We recently moved from Federal Way to Tacoma and were looking for a new bar to call«ours». We have definitely found it in the 48th Street! Many beers on tap, FANTASTIC food, great people(both staff and other customers), super fun karaōke on Fridays and Saturdays, lots of TVs for sports viewing… we just love everything about it!

First time visitor, great food, great recommendations, and amazing awesome big BAY window scenery along the entire pub and restaurant, they have the seating nicely seperated so you can enjoy a nice meal here. OK! FRESHSEAFOOD! I have no better words to tell you, Seattle has some amazing fresh sea food. The Calamari is to DIE for it’s so fresh, I could not believe how great everything tastes here. I am for sure coming back here on my next trip, and preparing to taste even more food. The beer is so fresh, it’s almost as if they made it there, wait, they did, there is a distillery at the door when you walk in! Come here! Not because I said… Well yes, because I said so!!!

I really did not appreciate the way Kara spoke to me regarding my to go order. Although the food was decent, I will not spend my money to be treated like I’m inconveniencing her. If you want good Chicken and Joe’s and good sevice go to the blackstar or the 2121.

I just moved to the area, and I was very excited to visit a neighborhood bar. When I arrived with my two friends to the bar, it was 20 minutes before I was acknowledged(this wasn’t atypical because it was a crowded night). I then ordered 4 shots and a pitcher; however, the bartender advised, «I needed to wait.» We waited an additional 30 minutes while all other patrons where served. I read all of the positive feedback on this bar; however, based on my experience I am certain I will not return. Pacific Northwest, is this the best you have to offer? I certainly hope not.

Great people! They treat you like family. The owner is awesome! Pretty decent pub food, cheap drinks, and fun things to do most of the week. Karaōke is always great on the weekend. Rock n Roll bingo is tons of fun on Thursday nights. Also, a really great crowd to watch football with.

This is my favorite place to watch football. There are fans from several teams watching 4 different games. It makes for some loud fun! The beer & pizza specials are great. Very friendly staff…

STRONGDRINKS! Cool crowd vibe with all ages. Would be happy to come back when their new grill is fully installed but I was not disappointed with the 1 $ Tacos on Taco Thursday.

After reading all the reviews I decided to put my two cents in. I love that I can not visit for a month or 6 weeks and when I walk in the door the staff greets me like I was just there last night. Awesome food! Great drinks! Love the staff, past and present! The owner is absolutely the most awesome lady and I love when she has time to spend hanging out. She really makes the«regulars» and the new visitors feel like they are the most important people in her life! I have read all the other reviews and I can tell you that I have NEVER been over charged by the bar staff and I find it appalling that anyone would claim that. The fries are freshly cut from whole potatoes as they are ordered, which means you are getting the freshest and best tasting fries in town. You have to try the Strap Turkey Sandwich and Chicken and Jo’s. I have honestly loved every meal I have had there!

Don’t have a single complaint besides the fact that there isn’t much walking around room so it gets pretty cramped. Besides that, it’s comfortable and they play good music and the bartenders are great. Always have a great time here!

Always check your tab if you pay with a card. They double charge you when they think your«drunk». When you call to fix it they treat you like dirt. Other than that it’s a good crowd to be around.

We went on a Friday night around 8:30(a friend of mine was doing a gig here) The servers were friendly and had our drinks out promptly. We also ordered the sampler platter of appetizers to share and they took FOREVER to get them out. They were decent and I have no complaints other than the delay.

Been there a few times… only during weekday lunch hours. The folks who work there treat you like a long time customer right out of the box. Definitely has the Neighborhood Bar groove going. Good fish/chip special on Friday… I think the thing is you get a free beer with a lunch entrée. Free WIFI with fine reception is a plus. Wish I was within walking distance to be there evenings/weekends/during ball games… i am paranoid about DUI however…

It is a completely awesome experience to walk into a place and have no less than five people yell your name in greeting. The bartenders are super friendly, and are generally pretty good about keeping your glass full and the drinks are super strong. My favorite things about the 48th: *POWERHOUR, Sun-Thurs between 9−10pm, all drinks are ½ off *Buffalo chicken sandwich(I don’t even like hot sauce, and this sandwich is Amazing, with a capital A) *Tater tots, or more specifically, bacon cheesy tots. And they are baked with real cheddar cheese, not cheese sauce. Get some. *Pudding shots. And jello shots. But the pudding shots are fierce. *Tots *NFL sunday ticket, and the Bruce show. Show up during a Seahawks game and you’ll figure it out.

I have never dined here before, even though it is only 2 blocks from the house i’m renting a room in right now. I finally decided to go in for lunch since I was not in the mood to drive anywhere, and WOW I was surprised! Their menu is not typical bar fare, and as I try to eat healthy(not many options on their menu, if any) I decided to splurge and have a Philly Cheesesteak… again, WOW! That sandwich was GREAT! By far one of the best I’ve had in a very long time! I can’t speak for anything else, but my friend said his 48th St Burger was juicy and good. Well worth the try, I will be going back!

Jenni D obviously doesn’t know what a friendly neighborhood bar is all about. The 48th Street pub is just that — a friendly neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy, but the glasses are clean and the food is good… The pizza and the fresh sandwiches are the best… and the cocktails are strong. If you’re looking for a place to sit and have a conversation with friends or maybe watch some sports it’s the perfect place to go.

This is a neighborhood/biker bar that is within walking distance from my residence. Every once and awhile, my friends and I have too many drinks, get bored, and make the mistake of walking to this place. Every time, we are accosted by the same regulars that ask if it is the first time we’ve been there. They then proceed to hit on us. Look, fat, weird dude, my friend is so out of your league. And why do you think that just because women are sitting at the bar, you have the right to invade their personal space.(OK, that was addressed to the terrycloth headband wearing guy in the tight turtle neck that kept hugging us.) If you have a v! agina, do not go to the 48th Street alone or with only women unless you want to be: 1) constantly pestered by overbearing, drunk guys that think they have a shot at some hot lovin’ 2) followed home by one or more of said guys 3) expect your drink to be served in a clean glass That said, the joes are greasy, the food is average, and the drinks are so-so.

The 48th is like coming home to your friends after a long trip. They are such nice people here and their drinks are made with love… aw. But really, they do make some damn fine drinks here. The service is excellent and it’s never fully packed so there’s always a place to sit and have a drink while you chill out.
