It’s not a kind of genuine Japanese food. They even don’t have pork ramen soup… When I asked for recommendation, the waiter only recommend the most expensive dishes on the menu, which didn’t let me feel well. But somehow I followed his suggestion, ordered a noodle soup. It comes with tempura, diced pepper chicken, and a soft egg(I think chef just break a raw egg and put it in), in an hot pot(nabe I thought). It got strong sesame oil smell, reminding me of Chinese noodle soup, rather than traditional Japanese ramen. Taste is OK, though chicken is still cold inside. Helping is also OK, enough for lunch. I was looking forward to something more Japanese style, so this place in fact disappoint me. But it’s really cheap. Maybe I’d rather go to the Sunrise Noodle House next time which is next door serving phở, which is more genuine by the meaning of Vietnam food…

Had dinner here on a Tuesday night and there were no other customers but us… It was like we were having our dinner at our own private place. A bit odd but it was cool because we had the waiter to ourselves. My gf ordered the Chicken Katsu curry and I got the Spicy Seafood combination with udon. She loved the curry and reminds her of her favorite curry restaurant from back home in Hawaii, Curry House. As for my dinner, it had a lot of seafood, but I think there was too much bell peppers and celery. It killed the whole meal. I don’t think we’ll be back but if I’m craving cheap food, count me in to come to Sunny V Café!

a rare and truly bad experience… Went there the other day just before it got really busy… bad idea… at at our table were 2 orders of ramen and one order of donburri… the don buri came WELL ahead of the first ramen order, and the other ramen order took another 10 minutes. I had tempura which was pretty horrible, and the ramen was pretty bad… not only poorly cooked, but the noodles were pretty horrific too… I wasn’t about to try the broth. My other coworkers ramen came really late… later in fact than other people who came after us had gotten their noodles. Yeah. I’ll not be coming back any time soon.

On paper it looks good value, but the food came out was a little disappointing Chirashi Don has paper thin or small pieces sushi and total of 8 – 10 pieces only the noodle lacks flavor too

Decent sushi for a quick fix. –Tuna Roll was fresh –California Roll(w/imitation crab, avacado, & a dab of mayo) not the kind of Cali Rolls I like, but it was okay. Skip it for lunch as 15 min. take-out turns out to be 45 min.

I was craving Japanese curry for lunch one day while I was at work so I looked online for somewhere close by and came across Sunny V Café. I was able to conveniently order my food online for pick up. I ordered the Katsu Curry. My food was ready and waiting for me when I went to go pick it up. It was during the lunch rush hour so the tiny restaurant was full of people. The cashier is at the back of the restaurant so I had to make way through the cramped restaurant to pick up my food. When I finally got back to work to eat my lunch I was surprised to see how much food you get for only $ 8! My entrée also came with miso soup and a side salad. The pork cutlet(katsu) was cooked perfectly. The outside was nice and crunchy but the meat was juicy on the inside. The curry itself was also very tasty! The katsu curry hit the spot on a cold day! YUM.

Ordered Chirashi Don(sashimi bowl ~$ 11) — Most of the sashimi were pretty good, but there was this one fish that definitely tasted fishy and elastic. =/ Service was pretty good; they were very friendly. Prices were decent, with most of the other entrees well below $ 10. [I was just craving some Hashim that day.] We were thinking of ordering some appetizers or desserts, but good thing we didn’t cuz we were pretty full after.

A modest little neighborhood restaurant that has treated me well! I’ve tried many of their sushi rolls as well as some of their noodle soups. The prices are about right, but the rolls are really big and all the other dishes are pretty generous. I’ve come here on dinner dates with friends as well as with family and no one has ever left unsatisfied. My mom loves this place, which is saying a lot because she tends to stick with just Vietnamese food and isn’t much of a foodie :)

Had the cha shu ramen just because it was the only one that came with bamboo shoots. The ramen are preset with all the toppings therefore unlike other ramen restaurants where you can add to customize your ramen, but here they don’t. But they allowed your choice of noodle, whether it’s soba, ramen or udon. First time here didn’t tried much, but it was definitely decent… the ton Katsu egg was delicious. It’s the texture how they made it was something you can’t describe but it was just good. Two items came out to be $ 16…not bad for a Japanese restaurant… next I need to try their sushi and sashimi…

Sunny V Café offers huge portions, friendly customer service, and cheap Japanese food that makes a great place for large parties. The sushi isn’t the best, but their other plates are pretty good. Try the chicken katsu and fried tofu. I highly recommend eating here with a group of friends because they’ve got the whole package: plenty of seating, clean place, good deals/meals, awesome service, and(for some odd reason) the best green tea ice cream!

