This was a nightmare of a dining experience. We came in here about 4 months ago with our new baby and 3 other kids and they seemed like that was such an inconvenience. They sat us right under a fan in winter with the baby and said that was the only clean table. The service was so poor I had to ask for more water 3 times and it tasted like dirty pipes. The salsa was definitely nothing to write home about but the kids liked the chips. I ordered a taco and enchilada combo plate and no beans just rice, and of course got beans on my plate. My husband ordered thr carne asada burrito and it looked and tasted way weird. So I traded him some of my food for a little bit of his, I think that was the worst mistake we made collectively. By the next morning we were both full blown food poisoning sick and didn’t know which it had come from. Also the bathroom was dirty and there was a sign posted by the toilet that said throw your paper towels and toilet paper in the trash, not in the toilet. I was hoping they were meaning sanitary items instead of toilet paper in the trash, but the way the place was it probably meant the toilets were busted. If you want an authentic mexican, as in dirty tiajuana no food prep laws authentic, then come here and feel like death warmed over the next day.

Kind of a dive, but food was good and inexpensive. Bathrooms were out of order.

The food is pretty good –I like enchiladas Suizas; flautas; chicken quesadilla. The environment is somewhat disappointing. This is a good location for a great Mexican restaurant — and they have enough space to do something good. The problem, like many restaurants in this area –is a lack of investment. To-go orders are sometimes problematic. Beef tacos become chicken tacos. Beef flautas become chicken flautas etc. The food is 3.5; the service is 2.0; the environment is a 1.5(floors in one area were dirty with food crumbs and the two servers were too busy to deal with it).

My taco was dry! Salsa was nice and spicy. Chips stale. My mom ordered guacamole and it seemed like they watered it down. Food did not seem fresh and environment dirty… floor needs to be swept. Waitress was nice. It wasn’t busy the waitress passed our table a few times and my glass was empty but probably since we are in a shortage of water that is why she didn’t refill my empty glass. Overall ok experience and great company.

Just passing through town and it was already after 8pm. Found this place open. It’s well lite, very extensive menu with pictures. We were greeted warmly, «yes, they are open.» I ordered a single taco with whole beans and rice. Was interesting… I ordered the«pot-beans» because i have found the whole beans to be vegetarian. I didn’t ask, but pretty sure not vegetarian. My husband ate his. I also thought the taco would be a warmed/soft corn tortilla. Wrong again. Crunchy and fattening. It all came with a very nice dinner salad. Cold salad, cold plate, cold fork. Perfect. I think i should have clarified what i was getting. This picky eater, should have known better. I am sure if you’re not a picky and vegetarian eater, you’ll like it.

Crappy food. Terrible service. Very poorly managed. It seems they bring you what’s convenient regardless of what you order

They need an option for zero stars. They only had two waiters to take care of the whole place; register, tables, bar. As a former waitress I know how stressful that can be carrying the weight of that responsibility so I don’t blame them for their not-so-friendly demeanors. The chips were good. The salsa tasted like it came out of a can. A tomato can to be exact. We asked for a spicier salsa and what they brought wasn’t any better. My mom never got her salad that she ordered. I ordered a tostada. They gave me beans in an awful taco salad shell. The beans weren’t so bad but it was topped with the stuff I specifically asked not to put. As well as some sauce that tasted like marinara. Weird. They forgot the sour cream I asked for. After asking two different people for it, once it came to the table my mom and I put it on our food. It was spoiled, smelled and tasted awful so now both plates were ruined. That was more than I could handle. They did accommodate me and take my meal off of the check but needless to say I will never go back.

Went to This poor excuse for a restaurant yesterday for lunch. Service was terrible, we sat there for 15 – 20 min waiting for the waitress to come get our order, she must have walked right by us about 5 times without even acknowledging us. I stopped going to this restaurant about 2 years ago because the food went down hill, I wanted to give this place another shot — I won’t be back until anytime soon…

The food here is amazing. My favorite chips and salsa come from here and the chile rellano is bomb along with the dinner salad(always order extra croutons they’re yummy)! But, the service kinda sucks. Depending on which server you get you’re lucky to get a refill on your drink. Majority of the staff is very friendly but just need to work on their serving skills and attentiveness. That’s why I give the 3 star, not due to bad for but ok service.

Las Palmas has never disappointed over the 15 years coming here. The chili rellonos are always so good. The chips are fresh, the salsa is fresh and spicy. It’s the only place we go to when we crave Mexican food. My fiancé orders the fajitas and is very impressed. Not the greatest décor inside but it doesn’t matter to us since the food is ALWAYS exceptional.

As today was my first visit I do not like to be too quick to judge but that being said, the food was simply so-so. We arrived late afternoon and there was only one person to act as waiter, busboy, cashier and bartender and the place was busy. He did his best and served us with a smile but we waited quite awhile for s mediocre meal.

Two stars only for the service, which was friendly and varied — by which I mean I think everyone working in the restaurant checked in on us at least once. BUT — the food was really not good. I think the salsa was from a jar(I agree with the dozens of other reviewers that have said this). The guacamole is terrible. It just can’t be fresh — because real avocados cannot possibly make something that awful. We both ordered the #36 — the Enchiladas Suizas — and both with just cheese enchiladas(yes, we’re just full of excitement). I love green(verde) sauce with enchiladas usually but this was cloyingly sweet. It was just terrible. I also ordered a peach margarita. It was an alarming orange shade that has absolutely nothing to do with peaches. The drink was strong(which I’m generally OK with), but it just had an unpleasant and frankly un-natural taste. I didn’t finish it… and that pretty much never happens. I recommend you«pass» on Las Palmas.

If you’re looking for the ambiance of a gas station bathroom and the thrill of eating questionably old food, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for food that is tasty and a restaurant that doesn’t make you feel uneasy, this place is not for you. I’m half kidding, but I won’t be eating here again.

Should have listened to Unilocal, this place is going to end up on kitchen nightmares. Weird to me you can screw up mexican food in Californian. My burrito came out in 90 seconds, and was covered in what I can only describe as gravy. Wait staff looked more interested in watching family guy behind the bar than providing a good experience. Seriously, don’t bother. Two stars for good chips and salsa.

Went here once, never again. When my husband and I dined here, he ordered beef enchiladas. He got chicken; he is allergic to poultry, but I saw the chicken before he took a bite. When I alerted someone to this I was glared at and the plate snatched away without a word. About 20 minutes later, beef enchiladas arrived. I would love to say it got better from there… but they were frozen in the center, soggy, and doused in waaay too much sauce. My home-cooking latino friends would die a little inside if they saw it. Not cool, man, not cool.

So not fresh! Bland & like slop on the plate. the presentation was awful, the service was poor-the people next to us got served in 5 minutes we got served in appr 25. Arroz Con pollo was like chicken soup. like stewed in a pot rather then sautéed.Bland&MUSHY. the chicken/onion mixture was just indescribably poor… I politely & with sincerity addressed mgr & asked he adjust the bill, they did.(charged me for the beans and 1 tortilla some shredded lettuce) I could not stomach the strange chicken & soggy partner mentioned food was rather like TV dinner than even decent Mexican. What was worse instead of apologizing, the manager stood there and defended himself by arguing w me. which further compromised his credibility as Restaurant Mgr
