Just got a take-out pizza and it was massively disappointing. The crust was burnt and extremely chewy. I’ve gotten pizza here before and been pleased, but this was disappointing. Just take the extra couple of minutes to drive to Midtown– the quality is more consistent.

If I wanted slow and terrible service, I would have gone to Momo’s. As it stands, they’re pizza isn’t good enough to wait for an hour for it on a slow Tuesday night. We walked out on our order… Off to Momo’s we go!(Unfortunately)

Great pizza!!! Relaxing & fun atmosphere. Outside seating available. Full bar. Alexis took great care of us. We love the ‘Smitty’ Best pizza in tally. Can serve large or small parties. Something for everyone. Kids welcome. It was our first stop in town. Highly recommended for pizza lovers.

Northside Pies has our favorite pizza in town, and The Whistle Stop(the one with fried green tomatoes) is a geniously delicious pizza. However, I am wondering if something is amiss at Northside Pies since tonight my Whistle Stop came with yellow onions instead of my beloved red onions and the addition of a weird mayonnaisey sauce(additional to the ranch sauce).(I have a picture of the weird yellow sauce with the ranch sauce… tasted fatty/oily instead of salty and decadent) We won’t write Northside Pies off just yet, but another miss like tonight’s means we take our business across the street. UPDATE: I went back, in person instead of the usual take-out. The complimentary pizza did not disappoint, and… I also tried a salad and a glass of wine there and took a friend. We both enjoyed the pizza(Whistle Stop!!) and were surprised by how fresh and delicious the salad was at a pizza place. THANKYOU! Review has been updated to 5 stars… and we are just going to assume that one time I wrote a negative review was reflective of a one-off time. Thank goodness and thank you again! :)

Ordered our pizza and appetizer. Appetizer came and was great, then our waitress comes out to say that something happened to our pizza and they had to remake it. No biggie, but we were headed to meeting, so they made it to go. BUT then charged us full price for everything, but offered a 2nd appetizer. We had already had one appetizer, we didn’t want a 2nd. As we waited for our«to go» pizza, an elderly couple broke a glass at a nearby table. The waitress just stands and watches as the elderly lady picks all the pieces up off floor. I was dumbfounded. I sang high praises of this place my first visit, but the last 2 times I have been disappointed. Never had an experience where you paid full price and had to take food to go because it took to long.

We had the Freaks and Greeks and some Mango Wit beer from Proof Brewing. The pizza recipe was excellent. I will have to come back to try more of the punny flavors. The service was very refreshing as well.

First trip to Northside Pies and it was very good. Service was also very good. We have been looking for a good pizza since we moved here 3 years ago and I think we found it. We ordered the Smitty. The pepperoni was tasty as was the rest if the pizza. The crust was thin and had a good flavor. I didn’t leave with the bloated pizza feeling. I only wish there were more fresh mushrooms on it. We tried the fried jalapeño appetizer and was disappointed. They had no heat and very little flavor. If it wasn’t for that, I’d give it a 5 star. Definitely will be going back.

First time here. Really liked it! Great pizza. Much better than Momo’s across the street. I really don’t get it. Momo’s is always slammed, but their pizza pales in comparison. Great selection of salads and specialty pizzas. Great crust. Nice outside seating area. Will definitely be back!

First time visit and we really enjoyed! He place was dead and that are d to be a red flag when we arrived but I was impressed with the service and food! Where is everyone ? Hubby and I split the southern greek salad and the Bruno Sanntorino pizza. Both were very well done and flavorful. The Greek salad was transformed into a southern dish with the addition of potato salad atop the greens. The pizza was a positive overload of Italian meats topped with pepperocini peppers. Everything was delicious. The place has an abundance of seating inside and out and plenty of TV s for catching the game. Local brews on tap and a variety of wines. We will be back!

Don’t waste your time or money. go get a tostinos just as good. Service is horrible, pizza was not even cooked, crust was doughie, pizza was very greasy, that is a sign of cheap cheeses and toppings. When server walked up no Hi welcome, etc, etc. It was what do you want to eat, period. There were only three tables with customers yet we waited 10 minutes for our server to even show up. But don’t worry it will not be open long as you can’t survive on a lunch crowd of only three tables and with horrible service.