GREATSERVICE! I came here with a few of my friends for something quick to eat for dinner and it was at a convenient location with lots of parking, and had consistent customer service. I’d suggest trying different rolls other than the typical California Roll because sushi roll prices here are cheaper than other places. If you’re really hungry get one of the curry dishes. They come in big portions and satisfy my hunger for both lunch and dinner. Overall this is a great place to come if you want something quick, cheap, and Japanese.

Sushi = poop guaranteed you won’t like it. It kinda melts in your mouth in a bad way. like, «wait, I don’t think they did this right» So getting a Chirashi just means disappointment. because once you think it’s over, you still have like 15 more pieces left to let you bask in a bowl of doom and depression. Curry is still good though, that’s why it’s 3 stars. That in itself is just 4 good stars. And yes, it’s still like twice bigger than your ass. I’m going to cry for your stomach if you are actually able to finish the whole plate.

Hmmm… sushi had been previously frozen and not properly defrosted. The tonkatsu was freshly prepared, but relatively bland. The potato cake was the standout. overall very unexciting. Post script: a fellow diner was very sick the next day

When I have a craving for a Japanese curry dish that comes with Chicken Katsu and Fried Tofu, I get in my car and head to Sunny V Café. What’s so great about their curry plates is you can customize! The base is rice and curry(with cubed carrots and potatoes), and you can decide if you want add other items on top(i.e.: Chicken Katsu, Tonkatsu, Fried Calamari, and Tempura Shrimp just to name a few). I am not sure if Diana is the owner, but she is always there and is usually the one who will take your order. She is very sweet and never mixes up anyone orders. Friends tell me the sushi is good, but I can never tear myself away from the curry, so I’ll take their word for it. The only downside is that the venue is small so expect a wait if you go during the lunch rush hour.

a friend who works in the area had mentioned this place to me, and last week i got some takeout for lunch cause i was starving. i ordered the Saba Shioyaki bento box(i uploaded a picture). it came with salad, tuna sashimi(you can choose between california roll and sashimi), croquette, white rice, and miso soup. first things first, i LOVED the pricing. all of that for $ 7.95 definitely made me a happy camper. in terms of the quality of the food, it wasn’t bad at all. now dont get me wrong, it wasnt the BEST japanese food, but considering the price and quickness that i got my food, i was happy.

Went there for dinner and order a bento box and a sushi roll. Just like normal Japanese restaurant menu and nothing outstanding. I did ask for a «Lite Soy Sauce»(Less Salt) that usually come in a green bottle. The«Lite Soy Sauce»(Low Salt) really taste weird. Then I try again it taste like a black soy sauce. When it come to soy sauce, i can recognize the taste either from Kikoman or other brand. It’s so obvious, but the waiter still confirm that is a Lite Soy Sauce. I did not want to argue, and just proceed eating with the regular soy sauce. I just want to make sure if you promise that is a Lite Soy Sauce, then serve the correct type. I may feel not a lot of customer will ask for Lite soy sauce. Overall he did give a complimentary soup in the beginning before I taste the soy sauce. I will give them; 4 Stars for service. 3 Star for the food. 0 Star for the soy sauce! I will never go back again, since nothing special to attract me to try again.

Because of the location, I usually visit this restaurant only when I am working. Most of the weekdays are crowded with other company employees. For those of you who work, you know the lunch hour can be a pain when you cant get your food quick and easy. Here is a restaurant that doesn’t sacrifice the service for its quickness in food. It is almost like fast food sushi but without all the greasiness, and you get your money’s worth! I had the cold soba for only $ 5! and a San Francisco Roll and I was full and content. It was served nicely and quickly, had time to chitchat after, then off to work again, all within the same hour =) If you’re looking for dinner, only go if it is something casual or something homey. Enjoy!

After going weeks without sushi, when I got back to The States, my date and I for a bit of healthy dinner. I ordered the tekka don and(chirashi) and was pretty impressed by the fresh fish and low cost. The rice was also very tasty. My date got a nice speciality roll and ordered the agadashi tofu appetizer. I liked the roll but I’m not into deep fried tofu so after a small bite, I passed on the agadashi. Even with all we ordered, our bill was still only abou $ 27. I’m a fan. See ya there!
