Some reviews just write themselves. We asked the host for a booth. A few looked available, but needed to be cleared. The host shrugged and said they were short, tried to laugh it off and offered us a table, but the place was not busy, she was chatting with a coworker just before seating us. I don’t know how many workers are usually in her dream team, but maybe she doesn’t count herself or any of her functioning appendages. The waitress was fine, but mussels we ordered were not acceptable. Don’t serve mussels with broken shells or bored holes. You don’t have to taste them to known they’ve gone bad. Just look with your eyes. It’s a god given gift.

I had never been to a Carraba’s and had always wanted to try it. Located in the main terminal at the Tampa Airport, the opportunity finally presented itself before my flight back home today. I was seated right away, and I loved how my waitress, Carly, who is also one of the bartrnders, asked me if I was in a hurry. I told her not at all, and in fact had never been there before, so I’d need some time to look at the menu. She told me what was popular and was very knowledgeable about the whole menu. It turns out that she was actually waiting tables and working the bar at the same time, yet she was prompt and I never felt neglected. She refilled my water before I had to ask and was right on top of any request. And the other bartender, whose name I didn’t get, jumped in and helped out towards the end when Carly got busy at the bar. Excellent service and great teamwork! I ordered the sausage and lentil soup, which was delicious! Seriously some of the best soup I ever had. It had a nice kick to it, but wasn’t too spicy… just very flavorful! My entrée was a newer dish; panko crusted chicken topped with arugula salad and a side of my choice. I chose the spinach, which was sauteed in olive oil and garlic. The meal was huge, and very tasty! I couldn’t finish it, but had to try their gelato!(They have a carry out window, too, for passers by. Very smart!) They have a variety of flavors, and I got the mocha and Italian almond cookie. Together they were delicious. Yum yum! Everything about this lunch visit was pleasant, and I hope ours in Chicago is as nice!

Just had a preflight lunch at Carrabas at Tampa airport. Totally exceeded our expectations! Server HEATHER was fabulous. So pleasant and her suggestions were spot on. Minestrone soup had tons of chunky veggies. Michael had caprese salad that was beautiful. I had a panko crusted chicken which was yummy. Best of all was the blackberry sangria. Not sure when we will pass this way again but would definitely return!

Gluten Free Menu Walked in after a 3 hour layover in Tampa got seated right away, this is in the main terminal for Tampa and it has all the shops, luxury couches, and Starbux. Sat in a booth the waiter was super quick, super friendly and totally took care of me being gluten free. Had the Shrimp Scampi App to start with bread on the side which is so darn good and yummy with lots of butter. The Ministrone also gluten free was so brothful tasting with excellent fixins. Maincourse got the chicken + swiss + mushrooms + mash potato sides which was excellent, I believe it was called Rosa Maria something but was tasty, light, and perfectly cooked. If your hungry for a quick grub sesh check out Carabba’s good quality food and excellent service.

After many years since I patronized Carrabba’s last time, we decided to give a try. I had good memories and kind a like their menu in the past. This menu was different, maybe the reason is airport location. The service was good, but quality of food wasn’t. The size of salads served on the same table were noticeable different. One was loaded with extra onion. Pizza, it appears was warm up before serving. Toppings were scattered. I expected better experience.

Let it be known: This is a franchise location so gift cards/coupons are not accepted, food/drink prices are hiked way high, and the menu is quite different. With that in mind, knowing we had a flight to catch and still wanting a «last meal» with the family in town, we opted for this location. Its nice because you don’t have to get past security to eat here; its prior to the gates. Other than way-overpriced drinks and meals, the food itself is tasty as usual. I ordered the new Cavatappi Franco which is basically penne pasta with wood-grilled chicken, olives, mushroom, broccoli, and tomatoes tossed in garlic olive oil. Absolutely delish and definitely recommend.

I’ve been in here frequently as I travel to this airport a lot. It’s consistently good. The servers are consistently nice. It’s spotless for an airport restaurant. Devon has been my server more than once and always puts a smile on my face. Good job Carrabba’s. You made my stressful week way better!

Service — attentive. Cocktail — I had double Tanqueray and tonic instead of my preferred Campari and soda, this is an Italian restaurant after all, but they don’t have it. Good bread with olive oil herbs and reggiano parmigiana on request. Selected the Salmon with Tomato Basil vinegrette that included soup and mashed potatoes. It came out too well cooked and not to my liking. No problem. It was taken back to the chef and replaced with an appropriately seared fish. The tomato basil vinegrette is delicious. Decent 6 oz glass of house White wine. Finishing off with espresso that came with biscotti. Now let’s look at the bill…49.51 Cannot complain about that.

Portions are pretty big. Bread is nice and hot. Waitress could have been more attentive. I prob saw her twice throughout the whole meal. Lettuce in the salad seemed old.

