We hired Hawley Construction to extend a deck and repair some stairs. The workers arrived every day on time and cleaned up daily. The workmanship was excellent and finished ahead of schedule. The bid was fair and money was returned as some of the construction was not as extensive as originally bid. There were two minor items on the punch list and they were taken care of immediately. Highly recommend !!

Hawley Construction is doing an extensive remodel to our house. They are an excellent crew, taking great care with their work. We could not be happier and would highly recommend them. The owner communicates often and is always available by phone. We check on the house weekly always unannounced and the crew is always there and hard at work. Everyone is very friendly and we appreciate their expertise. Again, would highly recommend them!

Our huge renovation project is now complete. The owner, Dana, and the entire team at Hawley Construction are incredible. Our vacation home in Tahoe had the entire interior renovated and a huge redwood deck built. Every detail was looked at and the quality of the work is absolutely top notch. We could not be happier. We reviewed quite a few companies before landing on the one who would work with us on our renovation and landscape project. Our home is not the easiest as the access is challenging and the size can be too much for many smaller contractors. Hawley and crews were very professional, punctual and it seemed at every turn they were going beyond what we could have expected in workmanship. In other words we feel for the work and price we came out way ahead. It is hard to choose a contractor even based on what other people may say. I can assure you that Dana and his company will not only be a pleasure with which to work but you will realize you have found a key asset in keeping your home beautifully up to date, inside and out, in Dana’s care. I received an official looking notice from what appeared to be the local fire district in Tahoe, citing an ordinance requiring removal of tree limbs near buildings. I called the number on the bottom of the notice, which indicated Hawley Construction was qualified to do the tree maintenance. I had recieved similar notices from PG&E to trim trees on another property with a recommended firm (Davey Tree, who is a PG&E contractor), so nothing seemed out of the ordinary with the notice. I dutifully contacted the number and scheduled the work. When I arrived to inspect the work after it was completed, I was agahst to see the trees shorn of all of their limbs. Upon investigation, I learned the official notice was not from the Tahoe fire district, but cleverly disguised marketing material from Hawley intended to seduce the unwary into hiring them for tree triming work, that was not required by any official agency. The work itself was pathetic. No artful removal of limbs against building, but instead, shearing of entire trees. The arborist I hired to assess the damage said every short cut immaginable was taken by Hawley’s crew and the trees should now be fully removed. I was billed over $ 1,000 by Hawley for unnecessary work. I have spent over $ 7,000 planting new trees to hide the damage they have done to my home and formerly wooded lot. Save yourself time and aggravationa and do not do business with Dana Hawley. This is an unscrupulous contractor.
