No longer open… I dunno as of when but I went to yo boys tonight November 2nd and it was closed with a for lease sign on the door. I’m assuming there closed and are no longer in business.

I’m from Ft. Lauderdale and we are abnormally packed with frozen yogurt shoppes that I was initially reluctant to come check this place out. I am glad I decided to come in here and check Yo Boys out. It was a hot Tampa day and I was craving something cold. This place is the bomb! I decided to get the peanut butter yogurt and it was so great! I don’t like getting the peanut butter at menchie’s because it doesn’t taste authentic but the peanut butter here was on point. I filled my cup half way with the delicious decadent peanut butter ice cream and added some chocolate sprinkles and it was only $ 2.50 and it was HEAVEN! The place was small so it might get packed but if you ever have the opportunity to experience Yo Boys, you better go! Enjoy :-)

I was lured in by the soliciting man out front. He remembered me from earlier in the day when I told him I was full and that I’d return later, maybe. He was so friendly I couldn’t say no again. I have a heart The staff was really kind and quite bubbly! They offered me free samples but I suckered myself into a purchase. This bubbly staff somehow suckered me into a second purchase. After I measured and scooped out my yogurt with all it’s accoutrements I smelled the taco area. Sold!!! I had to eat my dessert first while they made my tacos(el Cubano and the bacon guacadilla). My mother would be so upset My plain yogurt with the tiny gummi bears, fruity pebbles, moshi, marshmallow, and worms, hit the pretaco spot! The condiments area looked well maintained and clean and they has everything you’d see at your typical yogurt shop. The tacos were tasty and fresh. The guacadilla was great for me because I love avocado. If your aren’t a huge fan you will not be happy. They piled on the guac and I ain’t complaining. The girl spiced them up for me with fresh jalapeños. Rather intense but I’m a glutton for punishment! No complaints on this spot except the awkward layout

Yo Boys is just one of many of these new froyo places that have become all the rage– however, Yo Boys stands out among other bland and somewhat boring yogurt joints. This place is not part of a chain nor a franchise, but rather an independent outlet that serves up some frozen uniqueness. The location is in the heart of the Cuban-inspired neighborhood of Ybor City in Tampa, however, the décor is very New York City. Directions for making your own yogurt sundae line the walls like the map of the New York City subway map. First, you get a cup. Next, choose among any of the flavor options that line the wall. An endless rotating wheel of options– from Sweet Coconut to Peanut Butter to Cake Batter. No sugar added options like Vanilla and Strawberry. After taste-tasting a number of options, Chad settled for a mix of Irish Mint and Cookies and Cream. The next step is to hit up the toppings bar. Everything from Carob Chips to Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds. Chad went for the yogurt and Andes mint chips. I mixed the Dulche de Leche and Café da Leche flavors. Sweet milk and coffee and I topped my yogurt with Chocolate Rocks, a candy from my childhood. The next step is to step to the counter and have your concoctions weighed. Normally this is the part where you cringe and roll your eyes as you realize you have just built a $ 14 frozen yogurt sundae. However, we were pleasantly surprised when both of our desserts came in at under $ 9 combined. This place had so much character and I loved the wide selection of flavors. Yo Boys window This was a great post-dinner joint to grab some dessert and watch the rest of the action on busy 7th Street. And speaking of dinner, Yo Boys has started to venture into the meal arena. They have started offering tacos and other Mexican fare during lunch and dinner. Seems like a fun place to come grab a taco and a some frozen yogurt and relax on one of the couches. I can’t vouch for the tacos but I can sure endorse the yogurt! LOVE!

I stopped by here with my son last week and was delighted with their selection of flavors and toppings. First and foremost, I must say that the staff was awesome! My son had such a great time and they helped him with everything. We both sat and enjoyed our yogurt in their cozy seating area. I would go back in a heart beat.

Had a little problem with the scales the first time we went but I talked to the manager and he offered a resolution to our problem so in my book that’s all that matters as far as fixing a problem for your customer. And the yogurt is delicious with tons of toppings(and bottoms!) for you to choose from. Just a little expensive in my book which is keeping it from 5 stars.

Great service and amazing yogurt! This guy was already closed, saw us come to the window and re-opened just so we could have our«fix!» I’m so happy someone finally opened up a fro-yo shop in Ybor City!

Following in the footsteps of Yogurtology and a plethora of other Yogurt establishments, Yo Boys is the newest local edition of the modern day yogurt shop. They have a myriad of flavors to choose from, and an equal amount of toppings. What I like about Yoboys: 1. The location in Ybor is awesome for me, we don’t(to my knowledge) have another froyo place like this in the Heights so this addition was good ever since Marble Slab folded. 2. The yogurt flavors are good, not as good as Yogurtology, but that bar is set pretty high. 3. They are open LATE, I could get my froyo on at like 10PM no problem. What I don’t like: 1. The logo, I know it’s terrible and trivial, but I hate that pseudo graffiti font. 2. Some of the toppings were out, especially one of my diet fad faves –almonds. 3. The location late at night means the following, drunks and bums, niether of which I’m a fan of dealing with when I just want some froyo. All-in-all Yoboys is all good in my book, and when I’m hankering for a quick fix of Froyo this is my go to when I want to keep it local.

Alright! Saturday night yogurt stop after a concert at the Ritz. The Line Up: Cake Batter with waffle crisps, candy, candy, hot fudge, peanut butter(me) Chocolate with brownie, chocolate, chocolate & more chocolate candy & marshmallow sauce. The Verdict: Pretty decent fro-yo, everything was clean, cute décor. They had cereals for add ins! That was a unique option & I liked that they offered options to start your paper bowl with cone type ingredients. I have no issues stopping in here again, especially since they are open LATELATE on weekends for the Ybor masses. The mgmt/owner asked if we were locals & gave us 50% off for the grand opening this week, plus I noticed a bit late that with a Unilocal check in, 50% off there, too. WHOOT! Prices are comparable to You Say When, Yogurtology, etc. I noticed some deals on Living Social/Groupon not long ago, that’s how this place popped up on my radar. I didn’t purchase because the amount to spend was over 20.00. As much as I am a sweets oinker, there is NOWAY I could spend that with me & my bf and take home isn’t a bright option in FL or feasible if plowing around Ybor. Gimme gimme more… deals, Yo Boys! Thanks for the late night sweet treat :)

My husband and I walked in to YoBoys on a whim and will not be returning. We were told $ 0.55/oz., so we both filled our cups only a third or so full. We put them on the scale and they, combined, weighed 10 oz. She charged us $ 10, which we thought was strange. Then a friend went and came back out and said hers was 9 oz and she only paid $ 5. My husband went back in to correct the situation and they said they had rung us up correctly and would not give us our money back. We will not be returning.
