka’s river. Quite decadent.

Some of the best truffles we’ve ever had. We buy the«Fourteener» as gifts for special occasions, and they never disappoint. Try the Black Diamond(dark chocolate, tequila and a touch of salt) Snow Capped(dark chocolate outside, white inside, with Meyers rum) and Powder Day(white chocolate with Amaretto). The presentation is beautiful, and never had a problem with shipping. Highly recommend!

We stopped into Telluride Truffle for a bite size afternoon sweet treat. The interior is very warm and welcoming, almost homey rather than boutiquey. The lady at the counter was very friendly, informative and incredibly proud of their chocolate, so much so it made us trust any recommendation! She provided a few favorite items but wasn’t pushy and let us select our items in peace. I selected their hot chocolate — absolutely divine!!! and my husband selected the dark & milk chocolate chambord truffle — so smooth and mouthwatering; the powder day — definitely much more sweet and recommended for fans of almond but mouthwatering nonetheless. We also took some of their«perfect cookies» back to the lodge with us, after trying one, I’m sure they won’t last long either. NOTE: there is an $ 8 purchase minimum for credit card purchases.

Dark chocolate caramel walnut turtle…*drool*. This turtle is THE turtle that all turtles from this day forward must be compared to. While my friends assured me the other chocolate treats were equally delectable and satiating for chocoholics, I couldn’t get over the taste of this perfect turtle. Thank goodness for mail order delivery. I won’t have to wait until my next trip to Telluride to enjoy treats from this singularly charming chocolatier in town.
