This is just an average bar but what’s nice is that they have bar games — a huge jenga and connect four. The night that we were there they sorta had a karaōke thing going on which was also entertaining. It’s always fun to watch drunk people on a mic :)

DOESNTEVENDESERVE1STAR! WORSTSTAFF/SECURITY ONSOUTHHOWARD! Intolerable and self-entitled boys working the front and deserved to be fired for the behavior and«customer service» treatment I witnessed tonight, it completely ruined my groups evening. I will never return to this tasteless and embarrassing establishment run by ignorant fools or so called«security». Management needs to step up their game and hire more honorable people for their so called«security». and I’ve enjoyed this bar for years with many, many friends. But for anyone willing to listen to me, I will make sure they know not to come to Yard of Ale.

«Nice bar with a great vibe. decent happy hour specials and games» Stopped in at Yard of Ale to have a Blue Moon on special($ 3 for weekend and $ 2 on weekday happy hour). It’s in a up and coming area. Nice outdoor bar and area with corn hole board and connect 4 game(1st time ever seeing that at a bar). Inside is a rich wood feel with big Jenga game and upstairs seating. Place and people gave off a positive vibe. Would go there again. If you don’t like it there are many other places very close.

It is so nice that people can go up to sing karaōke. It is so fun. I didn’t sing but it is fun to watch and dance. The bartender was nice. Atmosphere is nice. The only bad thing is about bathroom. No sink and can’t wash hands… really?

Great spot in South Tampa for fun fun fun! On Saturdays, you’ll enjoy Karaōke and a mixed crowd of locals and tourists as well as one of the best DJ’s in the Bay area, K-Bob. You can enjoy the karaōke inside, or check out the wrap around deck on the outside of the building ANDTHEYDOHAVEVALET Parking

Nestled in the center of SoHo’s bar scene, Yard of Ale offers a great selection of draft beers and a full bar. There are 24 beers on tap and over 50 bottles and cans to choose from. Pub food is also available, although I’ve never tried anything they offer. On any given weekend, you will find a full house at Yard of Ale. I would say that the atmosphere caters to mostly college-age patrons, in the 20s-30s range. You will regularly find this bar as a stop on SoHo pub crawls. Happy Hour is available Monday through Friday from 4:00 — 7:00pm. There’s a great patio area where you can play cornhole, giant Jenga, and Connect 4, although you may not find all of the pieces needed to play. The service certainly isn’t top notch either, but you’ll find that to be the trend with SoHo bars. NIGHTLYSPECIALS: Monday: $ 5 Moscow Mules, $ 4 Fat Tire drafts, $ 7 pizzas Tuesday: Hospitality Night — 2-for-1 drink specials and half off food for hospitality workers Wednesday: Trivia Night — $ 4 drink specials on yards, Three Olives, and house wine Thursday: County Night — $ 3 Miller, PBR, Yuengling, and Fat Tire solo cup drafts/$ 10 open bar from 9−11pm on the same beers, wells, and house wines Friday: $ 5 for Sam Adams & Angry Orchard drafts, Cuervo shots, and small pizzas Saturday: Karaōke Night & $ 10 yards Sunday: $ 0.50 wings, $ 2 Miller drafts, $ 4 Blue Moon drafts, & $ 5 Jack Overall, my experience with Yard of Ale has been good. It’s a little overcrowded but it’s fun once you can grab a table. I’d like to check it out on a Sunday during football season and try their baked wings. All of my visits so far have been on weekend nights, so I feel as if I can’t give it a fair shake until I test more of their menu. On a somewhat related note: I once forgot to get my debit card back when I closed my tab at the end of the night. The staff was really helpful in verifying my identity and holding my card until the next night when I could make it back to pick it up. I was understandably stressed out about potentially having my bank information at a stranger’s disposal, yet the process of getting it back was simple and much appreciated.

Ugh… I had high hopes based on some of the previous Unilocal reviews. I went here with DH and two grown sons and from the moment we walked in we probably should have walked out. We arrived right when they opened at 12p and when we walked into the dining room it was still dark. There was an employee sitting at the bar and I asked her if they were open yet and she said yes, and then went back to Facebook or solitaire or whatever on her phone. I asked if we could sit outside and she said sure, so we went back out the front door and to the patio. We Sat at one of the high top tables and had to move after we tried to sturdy it with no success. Out waitress seemed bothered by our existence and the food was mediocre at best. This is clearly a college night time hot spot and not someplace that is used to serving families for lunch.

