Very basic, overpriced. Use to be good when they opened. Unfriendly staff. Way better options in soho I’d rather spend money on

Bartender was cool. They opened up early, made us good drinks, gave us free shots, and didn’t refuse us because of our tank tops.

A simple fun place at the right night. I suspect anything can happen here. This was my first time here, I conclude with not much special here, but thing for sure I absolutely love that I can play the game flip a coin and guess correctly of heads or tails and you are rewarded with purchasing your beer for 50 cents on Friday night until 10pm. My tip was larger than my actual bill. You can’t beat that. Awesome starter place for fun night in Soho. Take a chance by paying for drink for 50cents.

After the drink specials, they gave me some advil to nurse the future hangover. Joe is the best bartender in SOHO.

A horrible and strange experience at a bar down the street was changed into a fun and happy time by the Soho Tavern crew! Friendly service and a shoulder to lean on! They know what good customer experience means! Also, make sure you ask for the coin toss!

This bar turned a bad situation into a group of happy customers. Joe is a solid bartender and the hospitality expressed in the bar was above and beyond what is normally expected. A great night had by all. Great drinks, decent music, and a bar tab that won’t leave you cringing. P. S. Ask about the 50⁄50 coin flip with your drink. If you answer heads or tails correctly you get it for 50 cents.

SoHo Tavern is a minuscule bar on the corner of Howard and Platt. This is another bar located in SoHo, so if you have read any of my past reviews, you know what that means… YEP…You got it… DOUCHEBAGGERYABOUND! The first thing we noticed when we walked into the bar the night of the 4th Annual SoHo Zombie Pub Crawl was an awful smell. It smelled almost like raw sewage. The people who we were with had already bought a drink, so we sucked it up and bought a drink, too. The staff here has always been friendly, so that makes this bar tolerable. Maria was our bartender on this visit and she was incredibly sweet. Plus, she makes a good jello-o shot too. I don’t plan on trying the food here. Especially when there was that awful smell when we walked in. Also, the restroom situation sucks. There are only two restrooms… TWO. So, it is safe to say, you will always be waiting in a line. This bar is so small that it gets unbelievably packed very quickly, and restroom line is not a pretty one.

Honestly, La Chica and I only stumbled in here because WoB and Yard of Ale were ass-to-elbow during the Bucs game Sunday. What is it about crossing Platt that makes the businesses less crowded? People are focking lazy, I guess. Not us though because less crowded was what we were going for. Bad for business, good for us. We walked in and were able to get a seat right in front of the tube. Comfort level: 7. We ordered up a pitcher of Coors Light and some Soho Signature Wings and chilled watching the game. The beer was cold and the wings were freaking scrumtrulescent. Some of the best wings I’ve ever had, actually. Not for their size either, but for the flavor combination. I added a pic, but try to go sample them for yourself. Staff was okay. The bar area was pretty busy both inside and out due to the awesome weather, so I feel like we were forgotten about. I had to get up and walk over to the bar 3 times for service. Not cool. Atmosphere was a bit dingy. They really should clean up the place a bit and possibly repaint some of the walls. The bathroom smelled like stale piss. It made the truck stop bathroom off I-75 near Bushnell smell like a god damn Yankee Candle shop. Somebody please sanitize that bathroom. That little air freshener under the sink ain’t doing nada, except looking stupid. Bottom line, every area has a dive bar, and this is Soho’s for sure! Great place to grab a bite and watch the game.

For a first timer here I’m appalled at my first impression. Keep in mind I am not a complainer nor do I write reviews but after last night I created a account just to write this. I came in around 12am Tuesday the 30th of September. I am a bartender myself and worked a long shift earlier that night. when I came up the black hair bartender inside just stared blankly, I told her my order and she came up askingn for money but yet not saying a word, just looking. I gave her 15 $. She never came back, I finally asked her how much they are, she said 4.50 $ each. So ok I want my change. I accidently spill my drink after a clumsy person behind me and she gave me attitude and then threw me a towel. I tried to explain how I am very sorry and she flipped around and said«what did you say» I repeat im sorry. After her making my drink I simply state«you are not very nice«and she FLIPSOUTONME. She throws me a 20 $ bill.(I made 5 bucks out of this ordeal) and says to trot my white ass out of the«fucking bar» then as I left bewildered she kept mocking me. I am appalled at her behavior when I’m simply a nice girl wanting a drink. She made me leave in tears. I will tell everyone I know what a shit experience I had. She has cunt of a bitch soul.

