Wow what a coffee. Cool little place across from UW Tacoma. Looks like they have open mic type music nights? ***Coffee snob review*** Coffee was dynamite. Anthem is among the top tier roasters/coffee joints in Tacoma along with the likes of Bluebeard, Valhalla, and Brosseau. My latte was incredibly roasty. Deep rich chocolate notes compliments the in your face roasted espresso flavor. 5 stars for espresso hands down. Food was decent. I got a caprese flat bread. The ingredients were decent, but the cheese was a little plasticy. Not sure how else to describe it. Over all well worth a visit, especially for the espresso alone.

Stopped in for lunch after visiting the Washington State History Museum. I had a Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar sandwich with a side of Chipotle sauce. It was pretty tasty. Service was quick and professional. Would definitely return.

I love Anthem. I go to school right across the street, so I’m there more often than I should be. I don’t order espresso-based drinks much anymore, but when I did, I their dirty chai lattes were my jam and my mom is a fan of them as well. My usual order is a slightly customized London Fog(they were all very patient w me trying to figure out the most efficient way to spit it out) and they make my day(I’m convinced it’s the added lavender in the earl grey). Since it’s been getting warmer, I’ve ordered it iced(which I thought would’ve been weird, but they were like, «no problem!») and now the real conflict is which way I want it. I once ordered a tiny hot chocolate with a smidgen of white chocolate and it was the best thing in the world(I never have hardcore chocolate cravings when I’m near and it sucks). My cousin is a fan of their pumpkin spice lattes when in-season. He claims they’re done right. I love the space and it’s numerous windows and wooden fixtures. They play music pretty much to my taste and I think it’s generally easy-listening. It can get quite crowded, so, warning(most people wouldn’t mind sharing a table if you asked though, let’s be honest). Depending on the coffee shops you frequent they might be kind of slow, but you usually won’t get milk that nice and an awesome Instagram post of latte art with drive-thru/Starbuck’s speed. Some spots are wheelchair accessible, but during crowded hours I think it’s a lot more challenging to find a spot and that is my biggest issue.

This has always been my favorite spot to go to when I find myself in need of peace. I recently took a day off to be by myself and gather my thoughts, and this was the first place I thought of. I ordered a London Fog, which they made with a generous amount of foam, and it carried the most perfect aroma of tea. I haven’t really experimented with their bakery items, but I once managed to finagle some monkey bread and it was delightfully textured, with the right balance of crunch and sweetness. The baristas are appropriately friendly and definitely make sure that you get your drink. The ambiance is calm… except when a horde of teenagers? Or college freshmen perhaps came barging in and were excessively loud for what seemed like ages but the baristas can hardly help that. The one thing I’m not fond of is the high table. I love sitting there but it’s wobbly as all get out and LOUD when it does haha Overall, a lovely shop, perfect for contemplating life, rain, and being alone. Or even sitting in peace with a dear friend.

Anthem is in a pretty cool location nestled in between several museums, light rail and a university. This place can get pretty booming! When there are a lot of people in here there isn’t much room to sit at a table and relax so sometimes you just got to move along. Slow times when they happen are great to take advantage of because you can get a good opportunity to people watch as people go by… if you are into that kind of thing. Pasties, Coffee, Tea and Cocoa are very good here and it is well worth a stop in whatever you are off doing or if you are doing nothing.

Love, love, love anthem coffee!!! they are professional and nice. No drama and the coffee is simply delicious!! The leather key chains are durable and the key ring itself is the strongest ring. If you live in the neighborhood u will receive a discount on your coffee!!!

Go there on Sunday, park your car(free and easy), and get inspired by the art museums around it! I just had tea there, so I don’t know how the coffee tastes. My husband liked the coffee though. They have lots of seating and it’s not too loud or too quiet.

What a cool little coffee shop… This shop is conveniently located next to the glass museum and Union Station. Do you appreciate the Northwest and appreciate a good piece of wood and cup of coffee? Then park down at the Freight House Square Free Parking Garage and ride the free link light rail to Union Station and check this place out!

5 stars for ambience and a satisfying espresso. This cute European style café is adjacent to the museum of glass and the university. It has a young yet also old school environment. Coffee selection is legitimate and they have all sorts of alternative milks(almond, hemp, soy.). They also serve wine and beer(haven’t tried these yet tho but their bar looked like a pretty cool spot to have a glass of something with a good book!). They also serve Corinne Bakery goods(gluten free options!) which is an amazing bakery spot in Tacoma(if not the best). Great place to grab coffee before taking a walk down to the pier(walkable from the café)!

My girlfriend and I stopped by for coffee and had the most fun. The batista was quite creative with decorating the coffee like an art project. It was such beautiful art that I almost forgot it was a delicious cup of coffee. Great place!

My favorite! Cool atmosphere and staff, good coffee and food too. I go to UWT and I come here in-between classes to do my homework. Sometimes I sit here for hours and don’t even realize it. Avoid Starbucks across the street and come here.

The coffee here is nothing to write home about, but it’s still a decent cup. We were at the glass museum next door, so Anthem was definitely convenient. Seemed like a spot frequented by teenagers, if that’s your thing. I’ll consider going back if I’m in the area. Don’t think I’d make a special trip though.

Very cool ambiance and the caramel latte is way better than Starbucks by far just the right amount of ingredients.

This place is adorable. Location is prime. Right next to UWT, museums and freeways. I can’t give full 5 stars because I didn’t stay long and because they didn’t have white coffee and the barista never tried white coffee. I think places like this should stay on the upcoming trends. Especially in Washington/Seattle area. They had hemp milk tho! So that’s cool. Also they have live music every third Thursday. Which is random but I will have to try to make it out one of these Thursday’s!

Wonderful little artisan coffee shop. These guys know their coffee and they do it well. The partner with a local roaster to make some special blends. They have a brown sugar latte that is fantastic, while sweet it is by no means overpowering and has subtle caramel notes. They have a quite relaxed ambiance making it the perfect spot to take a morning break or grab a coffee on the go. They have beer but since it is 9 am and I have an interview at noon, I didn’t even ask for one. But judging by the taps they have a nice mix of craft brews. As far as food goes I had the ham chibatta. It came with a chipotle mayo dipping sauce which is right up my alley. If you are in Tacoma and like coffee, you need to check this place out.

Although it was a bit difficult to find, the search was worth it! The atmosphere was modern yet inviting, and the coffee/food was excellent. I ordered a coldbrew coffee(on a nitro tap!) and a locally-baked blueberry muffin(delicious!). They also serve sandwiches and a small assortment of microbrews, though I didn’t partake during this visit. Their prices were reasonable(~$ 6 for lunch, $ 3 for pastries, $ 3 for coffee), and the staff was friendly. I’d love to come back next time I’m in Tacoma.

It was my first time at AC&T. Honestly the coffee might just be whatever. I got an Americano and it was sort of bland for my taste. They seem to have a large menu and I haven’t tried anything else so I can’t really say much more than that but the ambiance is really cute. It’s one of those hipstery cafes with big wooden tables and random nicknaks. There’s a lot of students studying because it’s right across UW Tacoma. I will return to try more of their drinks but it seems to be reasonably price which is a plus.

The coffee itself is excellent. The décor is lovely, and it’s well-located. If you can find it, that is. It’s at the junction between the State History Museum and the Bridge of Glass. The sign’s kinda hard to see, and you could easily mistake it for the museum gift shop. There’s a little soundstage and the music’s usually good. It’s kind of a surprise stumbling upon it. A very pleasant surprise.
