Great atmosphere, food, and service. Highly recommend. Had the appetizer platter and Cuban nachos, covered in delicious pork, black beans and queso.

Food good for the price. First time trying ropa vieja, palomilla, Hemingway and empanadas. A bit salty but good. I will come again. Customer service was great, thank you Miriam, co-owner

I’ve now been here twice and can say this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The tripleta sandwich is great, absolutely packed with flavor. It has a ton of ingredients in it which made me wary but they all work together so perfectly. I also had the Cubano burrito which has more mild flavors but the saltiness of the pork paired with the sweet plantains works so well for it. The only problem I had with it was it was a bit hard to eat, cutting up the burrito often caused it to fall apart and require more effort to put together all the components for that perfect bite. Would love to see this as a soft shelled taco or something to make it more manageable. Our waitress was also great, it is so rare to find a server that knows how to deal with a toddler at the table. So often we have servers that will put hot plates or knives right in front of our child and we have to act quickly before our child is hurt.

Had a relaxed dinner with a friend this evening and we were both very pleased with our meals. Appetizer was Cuban Empanada’s…I had the Ropa Vieja and my friend had the fish and shrimp special… sauce was very tasty. It was a very slow night due to the storms, but service was attentive and food was served in a timely manner and hot. Moderate prices and house wines by the glass were fine. Look forward to returning and sampling a variety of other dishes.

I have visited Café Caribe twice this week, and regret not coming sooner. The menu is a blend of Cuban and Puerto Rican specialities, and everything that we have ordered during our two visits has been fantastic. We have tried the Yuca Frita appetizer, perfectly fried with a tasty dipping sauce. The restaurant has a rotating special list, and we have tried the Plantain«Canoe» with beef from this list, which was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The Spicy Palomilla Stew today was equally delicious, with a rich and savory broth, melted cheese, and tender steak. Outstanding food and friendly service, highly recommended.

Stopped here for take out. Super friendly husband and wife combo. Ordered the ropa vieja, ham and cheese croquettes and beef empanadas. The food was served quick and I enjoyed yummy Cuban coffee. Not sure about the homemade though. I suspect the empanadas and croquettes are frozen but their pretty good. The ropa vieja had good flavor. Overall good lunch spot :)

Always good food. We come at least once a week. Wife gets the hemmingway chicken and I get the Cuban sandwich or the roast pork. Good portion size and roughly $ 10 a head. I think their name throws people off, it is mostly Cuban food and not what I think of as Caribbean(yes I know Cuba is in the Caribbean)

Very cool ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food. I love to eat here for lunch. They have so many options but the best thing I’ve eaten here was on a special and it was salmon tacos. Went back to get it the following week and it wasn’t on the menu so I opted for the regular fish tacos and they were still delicious. Definitely worth trying.

Wow! I had the Cubano Especial with fries and ate my daughter’s plantains/platanos. Talk about GREAT! The food was hot and made fresh. The meat was moist and tender. The bread was so good. The plantains/platanos tasted like my grandmother made them. The fries wew perfect… didn’t need catsup. The service received was great! Plan to eat there again before I go home. Five star service/food

Been to this place twice for lunch by now. Me and my coworkers like to eat out for lunch almost everyday, and with limitless variety of cuisines we settled on latin food. Driving on 141 we noticed this place ad decided to try it. I ordered the arroz con pollo with tostones, and it was delicious, my other coworker got the ropa vieja, and nothing but smiles! I hear the mofongo is amazing so thats next for me. Thumbs up!

The vaca fritta was off the hook good. Love this place. Holy crap the second time was even better than first. This is a type of place where the flavors are so freaking good you keep eating till you’re stuffed. I did any ways. Damn I live this place. And the husband and wife team are really nice.

After visiting several of the Cuban restaurants in the Alpharetta area and beyond, my husband and I were excited to see Café Caribe open up so close to home. We have a few that we enjoy, but convenience is always nice, and we like to support new joints when we can. Our meal started on a high note. The papas rellenas were pretty good, 2 large rellenas with good texture inside and a crispy fried shell. The cilantro sauce(which we had to ask for) was one of the better ones we’ve had in GA. It was very flavorful, but not too sharp on the cilantro, and maybe a hint of mint. We were excited about our entrees to come. Unfortunately, the main course fell flat, to say the least. My husband ordered the Caribbean Lasagna, which was a clay dish of green plantains layered with ground beef and olives. They have a good foundation here with complex flavors, but the generous use of salt nearly overpowers everything else, and the dish really resembled more of a stew than a sturdy«lasagna» type portion. The quality of the ground beef was questionable to boot. The Chicken Milanese however, was what really dampened our experience. A large portion of chicken was coated in a plain Jane flour breading that was soggy upon arrival, but the icing on the cake was the«traditional» topping of sliced ham and cheese. No lie, the ham was cheap, thinly sliced deli ham a la old school Oscar Meyer, and the«cheese» was of the glossy plastic processed variety. The«Creole» sauce was nothing but watery glorified tomato juice. They took a simple, hearty meal from Abuela’s kitchen and reduced it to something fairly inedible by cutting theses corners, and this speaks volumes about their values as restauranteurs. I would pay a few extra bucks for better quality any day of the week. Calling this«authentic Cuban cuisine» is a joke, and that’s being generous. For now, save yourself a trip and make a beeline for Havana South on Buford Hwy in Buford or Palomilla in Johns Creek if you have a craving for Cuban. There is potential here at Café Caribe, but they are missing the point. Hopefully these guys will get a clue, sell their über expensive espresso machine, and start buying quality ingredients before it’s too late.
