Been coming here for three years. Under new management. Same menu but the food has really slipped, and so has the service. Never again.

My girlfriend and I — both 22 years old — were staying at the Barrymore Hotel and decided to visit the Waterworks bar and restaurant in the lobby for lunch. We arrived to an empty restaurant and were told to pick a seat. There were three servers. My girlfriend and I saw the menu on the table and quickly decided what to order. We waited for ten minutes, but were not approached by a single server(they were all standing by the bar watching TV). After the ten minutes, an older set of patrons walked in and were immediately serviced. They were quickly greeted, sat next to our table, brought waters, and soon has their orders taken. After another five minutes, the older patrons sitting next to us had their soups brought out, while my girlfriend and I continued to be ignored, presumably due to our age, in this otherwise empty restaurant. Frustrated by the lack of service, we left. I would rate the food, but I never tried it — I wasn’t afforded the opportunity to even order it.

Had breakfast here. It was a bad buffet but what do you want for $ 12.00 for an adult. Bacon cold, sausage was old, scrambled eggs looked they made them from powder. Pastry is typical Sysco frozen stuff. There was no service to speak of. Since this is one of the few things within a half mile I guess they feel they have a captive audience. Sad because the hotel seems to have done a lot to improve from the reviews we read. Looks like they need to work on their food and beverage department.

If your going to a show get there before 5:30. Initially they only had 8 or so tables. When they filled up the next room was opened and the wait time for food from the kitchen increased dramatically. The food was good. Service not as well. My son and I were served but wife and a salad and grilled chicken took a bit more time. Food was good overall. Limited menu and no atmosphere. Enjoy the show. Eat home or come early.

This place is really great! I’m working at the Straz Center across the street and have consistently enjoyed everything I’ve had here. As they get busier, I hope that they add an extra server on theatre nights because this can turn into a great gem for patrons! The wings are delicious and the crab cakes are some of the best I’ve had! Not like«hotel bar» food at all! Enjoy!

I’ve been here a few times, now. The first 2 times were good. I had a portobello mushroom dish that was tasty and they had Jai Lai on draft, so that was a plus. The last time, they had changed their menu, the service was very slow, and no IPAs. We ordered some«nachos» and what we got were chips and salsa with ramekins of jalapeños and sour cream. It was strange, to say the least.

The food is consistently good. Salmon entrée and the chicken quesadilla are my favorite. Great place to get food and a drink before a show at the straz center.

Nice bartenders– we stopped in for a pre-show drink, as this place is right across from the Straz. The first 3 beers we ordered were not available but on display & then the carbon for the kegs was not working properly. But, good attitude and friendly service made up for the issues and lack of selection.

I’ve been coming here once a month for the last 7 months. I have season tickets to the Straz center and with kids I had to find someplace to eat that was nearby. It is located inside the Howard Johnson hotel(which is across the street from the theatre), but that does not take away from how good the food is. Between my kids and I we have eaten a huge variety from the menu and everything has been great. My kids love how thy have«really comfy sofas» we can sit at and still have dinner. They started off with slow service(but since I got there early enough it didn’t detract from my experience) but the longer I’ve been coming they are recognizing how busy they can become and have more people working. My only detraction is for 7 months the special in Thursday’s is 5.00 anything blue. Well personally I do not like fru-fru drinks so I am sol.
