This is my favorite restaurant hands down! I’ve been to tons of restaurants including about 15 Indian restaurants. I Recommend(to name a few favorites on the menu): Baingan Bharta, Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, Naan. Also, when they bring out the complimentary papadam(Indian cracker thing), I recommend putting tamarind sauce(red sauce) and the pickled vegetables on the papdam.

My family and I have loved this place for over ten years. We used to be regulars there. Even though we have moved far away from the area, we still make it our goal to visit Taj Mahal as much as we can. Ever since we found it, it has not changed a bit. It has stayed the same for decades now. When we used to live near the area, there was one dish that we ordered every single time we visited: the Baingan Imami. No Indian dish has ever matched it. It cannot be found anywhere else; it is an original recipe. The soft eggplant with potatoes, onions and carrots along with mild spices has been our favorite Indian dish since the first bite. Food is excellent, service is very fast but task-oriented and kind of quiet. We’re lucky to have found possibly the best Indian restaurant on the west coast. Our other favorites up north in Portland, Oregon where we currently live are still no match for this place.

Wanted to update as my last review was years ago. My husband and I have been steadily ordering from Taj Mahal for years now and it is always delicious! Most of the time, the owner himself delivers the food. Whenever we have company and don’t feel like cooking dinner, this place is one of the first places on our list of considerations.

Tried this place last night for the first time with my boyfriend. I have been going to the same place for Indian food for years because, well, I guess I’m a creature of habit. Anyways, we figured we would give this place a shot since it was open and close to where we were at the time. I stuck to my usual dish which is chicken masala and the server asked me how spicy… I replied«very». To my surprise, it was very good and very spicy! We got big portions and the server even scooped our rice and chicken for us. He was very attentive and everything exceeded my expectations. I’ve tried a few Indian places in the valley and gave up finding one better than my «go to» but I will for sure give these guys my business when I’m in the neighborhood. In fact, my boyfriend went back today for seconds! See you soon Taj Mahal!

If your website offers you to order online, you should make sure it actually works. Wasted fifteen minutes trying to order from this place and the damn site wouldn’t work. The business didn’t apologize, they simply placed the blame on the person who hosts their website. Plus, they had no idea what coupons were offered on their site, and gave me a hard time about accepting them, before finally agreeing. That being said, let’s get to the food. Probably the most bland Veggie Samosas I’ve ever had. They were huge, and tasteless. The Entrees tasted good, but they won’t blow you away with flavor. Had the Chicken Makhni, and Lamb Korma. I’d probably come back if I’m really craving Indian, but I’m also open to finding a place with more flavor. The restaurant was also dead. One table inside, one outside. Not sure how long it’ll last with nights like that. Maybe they’d get more take-out orders if their website actually worked.

Absolutely LOVE this Indian restaurant! Great service! Great food! Always fresh and so very tasty. I’m a repeat customer and having tried several of the items… the Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala are my absolute favorites. It’s always a special treat to dine here… the décor is simple and the food is outstanding. You get large servings so left overs are an added bonus. You find the same portions and quality at any 5 star Indian restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Repeat customer here; Anytime I have a special guest or want to treat myself this is my favorite spot. The service is consistently excellent and the quality of food is unbelievable. My personal suggestions are the mixed appetizer which comes with plenty for 2, the chicken tikka masala, fresh naan, lentil soup, and curried muscles. I plan on dining here many more times!

We have been long time customers of Taj Mahal, over ten years. The food is fresh and flavorful, their Tikka Masala is out of this world! Unquestionably the best Indian food in the Valley.

I love the food here. The people aren’t very warm, but the food is so good, who cares?

Taj Mahal Indian cuisine — the Indian style food is ‘ok’ but not the Service. If they want to stay in business the owners had better train the staff or change the set up!

