Every thing is fresh. Service friendly. Had fried sea food done perfectly. Moist and tender. A great place with great prices

Good local seafood only about two blocks from the capital. I ordered the fried shrimp basket with fries. The shrimp was good, and the fries were average. The employee was friendly, and the atmosphere was nicely themed. Definitely would recommend who wants seafood in a location near downtown.

We always enjoy coming here because they have additional items not available at the other Wharf Express locations. Comfortable seating in a casual atmosphere. Although you order at the counter when you come in, we have always had good service after the sale. Get on their email list and you get special offers. You can get your seafood fried, grilled or blackened. I enjoy their fried mullet and they do a good job with their other seafood. Prices are reasonable considering how expensive seafood is these days.

Being close to DMV and FWC along with other state offices further along, it’s natural to share lunch dining space with so many of our dedicated lanyard-sporting state employees. Today, it would appear as though I’m the token private-sector rep. This is counter-service in which payment is up-front. The menu is vast — and leave it to me to hone in on what would prove to be a less-than-satisfying option.(Some of you may certainly enjoy the hell out of it — but I was disappointed). I ordered the Buffalo Oyster bowl. It just sounded so good! Presentation was good. As expected, the bowl arrived swiftly with a large plastic-gloved handful of breaded/buffaloed oysters atop creamy cheese grits. When eating oysters, one should be able to tell oysters are being eaten — but here, I couldn’t taste oyster ATALL. If it weren’t for the clearly oysteresque consistency of the breaded material, it could have been popcorn chicken nuggets. The breading was completely appropriate on hooters breaded wings — but wholly masked the essence of oyster. It annoyed me that it could have been anything in there. The cheddar cheese grits were very good. The accompanying 3″ celery stalks where crisp. The blue cheese dressing for which to dunk them was remarkably salty — but I commonly gripe about salt so it could be me. Remember, 3-stars means«A-OK» so this is a positive review. I will return to order an alternative dish — and order it blackened to boot. Interior is immaculate. Not one smudge on the many windows. Counter and runner service were courteous and swift.

I have always enjoyed the Wharf’s seafood, but was disappointed when I dined there recently. It was 7:30 on a Wednesday night and we were the only diners. Our food came out quickly and was hot. The seafood and hushpuppies were over fried. The cheese grits were under cooked. I’ll give the Wharf another chance, but if our next meal disappoints we won’t be back.

It was my first time here. I had the blackened catfish which was a little salty, but still fresh and I enjoyed it. The iced tea with half sweetened half unsweetened was great. All for a decent price.

Tried this locale again and will again. The cheese grits are amazing and the homemade tarter sauce was good. Sweet tea was southern sweet so half and half worked. I ordered the mahi-mahi basket and hubby had fried shrimp. All was excellent. You order at the counter and they bring it to you, keeping your drinks full constantly! I even liked their fried apple pie.

We have eaten at two other Wharf Express restaurants, so we hit this one last weekend for a taste. I had the broiled shrimp with coleslaw and hush puppies, my guy had mahi-mahi with fries and slaw. He had his fish blackened after I gave him grief for ordering fried in front of me when I couldn’t have it(diet and all). The food came out quickly, and it was delish. Shrimp tasted like they had been swimming not an hour earlier and they were cooked just right. The coleslaw was creamy but not too oily. The hushpuppies at this location did not seem to have as much onion or parsley in them. but they were sure tasty. The restaurant was clean and cozy, though small, but we liked it. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our late lunch. We’ll be back!