One of my favorite casual bars in Tampa(South Tampa). The food is surprisingly really great and they always have good drink specials going on. They have lots of games too; cornhole, darts, jenga, and large connect four. Cheers

Outta all of the times I have been in SoHo I frequent this watering hole because of my corn hole games on Wednesday evenings with Club Sports. I like the outdoor bar where Greg knows me by now and what beer to already get when I arrive(Jai Ali). Great prices a decent amount of televisions outdoors while you can people-watch those going to MacDintons. If you want to get your group gam on, there is an adult-sized Jenga and connect-four game on top of the corn hole in the front. Of course writing this review is based off my experience coming here only on Wednesday’s for my event and this place does die down tremendously after my corn hole games. I cannot speak about their food because I never had it but haven’t heard of any complaints yet. I would recommend this place on a weekday over weekend because anywhere in Soho is absolutely crazy with college(UT) students and pakring can be an issue in this small area.

Overall I would give it a two but the service was kind of nice so it gets a three. We sat outside and the bartender was a cool guy. We ordered food, I got the chicken souvlaki sandwich and my friend got a hot buffalo chicken melt. My food was bland and boring. No flavors that really popped. And her food was not at all a warm buffalo chicken sandwich, it was a cold turkey sandwich and then the bartender replies that they have hot sauce but no buffalo sauce. What??? I asked about their buffalo chicken pizza and he says its just topped with the same green hot sauce… So why not take it off the menu if you don’t have it… It was a slow night… Nothing special about this experience but 50 percent off hospitality tonight so that was nice. We saved a lot. If I had to pay full price I would have rated this a one.

UGh. This place was such a dissappintment. In Florida for a vacation and wanted to go out on our last day which it all started well at the bar across the street but then made the haphazard choice to come here. Bartender was quite rude, I had asked for mixed drinks, didnt even ask what grade liquor, when he told me he didnt know what one of the drinks even was. he just made up his own mixture and ended up getting us quite sick. My friend only ordered about 5 drinks and somehow came out with a bar tab around $ 80. Incorrectly charging us in the end? No thank you. Most rude/pathetic bar ever.

Great place to play life sized Jenga, Connect 4, Corn hole, and enjoy a yard of ale! There are 20 craft beers on tap &75 bottled beers so there’s really something for everyone! Monday’s are Margarita night with $ 7 margarita yards & $ 2 beef tacos, Tuesday’s are 2−4−1 night with half off food, Wednesdays are Trivia night with $ 4 draft yards & wines, Friday’s is live band night, Saturday’s are karaōke night with $ 10 liquor yards(long island, sex on the beach, margarita, & punch), Sunday’s are wing night with 50 cent baked wings, $ 2 Miller lights, $ 3 heinekins, & $ 4 blue moons! There is valet parking for up to 10 cars that fills up quickly. I recommend valet parking at Macdintons or self parking off Armenia and Horatio and walking over. Attire is casual. Shorts, sneakers, and flip flops are okay. Dancing is only on nights when there is a band. Not suitable for kids or grandma! Ambiance is of a typical no frills bar. A plus is that this place doesn’t get so packed it is hard to move like lodge and Macdintons. Crowd is 20s-30s. More chill vibe than Macdintons or Lodge. This place is not too busy during the day but has been getting a lot more popular lately. There is sometimes a line to get in that at the max will take 5−6min of waiting to get in. Service was quick and courteous although when it gets busier expect for a little bit of a wait. The 50cent baked(not fried) wings on Sunday’s are awesome! I highly recommend them!

