Very cute location, laid back dining, service was standard– good. Ordered a combo plate with chili relleno and enchilada with christmas sauce(red and green chili sauces). Served with pozole /hominy corn, pinto beans and corn tortillas. Chips and salsa were good– with a delicious guac side.

This place is POPULAR and TINY. Like, it packs out by 6pm. Seriously. And frankly, I’m not sure I’d wait for 2+ hours. The food is good, but I’d be well on my way to Hangry-ville after 2 hours and it’d need to be Red Iguana to make it worth that type of misery. Shout-out to their margarita — I was totally fooled and had no idea until my 2nd one that it didn’t in fact contain tequila or liquor. They don’t have any hard liquor, so it was a genius and magical blend using… wine! Mind blown.

This place is a must when we are in town. The chile rellenos, alone, are worth the wait. But everything is great, so get on the list, grab a drink and wait it out. It’s a really cute, really tiny place; especially in the winter when they can’t have the patio open. They also make you wait outside, even in the winter. But don’t worry, there is a bonfire and warming hut to hang out in. When they do finally call your name it’s like you won the lottery. It’s yours… a table at Orlando’s! Take your time… get a sangria… get some chips and guac… you put in your time for this table, make the most of it. What to get for your entrée? One of each… ok, maybe not. I strongly suggest something with a chile relleno on the plate. They are the best in town. And just enough heat without making you sweat — unless you’re a wimp and then you might a little ;) The shrimp enchiladas are also delicious and a nice change from the standard chicken or beef option at many other places. I also recommend getting whatever you order smothered Christmas(red and green). They are both great and this way you don’t have to decide. You don’t want to leave wishing you had ordered red, not green or vice a versa. Just get both, problem solved. Enjoy!

Maybe a new favorite Mex chow stop here. Probably an old house converted. Small number seating. I’m having blue corn tacos with beef and a green chile salsa. Friend having tomales. Everything is excellent as service. We sat at bar which worked great. Thanks folks. Well done here. Will definitely return.

Service was horrendous. Our family of 4 wanted to sit together, they seated a party of 6 before us. We decided to sit at 2 tables of 2, then a table of 4 opened up almost immediately. They refused to seat us at the 4, what the hell. No new customers had been seated in the interim.

This is one on the very best northern New Mexico restaurants in Taos. It is a must go to! Combination plate is killer. Tres colores is another favorite as is the camarones enchiladas. I highly recommend the caribe chile.

In town for some snowboarding and this joint had good reviews for dinner. I had the blue corn beef enchilada Christmas style(red and green sauce). Was going to order the chip, salsa, and guacamole, but man… for $ 6.75…not worth it. The entrée was ok. Nothing special and definitely not more than 3 stars. The white corn was new to me, but tasted like a cauliflower? The beef enchilada didnt leave a unique reminder of… wow this taste great. The service was hectic… the staff were friendly, but completely forgot about us after we ordered and after the food arrived. Difficult to ping someone when they are running around. Overall: skip this joint. Parking lot was packed and the restaurant was small. Food was ok. Other joints in Taos that could taste better.

Start off your meal with tri-colored chips and salsa and guac. The chips are tasty, guac is smooth and creamy, and the salsa just the right amount of spicy. I ALWAYS get the smothered beef burrito with green chile– it’s my favorite thing to eat in all of Taos! The beef is so tender and flavorful and the green chile is to die for! It comes with beans and pasole that are yummy as well. My family usually gets Frito pies, taco salads, and enchiladas, all of which are delicious. They have beer battered French fries that are out of this world! You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here!!! For dessert we usually get biscochitos and avocado pie. So good! I like the white chocolate dipped biscochitos. In the summer they have a great patio for eating outside and in the winter they have chairs around a big fire to stay warm while you wait for a table. If there’s a long line, stay! It’s worth it to wait for a table and food comes out FAST! Not to mention Orlando and Yvette(the owners) are just about the nicest people on the planet and Patsy has been cooking there since as long as I can remember! GO! You won’t be disappointed!!!

I thought the food was pretty good. Ordered Chile Relleno and a NM Happy Camper IPA and both were good. I really wanted a margarita but I think they make theirs with wine(aka no liquor license) so I didn’t go that route. My only complaint would be when the waiter comes by to take your drink order– He/She will ask if you want chips/salsa/guacamole super fast and very nonchalantly and you will probably automatically say«yes» because you didn’t hear them or you don’t want to be rude. It’s not free and you pay for it(~$ 8). We only didn’t complain because we were hungry and ate it, but if you aren’t in the mood… speak up!