We arrived at the airport in Tampa around 11 a.m. in the morning and were starving. I looked around and saw very few restaurants that I thought would offer vegan options. Then I saw the chain restaurant Carrabba’s Italian Grill and wondered if they might offer a nice pasta dish. It appeared that there were only a couple options, but as hungry as I was, a couple simple pasta options was all I was looking for. We were seated immediately at a big booth inside the dark airport restaurant. The tables and chairs were of a dark wood and the accents were in red. On each table was a bottle of San Pellegrino so I guess that influenced me to order a San Pellegrino. How is it that that water is so good? At Carrabba’s, the fresh pasta are made with eggs so you just need to inquire as to which pasta dishes can be made vegan with the dry pastas(penne, whole wheat spaghetti, etc.). The bread that they serve is vegan as is the herbed olive oil mixture. We enjoyed hot bread as we waited for our entrees. First came the Italian salad that comes with the meal. As it seemed that none of the dressings were vegan, I just requested olive oil and vinegar. I was unimpressed with the presentation of the salad. It was just some greens topped with carrots, onions, tomatoes, and two olives. It really wasn’t anything special. But, my entrée, to my delight, was much better than expected! I ordered the Tag Pic Pac and replaced the tagliarini pasta with the whole wheat spaghetti. This was a huge bowl of spaghetti with fresh tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and basil. It was simple, yet delicious. In most airports, there are few vegan options at sit-down restaurants so I was very pleased to discover Carrabba’s. The pasta, though overpriced at $ 13, was very fresh and very good. The service left a lot to be desired, but overall, I’d say it was fine. I think this is a great option in the Tampa airport.

The only reason I know this place is because of my fiancée’(it’s her favorite go-to Italian place) It’s quite nice that they have one located in the southwest airlines terminal. The dishes reminds me of a place called Macaroni grill. I have had the spaghetti with meat balls which was nothing spectacular. The ravioli which was kinda bland. I did like the their hearty minestrone soup and their bread. Nice place to get a quick bite and they have TV’s and a nice bar to kill time before your flight.

Best choice in the main terminal at the airport — well better than Fridays. I had a nice soup & salad for lunch before I could check in to the hotel. Food was good, as was the service.

First and foremost… this place is better than Olive Garden. In fact, Olive Garden is gross and food is not homemade. Especially their soups!!! Back to Carrabba’s at Tampa Int’l. Sam and Carli, thank you for treating my sister and I like family. I have never seen two people work so well together… you compliment each other. Food was great. Try their signature dishes. They leave you satisfied and leftovers. Coffee drink was a perfect touch to warm us up for our trip back to Boston. I will always fly to Tampa… and I will always come back to see our favorite bartenders Sam and Carli. Thank you ladies… you rock!

I have a rule that when I travel, I don’t eat at restaurants that I can visit at home. Not only can I find the chain version of Carrabba’s at home, I can find 2 locations still owned and operated by the family. Rule broken. After all, when you’re at the airport, you’re frequently faced with choosing the best least desirable option. But in this case, it’s a pretty delicious option. Especially when the other choice is Friday’s… but I digress. I had three hours to kill, they had a full bar, and I needed to eat. Problem solved. Bonus star for having a local beer on tap from Cigar City brewing. See, I got something I couldn’t get at home. Two bartenders were working the expansive bar; both were friendly and efficient and both knew their stuff. The food was good — everything came out as I expected it and tasted good. If they have the sausage & lentil soup, order it. It’s delish. Plus they were able to cross over and serve each other’s customers when needed without screwing things up. End result: I walked away well fed and relaxed enough to face the TSA for my Freedom Fondle to go back home. If you have time to kill in TPA, this is a good place to stop.

Not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but this was one of two choices since we were sending a friend back to Aruba and unfortunately, didn’t have boarding passes to go with him! Our server Molly was spot on. She was attentive and a pleasure to deal with. I started with the Minestrone soup which was very good and hearty. My entrée was the Grilled Mahi Mahi in a lemon butter sauce with capers and a mixed vegetable medley, which was tasty, as well. The portions were huge so I was also able to have it for dinner and lunch the next day. Carraba’s is not too bad for airport dining and drinking too with a great bar and great beers on tap.

For somebody who rants about chain restaurants, I sure do seem to find myself in them often enough. Hey, stranded in an airport, what else could I do? It was that or TGIF. The food is typical chain Italian, certainly better than Olive Garden but not remotely as good as my favorite spots. I was just happy to get something palatable, frankly. Service was subpar but only because our waitress was severely overtasked; she was working very hard and was very friendly despite having an unconscionable number of tables. This is a common theme at airport restaurants, so we(mostly) rolled with it since the food was fine. Grading on a curve for the airport, I’d say this isn’t half bad if you have some time to kill and aren’t in a big rush.

Located inside the main terminal of Tampa International Airport is a branch of my favorite Italian casual restaurant, Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Carrabba’s is located on the main concourse, up a level from the ticket counters, and before you ride the trams out to the various terminals. Since it sits inside the main airport, and before you pass through TSA security, it’s a great place to meet with friends or to sit at the bar if you’re a solo traveler looking for a delicious meal. I’ve eaten here many times on my trips through the airport, and always enjoy the chance to relax with a salad and a bowl of pasta before hopping on a plane. The bartenders and servers have always been friendly, and they are quick to bring out the food and deliver the check so that you can get on your way. The restaurant has a large central bar area which is ringed by booths and tables. There’s also a back dining area overlooking the open kitchen. TVs are tuned to various sports and news channels. On this trip I had a Mediterranean side salad which was artichoke hearts, green beans, pepperoncinis, olives, red onion, fennel and tomatoes in a light pesto vinaigrette. For my main course I had one of my favorites — Pasta Carrabba which was fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms and spring peas. Very filling and very delicious! The menu has soups, salads, and appetizers along with pasta dishes, and wood-fired steaks, chicken, and seafood. Plenty of vegetarian options along with classic Italian favorites. They have a full bar along with an excellent wine list, so it’s a great place to relax before your flight. I’m a big fan of the food at Carrabba’s, and I try to visit this location at the airport when my schedule permits.
