Martini Republic

I believe Martini Republic is now closed and the location is the new Kova Sushi. And Kova is now closed. I believe this space is now part of the John Rolfe empire. Hopefully good things will come to it. Nice little downtown venue.

Wow. This was a horrible place. Stopped by at 10:30pm craving a martini. Doorman tried to charge each of us a $ 10 cover. I explained we were just looking for a great martini and then we were leaving. He was very nice and said, no problem if we were leaving before the DJ started.
Pleasantly surprised I ordered a Ciroc martini with a lime at the bar. She return back with a plastic cup of vodka barely chilled with two limes attached to the side. When I asked about the martini glass, she laughed and said, «Oh… Ok…» She poured the contents into a true martini glass (which filled less than half the glass) and walked away saying nothing with an annoyed look on her face.
While I debated whether or not to say something about the lack of drink I paid WAAAAY too much for… Her co-​worker poured a perfect martini and actually topped off this pour for a customer next to me. When I waited for her to come back to the bar, she was too busy texting someone in her phone to care about my terrible/​half size drink she poured.
I won’t be back. Neither will any of my clients or in town guests. Don’t waste your time here. Music seemed tempting, but service vs. drink/​prices is NOT worth it.

Great live music on the patio. They have a great new Happy Hour special– $ 5 Martinis and Margaritas 5 – 9. I haven’t been inside yet, but it seems the outside draws and different crowd than the inside.

I was very surprised at how dead this place was on a Sunday night. By reading other reviews I chose the wrong time to experience Martini Republic and should possibly return some time in the summer.

This place is pretty busy in the summer. I love the outdoors section, great music, strong drinks, hooka, and good looking people of all ages.

Ok, let me start off with my friend DJ mad maxx spins here. That being said this place is another hit or miss. I have been here in the summer when the outdoors part of the club is ideal and it was amazing it was packed the music was blazing and beautiful woman everywhere (I am married but I do have eyes).lol. On the flip side I have been in the winter when it was the opposite… drinks are strong and the smoke bar is cool and I will be back. Not because my friend is the DJ but because I enjoyed each time I went here. I recommend for any age but if your older and not looking to be surrounded by a bunch of kids this is your place.

Sadly this bar didn’t make the cut. I don’t know if it was because we went on a Sunday night but it was lethally dead. We went labor day weekend around 10pm and there was probably 20 people there total, and we were 3 of them.
It’s sad because the outdoor patio has a lot of potential, but it was worse than the inside. There wasn’t even background music playing.
I think this place will be gone within 6 months.

The service and the drinks were terrible. They have no menu and act offended when asked about specials. Of the few people that came in while we were there, they left in a short time & went up the street… we saw several at The Fly Bar later, where both drinks & service were wonderful.

Ya they said that stick martin was playing here to night and they cancelled them last minute for some dis jackey what the F is that all about I would not set foot in this place if they were the last place on earth this sucks I bet the stick group is P Off as they are a very popular band and could have probably played somewhere reputable
Bad business not nice why dont the have minus stars that is what they deserveone is too good

Great music… The service is ok! I wouldn’t say is the best bar of tampa, but it is nice to go there once in a while or for special events…

Cool spot. Enjoyed our night out there

It is one of the nicer bars I have seen in a while. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the glowing, color changing, 50 foot long «ice» bar. It’s quite a site to see. All the bartenders are skilled and at this martini bar, they have atleast 4 bartenders behind the bar so that getting a cocktail doesn’t take you 30 minutes. They also have floating bartenders serving the booths and tables.
Good music and its not overwhelming at all.
The huge outside patio is not yet finished but once it is, it will be very nice.
They have every liquor imaginable, including some that I have never seen at other bars.
Everything is moderately priced and the happy hour special is great from 4−7pm. Thursday nights they have now started a reverse happy hour to accommodate the late night crowds.
I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t already.
