So delicious. We own the local brewery and order food to go for our customers very often. The tacos are always amazing. The taco salad is sooo good. They make everything fresh and you can tell. All the sauces are a must try.

This is truly a family run restaurant. The food is really good. Carne Asada burrito is always on point. Quaint and clean restaurant. If you travel through Tehachapi this a great place to stop and eat. The good: to-go is easy, fast and accurate; Carne Asada Burrito. The bad: salsa rationing;(obviously due to customers abusing the free salsa) ;limited menu.

This place fails for every reason listed by other Unilocalers and so many more. Saying that a place is that best in Tehachapi is not high praise, this town is tiny and has virtually no selection when it comes to food so best in town is not an accomplishment. Congratulations, you beat Del Taco. The food is bland and overpriced and the salsa restrictions are laughable. There is a bad trend in this town, screwing over its residents knowing they have no options except driving to Bakersfield.

Went here and it wasn’t busy but the people at the counter acted annoyed when I asked a question about an item on the menu. They were very rude and the food was nothing special. In fact, I think they are over priced for what you get. The ingredients were low quality as well. Not authentic Mexican cuisine. We will not be going back ever again.

Visited on Saturday — place was very busy. we had visited before and didn’t have the best experience, but decided to give it another try. Same poor quality food — this time they ‘lost our order’ after many people who ordered after us received their food — we asked about our order. They stated the ‘other people’ at our table got our order. This would be my son and his wife. NOPE — sorry they didn’t get our food — or our CHIPSANDGUACAMOLE that we overpaid for to hold us over since we knew the wait time would be long. After we explained that our children received THEIR food but we hadn’t received ours — So they ‘rushed out order’ They obviously really did LOSE our order — because the food they brought us was not what we ordered. Second and LASTVISITTHERE.

Well went there tonight for Nachos and Carne Asada Fries and lets just say the chips and fries were the best part of these items. 1. Carne Asada was so dry it didnt even look like meat. 2. Too mich beans on the nachos 3. Guacamole was grey color and was expensive, order some ob the side for a dollar it came in the same container as salsa 4. Salsa, was only able to get 1 for each dish. 5. Ordered beans on the side of the Carne Asada fries, very expensive add on. Actually the whole meal was too much. It is just not good foos. The only thing i like there is the chips seem homemade and the green salsa is spicy. Besides that not worth the money at all.

Skip the place all together. Poor service. They monitor the salsa like you are trying to steal it. They dont offer refills on the drinks. The food is poor quality and the prices are high.

I don’t recommend this place. We ordered taquitos and they were frozen taquitos with some sort of sweet salsa… The carne asada was OK. Chips and salsa is $ 4, a little price considering you don’t get fresh chips and only a small plate of them. No refills either.

Dirty! That’s enough to put me off but, to add to that, the tacos are dry and bland.

I have been looking for good tacos in Tehachapi– tried the food here twice. The crispy tacos were in store bought shells, the salsa bar was not well stocked and difficult to reach. Not sure that I would waste my time going back.

The food here is okay. Nothing to be impressed with, but okay(for the price you pay). That’s my main problem with it really. The food is way overpriced for the quality. The service is pretty mediocre especially since you’re only allowed 1 side of salsa for a burrito and ½ a side for a taco. At least before they had the small cups for salsas available and you could help yourself. Now you actually have to ask for them. Stingy! Today I had 3 tacos, but I only got one little cup for the salsa. Where’s my half?! Lol.

My husband and I eat here several times a month. We’re vegetarians and love it. I get the veggie burrito and usually save half because it’s huge and he gets a vegetarian torta. They lost a star because they charge you for refills.

Carne asada is excellent… carnitas not so much, but that’s okay because I prefer carne most of the time. I’ve been told the salsa is SPICY so you might want to ask for it on the side.

An average Mexican place but don’t get me wrong, its definitely A-Ok and yummy. The street tacos are pretty darn good, but for my Ameri-Mexican cravings, I go for the taco salad in the big shell.

Best Carne Asada tacos and burritos in town. They make everything themselves. Nothing from a can. Love the salsa. This place is a great place for lunch or a quick dinner.

Ok well I have a grand motivation to review tacos sammich today. I’m sitting here in the dining room with my wife after having a couple burritos. I have been here before and had tacos. Although the tacos were decent enought to bring us back I did forget a small issue aboyt the place that irked me. Ill get to that after I review the food. Chili colorado burrito: I had this one, bright red colorado sauce and the meat is shredded finely. Not much else in the burrito though. The taste was good, nice spicy flavor in ther red sauce. I was not impressed though as it did not have real cheese on it, or maybe it was real cheese but it tasted and looked like pre shredded cheese from a bag. I don’t agree with restaurants using pre shredded cheese. It totally threw off the burrito which otgerwise could have been good. Burrito FAIL in my opinion. Asada burrito: tasted ok but when I tried it the whole bite was beans. Is I type this and ask her about it she is rattling off chain burrito places left and right that beat this burrito to shreds. When chain burritos win against a local«authentic» taqueria you have problems. Burrito 2FAIL!!! Ok so now that I have the burritos out of the way let’s get to the salsa bar experience. They have about 3 salsa and some other bits like peppers radish etc. Salsa bar clenliness: dirty!!! Most the salsa were close to empty and nothing wiped down. I felt like scooping from untouched sections of salsa for fear of getting contaminates involved. Here is the kicker. When we received our burritos my wife wanted to sample each of their salsas. This is usually not a problem but here they have an embargo on paying customers and their need for separate salsa cups. My wife was rudely directed to a impersonal sign o. The wall saying«one salsa cup per customer». When she got back to the table and mentioned this it prompted me to write this review. In this dya and age the amount we paid 21+ buclks for two burritos and two negro modelos we should get a chance to grab multiple salsas from their bar. This policy they employed has made me choose to stand against this institution with all my energy. I vow to never eat a taco sammich again. I urge all others to join my crusade for free salsa and abundant salsa cups for all paying customers. I’m a human being and I have rights!!! Just say no to salsa nazis. One star, and that’s it!!! I’m sure the bbq joint up the street with 100 great reviews will give me an extra sauce without worry.