They get it right here absolutely every single time. The enchiladas are heavenly, the chips and salsa and guacamole are perfect, the fajitas are incredible; the only thing I wouldn’t get is the vegetarian burrito — this place is not very vegetarian friendly. The atmosphere is so great and has a good community-feel to it, and the service is impeccable. The margaritas and sangria are both quite good as well.

Holy guacamole… This was the best chimichanga I’ve ever had. Perfect. My girlfriend and I had our first agave wine based margaritas, and they were surprisingly great. I can tell they don’t use a cheap margarita mixer. Well done! Another first: avocado pie. It was pretty cold, so if you’ve got sensitive teeth, beware! But, it was very good! Citrusy, creamy, and fresh. Good service, typical prices, amazing food. Cool ambiance. 5 stars for sure.

Very tasty and full of authentic flavors. Maybe I have a salt obsession, but I added a lot of salt to it. *NOHANDICAPACCESSIBLEBATHROOMS, they have a total of 8 tables that are accessible for dinner for handicap folks. Very challenging for a wheelchair, but worth the food if you’re patient.

We are here a year ago and it was so good we came back this year passing through Taos. Everything on the menu is great with fresh ingredients and tasty sauces. I had a combo which was delicious Christmas style. There are lots of great choices in Taos, this is one of the best. $ 38.00 for lunch for two with an order of chips and guacamole and a nice salsa… Excellent overall including the service.

So, this place had fair food, and our bill was $ 39. However, my credit card was charged $ 33, and my dinner companion’s card was also charged $ 25. Even after explaining the issue to three members of their staff, they still managed to further overcharge us. If you go, pay cash. I’m sorry to sound like a jerk about it, but if you use a credit card you’ll get screwed by the incompetent staff that cannot do basic math.

I’ve been there three times, at least. It is excellent. New Mexico cuisine is unique, and Orlando’s does it probably the best I know of. It’s a bit north of town, but worth finding. It’s also a bit small, so anticipate a possible wait. But don’t be discouraged. It’s worth the wait.

Thanks to Unilocal!we checked this place out. I had just driven several hours from Denver to meet my 2 best friends before camping in the nearby wilderness. The food was delicious and lived up to my expectations of New Mexican Mexican food. Green and red chili were flavorful, not too hot. The shrimps were friend and everything else was right on point. We all agreed this was a solid choice and that we would come back. The server was on her game and gave us 4 star service. Definitely a place to check out in Taos!

Great little café with a great patio tucked on the main road through Taos. Great spot en route to Sane Fe from Denver– Comes on just about at lunch time if you leave Denver in the morning! The patio is absolutely amazing, and the food is hot, authentic and delicious. I always go for the Blue Corn Enchiladas– this time with shrimp! Yummy!

Busy when we stopped by on a cool evening, late in the Winter. There was a fire pit roaring away in the front yard with chairs nearby so that you could keep warm as you waited for your table to become available. That was pretty neat. The chips were meh and the salsa was good. Quite firm with the tomatoes and I managed to do okay without dripping any of it on myself. The guacamole was excellent and there was a shedload of it in that bowl. Not very spicy at all, which meant that my Mom could enjoy it though I thought it needed more kick. For mains, Mom chose a cheese quesadilla and cleaned her plate pronouncing it «excellent.» I had the chicken burrito Christmas-style(that means it had both red and green chile sauce). Nicely marinated and shredded chicken that was tender and flavorful. The rice was well cooked and the pinto beans were great. I’m still trying to understand posoles which seemed like half corn and half chick pea [and if you know more about them, let me know!]. Service was okay. They were clearly busy as we arrived right at the end of the dinner rush. We were asked to wait 15 minutes for our table, but the table they eventually sat us at was empty when we arrived. Oh well.

Orlando’s has a reputation around town for being the best New Mexican cuisine you can find, and while I thought the food was quite good, I wouldn’t say it was epic or beyond anything that you could get in other towns… or even other states. It’s reasonably priced, with most entrees around the $ 12 to $ 14 mark, and our server was extremely friendly. My wife got chicken fajitas, which were quite good, and I got tres colores, which is an assortment of three different enchiladas: green chile, beef, and chicken. I think the only issue I had was that the shredded beef and chicken weren’t that great. I’ve had much better chicken and beef enchiladas. However, the green chile enchilada — that was amazing. I think if I returned, I would just get a couple green chile enchiladas. I wish they would have used the delicious grilled chicken my wife’s fajitas came with in my enchilada! That chicken was seasoned so well. We would totally come back, but I wouldn’t get anything with shredded chicken /beef again. I’d still to the green chile enchiladas, and my expectations would be set that this is pretty good New Mexican cuisine, but your mind isn’t going to be blown or anything like that.
