Let me tell you something. We’ve been to a lot of places in the area. Specifically we’ve been to a lot of Mexican places. This one might be the best. The ceviche was solid. Nice and cool plus some great hot sauces to go with it. The tacos though? Bruh… unreal. Super simple flavored, but you can taste each one of them. My favorite was the chorizo taco. Just perfect. Wife had the burrito and devoured it. Fantastic place. Definitely worth going out of the way for.

Food truck located next to the palladium. Run by nice and friendly owners. Service was great. He helped suggest what to order. I got the 4 tacos. 2 chicken, 1 steak, and 1 chorizo. With a fresh lemonade. Since it was a nice day Out I stayed there to eat. They were so nice they even brought out my food to me. After demolishing all 4 tacos all I can say is Better than taco bus. Definitely coming back to try everything on the menu. The end

Seek this place out!!! DELICIOUS. Service was great, food was amazing. Kids gobbled it down and begged to go again. Husband put it down as a top favorite! We all got different items and each was outstanding. Their mastery of flavor is impressive. Only downside we could come up with — they aren’t in the town where we live! We are honestly driving there as I type to get one more«fix» before flying back home!

This place is unbelievable. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Tried the tacos, burrito, and ceviche. The prices are unbeatable. The only downside is there’s limited seating. Come here, you won’t regret it!

I went to Los Comparres to further my taco research. After much deliberation, I would have to say this is a solid 3 star taco stand. Maybe other items in the menu are better but the tacos are average in my opinion. I tried the asada, chicken and al pastor but none stood out to me. I think Tampa has gone so taco crazy that they feel anything slapped in a tortilla is five star worthy. I don’t think this place measures up to a few other places in the Tampa area. Maybe there are consistency issues? Or maybe other items are the stars of the show here. But I like the simplicity of tacos so I’ll spend my pesos elsewhere.

This place blows doors on Tacobus, & all the other Mexican places I’ve been to here in Tampabay. Even better then places in Dover & Plant City. We are Mexican transplants from Monterey, Ca & has been hard to locate real Mexican not whitixican food

Had a salad and small ceviche for only $ 13 — the salad came with a meat, avocado, onions, cilantro and lime, tomatoes, and avocado. Great deal, great food!

So I had to update this after my second trip, because the owner read the review, addressed my initial issue, and it is no longer a thing. Because of this and everything I say below, I am a HUGE fan of this place! After seeing a tip from one of my fellow Unilocalers and then the pictures on their page, the fam and I made our way down here this past Sunday. We found it ok(just after the Palladium, just before Hillsborough Ave) and pulled in their smallish lot to park. After a brief glance at the menu we decided on lots of tacos(3 orders). We ordered the asada, pastor, tongue, campechano(chorizo, asada, & chicken mix), fish, & barbacoa. The tacos are 4 for $ 8 and stuffed full of meat, cilantro, and onion. The fish was done differently in that it wasn’t fried and topped with cabbage and cream, but cooked and mixed with onion, cilantro, and avocado. Not bad, but just different from what I expect with fish tacos. The campechano, pastor, and barbacoa were my favorites and will have me coming back here. The asada was good too. My wife had the tongue, shrimp, and the tripe and loved all three. We also had the medium sized shrimp quesadilla and a medium shrimp cocktail. The quesadilla was really good and BIG. The shrimp cocktail however is the star of this place. I don’t think I’ve seen or had this since leaving CA, and I haven’t had it this good in a while. There may be a weekly visit for this alone, as my wife loved it as well. Our total for everything was just over $ 40. There are tables set up if you choose to eat here vice carrying out. Whatever you do, come here, because their food is really good and they give you plenty of it!

A friend of mine recommended this place. Omg it is so good. Very authentic, real mexican food. The boys had chicken tostados and myself steak. We also had a civiche to share… I love horchata and this is on point. rice milk with cinnamon. The three guys working were very genuine. We will Def be back.

HIDDENGEM! So happy we discovered this spot! It’s easy to pass, but it’s in a big parking lot really close to a gas station. The guys that work here are super nice. The food is amazing and so fresh. They have a little area for you to sit and eat there as well. We had the shrimp and octopus ceviche, it was delicious. I had the shrimp quesadilla, which was the same size as me, I could only eat 1 out of 4 pieces. My boyfriend had a variety of tacos and a tostada which were all a generous portion. We will 100% be back by next time we’re around!