Pizza is good. Prices a little high, especially for salad. If you want a good beer selection go somewhere else.

The Gaines St/Midtown/Northside pies group has the best pizza in town, hands down. I am consistently amazed to see people waiting for tables across the street at Momo’s on a Friday night, while there are still open tables at Northside Pies! The crust is thin and crispy, there is a perfect balance of cheese/toppings, there are many creative and tasty combinations on the specialty pies menu. We particularly like the White Sword and the Maggie Mae. The only negative I can come up with is the draft beer menu, which I wish was bigger and more varied, and to me is the one place where Northside Pies(and Midtown Pies too, honestly) falls behind its competitors. Overall though, Northside Pies is fantastic, and I’m super happy that they expanded up on this end of town! ETA: new taps? Bring on some saisons! If you had Boulevard Tank 7 on draft, I might have to move in.

First time, got an 18″ veggie specialty pizza, take out. Pros: Pizza was ready on time, efficient and friendly cashier, perfectly cooked. Good sauce, the garlic and roasted red peppers gave the pizza a great flavor, thin crust, great pizza! Cons: The box was 18″, but the pizza wasn’t. I will go back, but I would like a full 18″ pizza for $ 27. I look forward to trying some of their specialty pizzas and the fried Snickers.

With Gaines St. and Midtown Pies notched in our TLH pizza baton, we had to complete the Trifecta and venture northward(past I-10) into the zone where Tallahassee’s urban and suburban meet. Curb Appeal: The branding continues to develop. Just as the new Gaines Street Pies is displaying visually magnetic and appealing signage, so to is Midtown — and naturally HERE — Northside. The logoed shirts on the wait staff and kitchen noticeably makes a difference. This is arguably the«high-end» pizzeria of the three, given the location. Service: notably different from the other two is table service. Nice! Our server this evening(don’t recall his name, but the Abe Lincoln beard) was very nice and prompt on the service. drinks were refilled and orders were delivered promptly. We ordered a calzone, two personalized 10″, a 14″ ½ mushroom, and two apps(bruschetta AND jalapeño popper thingies). Everything was presented nicely and served hot. Good flavor across the board. The pizza is good. I chose, in retrospect, one topping too many(cappicola, jalapeño, spinach, mushroom) but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Atmosphere is dim at night — two sports channels were on. Packed house. TLH is certainly upping its Pizza game. This Northside Pies is carrying on the quality standards of the other two — and that makes for good eats. The key here — as with the other two — is to take a leap of faith and order one of the combinations that are outlined on the menu. The wife always orders the«Foxy Cleopatra»(from the Gaines menu) — but that’s just because it was our first of the three. I just hope Midtown and Northside don’t get sick of me continuously referencing the original! It IS an adjustment to walk out of a pizza joint for a bill that’s closer to $ 100 than to $ 80 — but we were 5, and we had a good time while there.

While the taste is good, the service is severely lacking. Three strikes and you’re out and in our case this restaurant has had four strikes. Appetizers are yummy, but the wait from ordering to table of more than 30 minutes when the restaurant is not at capacity is not good. Pizzas are tasty, but overpriced and really not worth the frustration.

Decided to check out northside pies today for lunch and was impressed! I was worried when my husband suggested it because pizza isnt always the fastest place get food. That wasnt an issue here at all and the speed didnt affect the quality. The best part is their lunch specials. $ 7 for two large slices and a drink? That’s a pretty good deal! And, if you’re trying to stay on the healthier side, they have a decent selection of salads– pretty rare at pizza restaurants!

This is my new go-to pizza place on the north side of Tallahassee. Eclectic offerings in 10, 14 or 18 inch sizes. Lots of unique offerings, my favorite so far is the Chicken and Waffles Pizza — delectable — sweet and savory and delicious. Reminds me of eating at Roscoe’s in L.A. Also have tried the Figure 4 which offers mozzarella, crumbled goat cheese, roasted fig and capicola and plenty of garlic. Decent beer selection — five or six crafts on tap — always have my local favorite — Proof. Have about 20 or so bottles/cans — mostly craft — a few macros. Excellent service, very personable and attentive. Highly recommended.
