Yuck, no flavor, no salt, no spice, very bland. Very disappointed with the food. Service was horrible too. Would not recommend this place. I am surprised that there are so many good reviews on Unilocal

Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I have tried in the area. There is only one other I can think of hat is better. Guess we got lucky today. The food was great. The chicken korma was awesome. Also got the eggplant and the spinach and cheese entrees. They were all excellent. I would eat here again and I would definitely recommend trying it at least once. I brought my two toddlers and they were fine eating in this restaurant. The service was pretty bad. The guy was not friendly and seemed to be bothered by our being there and when I was ordering. It was weird. Then when I mentioned to my husband that he was mean it seemed to turn his whole attitude around. Then he was nice towards the end. I am not sure. Maybe it was a cultural thing?

Great lunch specials! Naan was hot & fresh, tandoori was amazing, mulligatawny soup was incredible. Dipping sauces made it even better. Love!

Ended up here on a complete whim. Met a friend across the street to eat at a well reviewed spot but we were looking for a more comfortable place to chill, talk and eat and ended up here. I have lived in Mumbai(Bombay) and have always enjoyed getting my fix of Indian food. I wish their were Indian restaurant this nice on the westside(LA). I found the waiter and owner very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend the lamb biryani, the chicken tikka and the chicken korma. The food was clean, fresh and flavorful. I also highly recommend to ask for a traditional chai tea, it was excellent. Entrée prices for lunch were reasonable. I look forward to going back. Cheers!

2 stars to Asha. It was my first time really trying Indian food. I picked this place based on the Unilocal reviews and it was a disappointing experience. The younger male server(I can’t quite remember his name I believe it started with an S) was nice and attentive. However, the older male server was a bit rude. Anytime we had a question he would seem very annoyed and he would just brush us off and at one point literally pulled the younger server over to answer our questions and went to help the table behind us instead even though we caught his attention first. Overall, he was unhelpful and unpleasant. We ordered the lamb samosas, the cheese paneer, the garlic naan bread, and the lamb curry. I have to say the only thing I genuinely enjoyed and would come back for are the samosas. Everything else was very underwhelming. The cheese paneers were just batter, and the lamb in the curry was dry. Then when we asked for the bill they completely forgot and kept us waiting around. I don’t see myself coming again. Very disappointed with my first experience.

We were so hungry and food was soooo good, I forgot to take a picture . Had lots of food, we took the waiters recommendation. Tandoori chicken, shrimp with recommended curry, lamb with recommended curry and fish also with the recommended curry style . All were very good !!! Kumar the waiter was awesome. Nothing wrong here with the service, surprised about the negative reviews on service. House wine that comes when you check in was absolutely delish. So was the pistachio ice cream.

Fantastic group experience. We brought the company for lunch and they were very accommodating and the food was excellent, especially the tandoori chicken. Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. I ordered the mixed tandoori ala carte along with a side of garlic basil naan. Tandoori is my favorite indian dish and this was very tasty. Though the menu only listed tandoori chicken, Chicken tikka, lamb tikka, and seekh kabab, the sizzling plate that arrived also included shrimp and fish tandoori. Though I ordered ala carte the manager also brought me complimentary rice and soup. The garlic basil naan didn’t taste much different to me than regular garlic naan but was served hot and delicious. I found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for fans of Indian cuisine!

Great food, horrible service. The server slammed the food on our table actually! And never came back to check on us. The bus boy was great and he apologized

The best Indian spot in LA! I love it! The chicken tiki masala and lamb korma or unbelievable delicious. The garlic naan is also so amazing. The portions are big too! I usually go for the meat a la carte and order any sides I desire. The service is good, the waiter was always looking at our table, maybe since the restaurant was empty but I don’t know lol. The restaurant itself isn’t the nicest place, but it’s still clean. I like ordering delivery more.

Chose to order delivery for my boyfriend and I. I haven’t had Indian food in years and since we have been on an «exploring different cuisine» spree. I pretty much ordered what was recommended through Unilocal because I had no idea what would be good. Decided to go with the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb vinaldoo, Mixed vegetable coconut curry, and the Garlic nan. I placed an order for a precise time and it was definitely delivered roughly around the time. So I was quite pleased with that. Normally deliveries take forever. Everything smelled and looked amazing. I was hoping that the three entrees I chose was enough for the two of us. Which was more than enough. They also threw in a type of deep fried chip with a hint of lime? also, a few dipping sauces. I mean, hey it didn’t cost me anything extra. So, why not! The chicken masala would have to be my favorite in terms of spices and sauce that the chicken was in. The chicken was so tender and well cooked. The vegetable coconut curry was also my favorite! I liked the mixture of vegetables and I just wanted to feel a bit more healthy compared to everything we were eating? Mainly carbs and protein. haha. The lamb was tender too! but the sauce wasn’t my favorite. it seemed really oily too when you let it sit. I’m not a huge fan when it comes to oily things. The garlic nan was good! But the spices and everything was really messy and got everywhere… hahaa. I felt like the garlic flavoring could’ve been a bit more out there. I don’t even really like garlic, but I would’ve wanted more of a strong flavor. Overall, really delicious food. It is somewhat pricey, so I would consider this more of a «treat» or just to spoil my boyfriend. I wouldn’t mind ordering from here in the future.