Great South Tampa location. Right in the hub of all the weekend buzz and perfect for those looking for a more low-key bar that allows flip flops and t-shirts. The dilemna is — the air conditioning unit was either broken or didn’t work well. There was little to no circulation at all in the bar, and was actually cooler outside than inside. On the weekends, parking will be a challenge so be prepared to bring some cash.

I haven’t dared to eat here yet, but this is a great place to skip by on a crawl. I’ve had fine service, and it’s just another bar in the armpit of Courier City, BUT that’s why it belongs here. This place is exemplary as the armpit of Soho, and I won’t shy away fro their horribly kept billiard tables. Ever.

I’ve been to Soho Tavern a few times and have had a great time each time. I will say that this place does look a little less than appealing from the outside and is very cramped and small, but the vibe always seems to be upbeat and they have good music. The DJs that have been there on a few occasions have also been very good at keeping the crowd going. It can be a bit hard to get a drink at one of the bars at peak times so bring your patience. The small outdoor area is a good escape if it gets too crowded inside and you can also access the bar there if it’s too packed inside.

I don’t know about the food at Soho Tavern, as I have only gone here for beverages. This is not the nicest bar in the world. It is somewhat of a dive but if you are looking for good drink specials and a juke box(2 of my criteria for a spot for beverages), it is a good spot. The thing about Soho Tavern, I just always have a really good time here. I don’t know what it is about it, there is really nothing special about Soho Tavern, but for I cannot remember NOT having a blast at the Tav.

It’s just a dark dive bar… I sat on the patio and the music was still so loud outside we were screaming at each other. Once is enough for me.

This bar is just okay. Nothing really stands out about it. It’s small, hard to move around from one end to the other on a busy night(I never understand why they let more people in these places than they can actually hold). I had a beer, which you can’t really mess up since it comes in a bottle. Didn’t order any food or anything else. It’s pretty much just a hole in the wall with a great location. And sometimes you can get lucky and find a parking spot here, stop in for a drink, and then move along to another bar. I would be willing to try the food another time, but nothing really calls to me about this spot.

Don’t be discouraged by the outside look of the bar. This bar is a Tampa staple, much like the hub. They have your usual liquor selection, a bit of a limited beer selection(much like every other bar in the area besides WOB and Dubliner), but one thing I was really surprised by was the food. Sure its no Burn’s steak house, but there sandwiches are surprisingly tasty, as are their meatballs and their mac and cheese. Quiz night on Wednesdays is a lot of fun. Prizes consist of cash to spend there, and sometimes money to spend elsewhere as well. Of course, this is during the day. At night during the weekend they usually set up a hot dog stand out front. They have two bars inside, and the crowd are usually left overs from the rest of the bars on Howard. Bartenders are usually friendly. It is definitely not my first destination but has often been my last.

ehhhh… a bar that serves drinks at upscale prices and has some food. Nothing really notable except that it has survived at an intersection in SoHo that has heavy turnover of failed bars/restaurants on the other corners. So others must like it and I will not get in their way.

It just seems there’s something missing at Soho Tavern. Maybe it’s the lack of food, or lack of space, or lack of something like an interesting drink or drink special, but it could be so much more. It’s a bar… and that’s about it. And a crowded one without a lot of places to sit as well. Went there last night, and had a couple beverages while a DJ played in the background. The music was fine, and so were the people, as was the atmosphere. But it certainly wasn’t anything special. There’s not a lot of space to maneuver, and I spent a bunch of the evening trading one seat with my date as we went back and forth from the restroom. Music was a good volume so we could actually hear each other, which is nice, but that shouldn’t be the standard by which you judge a bar. Flavored vodka and Sprite’s were $ 6 a piece, which seems pretty reasonable for SoHo, and I’ve never had any food that’s not the hot dog and hamburger grill that’s outside the bar itself(which can be quite amazing after lots and lots of booze). But it just seems like this place could and should be something more memorable and special.

Much like The Lodge, Tavern has a fair amount of runoff from MacDintons so there is a pretty similar crowd on the weekends. Having to choose between the 2, however, i’ll take Tavern all day. It’s a pretty small place but still has plenty of room to move around. 2 full bars & some hit or miss bartenders make for varying levels of service but it’s usually pretty good. There is either a DJ going or they have a jukebox depending on the night. The patio area outside usually has a limited mobile bar so you don’t have to go inside if you don’t want to lose your seat.