Went their cause we saw all the Unilocal reviews, and they were all positive. So had to see what it was all about. It at the corner of Armenia and hillsborough. Pretty divey, literally a food truck with 2 sit down tables, and some additional bar chairs along the tent to sit at. Pretty basic menu ceviche, tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, and mayb burritos can’t quite remember. So this place is not fancy or closed in, it’s a truck with a tent on a gravel parking lot, so if this freaks you out don’t even head this way, it will of course suck for you because this place is awesome. We had the ceviche, which was unbelievable I think it was 8 for a medium which was a very generous portion. By the way everything here is pretty big when it comes to portion size! We ordered way to much food and ended up taking most of it home. My girl had the shrimp quesadilla large for 9, which were also huge. We could have shared those and been full lol. I had a tostado which was huge, then I also ordered 4 tacos. My only complaint way the bistec really didn’t care for it had a funny taste and was over cooked, only reason I’m not giving it 4 stars! The biggest thing that sticks out to me besides the food portion is the service. Not to really be expected at a food truck, right. Not so here their was 2 guys and they were both awesome. Really worked hard at trying to make sure everything was great and very sincere and genuine at what they were doing, quite refreshing. Sorry I didn’t catch their names. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who isn’t snobby and I’m sure this will be one of my reg places to come to!

I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I feel like I could eat at this place every day. The employees are all very nice and helpful with the menu, which is in spanish, although one of the employees ensured me they are expecting menus in English from their printers soon. My wife and I tried the pork and the chicken tacos on corn tortillas(they also have flour) as well as the chorizo quesadilla. Each order of tacos comes with 4. The corn tortillas are amazing, so fresh and tasty, as were the herbs and veggies. They use a perfect amount of meat: not so much that the taco overflows when you try to fold it up, but enough that 4 tacos fills you up nicely. The quesadilla was our favorite, the chorizo is so flavorful. I think next time we’ll both get a quesadilla and maybe split an order of tacos. Prices are quite reasonable as well, quesadilla are only $ 4 and an order of 4 tacos is $ 8. I really look forward to returning so we can try some of the other menu items.

Coming from LA, i haven’t had myself some good Mexican food in a while, but so far this is the closest thing thats come to it. Got myself some tacos, horchata and come campechana. The campechana was served in a glass and tasted supper great. It came with some crackers and had a semi/sweet red sauce, will come back for more. The tacos were pretty good as well. I felt that some sauce was necessary for some of the meat because the taste just wasn’t there. But other than the food the service was A+++. I don’t speak much Spanish but thankfully the guy who worked there did and he was supper helpful in explaining what was in all his food. He didn’t mind answering our question and it looked like he took pride in his cooking. After ordering we just sat down and the food was brought to us. It was pretty cool. You might want to note that there is only outdoor seating here, so watch the weather. All in all i had a great experience here and will come back for more. I just love it when the strive is on par.

Leaving the hospital after 9PM last night, I was ready for food! I pulled out my Unilocal ap to get ideas & as the angels sang, I saw a Taco truck open till 3AM. Yup, you guessed it, we were headed to Mexicoville, for sustenance. I drove right by Los Compadres, but pulled into Thorntons. The truck is located ½ block south of Hillsborough Ave., on Armenia. It is set way back off the road. Andress is top man in this eatery & he knows his food. I got a specialty taco, it may have been called the Hillsborough, that was knock your socks off good & a steak taco = $ 4.00! Yup my kind of place. Food I’d fantastic, I appreciated the extra onions & spicy green sause. The chef/owner was super nice & the price was perfect. By the time I got home I inhaled both tacos with zest & delight. The hours are great with them being open late. Just remember they are closed on Mondays, so no bueno, no food. What’s a girl to do? Eat a great taco wherever you can find it.

While Taco Bus used to be where one could get an authentic delicious taco, that is no longer the case. So if you’re looking for an amazing, flavorful, authentic taco, go here. That’s that. I may have only got the fish tacos(dietary pescatarian), but they were awesome. My boyfriend got the pork, obviously, and said it was also awesome.