Just ordered for a delivery and it was on time this the 2 stars. Having stayed in India for quite some time I crave for Indian food once in a while and it’s always difficult to find that Indian taste that you have learned to love. Food quality: below average. I don’t like the way it taste. I ordered for a mild chicken Karahi thinking it’s just the right amount of spice but it tastes bland and no flavor /seasoning same with mild chicken tandoori. The pratha was so greasy and crispy that it looks like it was fried. I used to enjoy pratha where it’s moist(not greasy) soft… The lassi was good. Price: too expensive for that taste. Other places are worth a drive and your money. I usually go to an Indian restaurant in parthenia /lindley… Truly an authentic Indian restaurant.

The food here is legit. We ordered the tikka masala and the chicken korma… both were delicious. Better Indian food than I even had in the UK or New York(where I had the best Indian food until now). I’ve finally found my Indian joint in LA! I’d have given this place 5 stars, but the service lacked a smile. Our waiter wasn’t rude, but he’s just one of those types who don’t smile easily. A quality I can appreciate, but not a good trait for waitstaff.

Was here a couple weeks ago and forgot to finish my review. The food was alright, not the best, not the worst. The prices were average for Indian, but they have killer lunch specials. However, the service was pretty bad. Our server got irritated that we didn’t know what we wanted, took three requests before we got any water, must not have told the kitchen that I wanted my dish medium spicy because it was not spicy at all, and was just generally kind of an a-hole. I thought maybe he was having a bad day, going through a divorce, had blue balls or something… So we gave him a way better tip than he had earned, which would have been like a dollar. He was very friendly with the table of Indians who were next to us, though, so I think he was just racist. We won’t be back.

This was the second time coming to this amazing Indian restaurant. I have no idea why it’s not packed because the food is amazing, the service is great and the atmosphere is unbelievable. If you are craving Indian don’t look any further and put this into maps and get directions asap. When you arrive ask for kumar and he will give the best recommendations.

Romantic atmosphere! Dim lighting… perfect for our 9:30pm dinner. Kind waiters — ask for Shah! Great food! Order: Chicken Makhani Daal Makhani Garlic Naan(ask to add butter) As a dinner comes with a real salad(no iceberg) and fluffy basmati rice. And chai to drink! Namaste, VO xx

Asha is serving up some very tasty and affordable Indian cuisine in the heart of the Valley on the south side of the oh so restaurant dense Ventura Blvd. They are a few doors down from Whole Foods so it seems parking in their small lot behind the restaurant and the street parking was somewhat limited. Lured by decent Unilocal reviews and a check in offer I decided to give Asha a try. Their check in offer was 10% off your total bill and they also have a $ 14 for $ 20 Unilocal deal. I didn’t pay much attention to the somewhat choppy reviews about poor service as I really don’t expect Indian dining to be about service but good freshly prepared food. Admittedly the service was a bit off and it took sometime to get our lipstick stained drinking water replaced with clean vessels. They were mildly busy and once we ordered things came out relatively quickly. The«Everything» Naan bread was incredible and bridged the gap until the mains made their way to the table. The Lamb Vindaloo was hearty, if not a bit sweet for what is usually the spiciest of Indian dishes. The lamb too was a tad uneven but the tender bites were simply spot on, a Jekyll and Hyde act of sorts. The potatoes were a touch under cooked as well. A good but not great rendition of LV. The Chicken Tikka Masala was perfectly cooked and not overly buttery as is often the case. The chicken itself seemed fresh to the dish and made to order vs. sitting around for some period of time giving it that awful«reheated» or recycled chicken taste. This was ordered medium spicy but was on the sweeter side so full spicy next time. Loved this dish. When you order a combo dinner it comes with rice and your choice of soup or a simple salad for a few bucks more. The service while not fantastic was certainly not horrible and the overall food had some standout flavors. Add in the Unilocal friendly dining discounts and the quality of the food and this place is a no brainer worthy of another dine.

I have been looking for a great Indian restaurant in the valley and I have finally found it! The last several places I have been to I have found rather bland, but everything we tried at Asha was extremely flavorful and delicious! I already can’t wait to go back. Servers are attentive, the ambience is intimate. I highly recommend the tiki masala!