Great local watering hole. They have an excellent craft beer selection, great prices, and quick service. The atmosphere is a college debach bar time warp. They even have two large human sized Jenga towers. This place is filled with drunken-rowdy Sunday Funday NFL fans and single 20 – 30 something’s who share a love for binge drinking. Not the classiest bar goers, but if you want to feel like your back in college again and pound shots of fireball, this is the place for you which is too bad because their craft beer program here is phenomenal. The reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bar goers here don’t match the level of class and sophistication of the craft beer menu and the bartenders do not make an effort to highlight, educate, and up sell on their spectacular craft beer menu from some of the top craft brewery’s, Dogfish Head, Stone, Unibroue, Lefthand Brewing Company, and Abita(sans root beer, sad face). Kudos to whomever runs the beer program here. After a rowdy bar goer kept knocking into me at the bar, I offered to order his drink for him. I asked what he wanted and he said«Guinness, I love stouts». As a fellow stout enthusiast, I was the one who initiated ordering him a Left Hand Milk Stout which he in turn loved, as any devout stout drinker would appreciate this American crafted stout. I asked him if he had been to this bar before, he responded yes, a number of times. Shocking that had never heard of Left Hand Milk Stout as someone who frequents this watering hole, clear reflection of the bar staff here and their level of sales and product education and effort. I am hoping I was just here on an «off day» and that the bar tenders here actually know and appreciate the special beers in which they carry and in fact know how to properly sell them. Upon my visit, I was the one that had to ask for my Strongbow cider to be served in a glass over ice, this should be spec and asked to each customer that orders this imported cider as this is the traditional form in which it should be enjoyed. I am sure I will be back here, but when I return, I hope to see more craft beers in hand. Important note to self, I will not be driving upon my next visit so that I can be on the«same level» and the rest of the bar goers here.

As I wrote earlier in the summer, the good thing about pub crawls is that they take you to bars you would not normally patronize. I remember many moons ago when this used to be a coffeehouse and a gelato place. Damn I miss it! The Yard of Ale SoHo has been around for quite some time now and I just have never had the inkling to step foot in it. This is another bar in SoHo that is normally jam packed with douchebaggery. The last time I was here, I met some fellow Unilocalers prior to an event and drank outside ha ha! I had a good time here this past weekend during the 4th Annual SoHo Zombie Pub Crawl. The DJ was good and this bar is quite spacious. The bartender I dealt with was friendly and efficient. Would I come back? I am leaning towards yes. I would like to see how this place is during an uneventful weekend. I would also like to try their food and see if it is just as good as their counterpart in Clearwater.

In the immortal words of Benjamin Franklin, «Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy». Assuming this to be true, I wonder what Benjamin Franklin would say about the weekend celebrations in Soho? Yard of Ale sits right in the heart of «Frat Boy Central»(some would refer to this part of Soho as the«D-bag District» of Tampa). Needless to say, there are a lot of bars in this stretch of South Howard Avenue — between Platt and Swann, and the partying can get quite intense and outrageous on weekend evenings. On a recent weekday evening several Unilocalers gathered at the outside bar of Yard of Ale for a cold Adult beverage before a Unilocal event at the nearby chocolate factory. We happened to be there in time for their Happy Hour pricing on a variety of different draft beers, and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Yard of Ale advertises over 20 craft and import drafts on tap and 75 different bottled beers to choose from. They also serve affordable wine’s both by the glass and by the bottle, and a full liquor bar. The staff is very friendly, and our bartender, Gen, was quick to pour the beers into plastic cups so that we could sit on the outside deck without fear of breaking the glasses. The action on the patio includes larger-than-life Jenga, Connect Four, corn hole toss, and a variety of board games. Later in the evenings, the action on the deck includes fist bumps, belching contests, and WoooooooooHoooooooing Co-eds. Great place for Happy Hour, but I’ll get out of there before the 20-somethings over-run the place at night.

Bumping YOA up to a 4 star because I’ve been back several times over the last year due to it’s location. We might have been kicked out on St. Patty’s day because the mega jenga set falling down was«scaring» some yuppie’s poodle, but we live and let go. The barstaff here is pretty friendly, and their food is actually really good. I’m a huge fan of their wings for two reasons. 1, they’re only 50 cents on certain days. 2, they’re baked, not fried. It’s a bit insane how good they are considering they’re not submerged into a vat of cooking oil. Also, their pizza is pretty solid. A lot of bars these days are offering up flatbreads, but not here. These guys actually make real pizzas(see pic). On Tuesdays, the pepperoni and cheese pizzas are only $ 5. Not a back deal for a 12″ pie. Be sure to ask the bartender what the beer of the month is. They feature a lot of brews that you won’t find at many bars. Harpoon’s UFO, for example.