I was a bit skeptical of the area, only because it was a restaurant in a mini shopping mall, and a bit hidden away. However after the experience I was proven wrong. Firstly, the service was responsive and kind, we received a friendly greeting and were sat very quickly. The Waiters were always checking in to see if our drinks were filled and our appetites were sated. We ordered a mix of different foods, including a appetizer called Chicken Chat which looked like an Indian take on the Nachos… delicious by the way. We then followed it up with some Chicken Masala and an Eggplant dish … which didn’t taste like it at all and that’s a good thing! The prices were extremely fair, and if you keep an eye out on groupon you will also find deals for this establishment. If you are seeking a wonderful dining experience, with great service and finely crafted meals then this is your place!

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable considering how full I was by the end of the meal, and how good everything was. I love Indian food and will definitely be coming back for more from this restaurant! Favorite dish: I forget what it was called, but it was essentially ground lamb with spinach. Soooooo good! My only«complaint» is that I did not have room for dessert. :)

Before I gave my review I spent ten minutes trying to clarify the situation on the phone with you. The only thing offered was one free garlic naan. In most Unilocal deals it states before and after purchase that they don’t accept dine in or delivery. The one voucher per table is usually a standard on all deals(one voucher per customer sort of deal) I had zero issues with that being the case but the man I spoke with stated that it said no deliveries and it in fact did not. My husband even went to purchase it and when you go to purchase, it still did not state what you claim. I see that you changed it since my review which is smart because it states on the vouchers to the owner of the establishment that you cannot change things or come with terms that are not stated on there to the purchaser. To say per table is only in house is you coming up with a rule that was not properly defined. I am glad you fixed it however it still stands that we are out $ 15 that we wasted without getting any food… That’s the issue here.

My favorite Indian in all of LA. Baghan Barta — tomatoey eggplant mush. It’s incredible. Spread it on some naan and tuck in. Chicken korma — the chicken dishes here are always very moist. I think they use dark meat. Chicken korma is a great option for people who don’t like spicy and prefer something more creamy. Saag paneer — also exceptional. The spinach is watery or mushy at all. It’s like a soft green sweater cradling little blocks of cheese. Raita — a cold yogurt sauce. Definitely a must if you order a little too spicy. Like an Indian tziki. Front of the house always remembers me! I drive from the westside just to eat this food!

A simple Indian lunch buffet at $ 9.95. We also enjoyed the refreshing mango lassi smoothie with our lunch. Not anything out of the ordinary at Taj Mahal for their lunch buffet. It’s not a bad place to have lunch if you live and work in the area.

This is my favorite Indian/Pakistani takeout place. Best takeout food ever. Period. Really great butter chicken(creamy/tasty), veggie samosas, Tikka masala, biryanis… Yummy in my belly. Very tasty food. Extremely reasonably-priced. Can you ask for better? Please note that everything is made spicy so it’s best to ask for mild or medium if you don’t like it too spicy. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant given that the décor is somewhat lackluster. Family run restaurant with very quick service. Haven’t ever been disappointed. Too bad the food isn’t exactly healthy. Otherwise I’d eat it every week… No hesitations… Easy street parking. The green chutney sauce is a must try. Spicy but very good.

Came here for their Sunday champagne brunch special where they advertised over 20 items for $ 11.95. Let’s just say, it wasn’t as good as I thought it was… My friends and I were looking for a good Indian buffet place, and my friend had suggested she had gone to this one before. First thing I would like to note is that there is not«over 20 items«featured and the only exclusive ones they have on Sunday brunch is the fried chicken and Spinach and Lamb dish — the fried chicken was blah but the other one was pretty good. You won’t have worry about finding a seat as there’s plenty of seating and it’s not that busy on weekends. The parking is plentiful as there’s an underground garage which leads to an outdoor open-air lot — I can definitely see how during the week it can get really crowded. The restaurant is located in a 2-story plaza on the 2nd level; you can’t miss it as there’s a large sign facing Ventura Blvd. In terms of the quality of the food, I would definitely say I’ve had way better at other ayce Indian food places. The Tika Masala was not as creamy as I would’ve liked and the Tandoori chicken was just super dry. The food was not that good compared to the other places in the Valley I’ve been to. Also if you would like to save a $ 1 for the buffet, go online and print the coupon! Would I come back here again? Probably not.
