Love this spot!
This place has a fantastic selection of beers at a great price, young crowd and beyond amazing music. Everyone is also very kind, occasionally get a beer on the house!
They also have a dance floor downstairs that is open on Fridays. Me and my friends can not get enough of this place!
Only complaint is their lack of televisions. Not the place to go to for sport games.

I dont like places where theres so much of a security presence, it automatically shows theres problems there. Sure enough, there was a fight, alot of rude customers who dont mind their business, quite a few customers have remarks when you pass by, forget about taking your girl for a drink here if shes attractive, some clown is going to act like they’ve never seen a good looking woman before and make a comment. Trouble is always a possibility. Went downstairs and immediately looked for the exits, you can easily get hurt down there with the crowd in this place, alot of thugs. Not a good place unless you like having a problem.

If you are looking for the keys to success. Look no further then Maggie Maes! Plenty of drink options and they let you and your friends bring food inside the bar. Great crew with a great owner. Laid back place with a cool atmosphere.

A great place to stop by and grab a drink. The renovation they did is really nice. Not a huge fan of the downstairs area as it is a little loud and doesn’t really provide the local pub feel that the upstairs does.

This place offers great beer on tap as well as low priced PBRs.
Their seasonal drinks were so good, came here for the fall-​seasoned pumpkin flavors and ive got to say ive tried everyone one of them here and i now can officially say that its the sweet tooth beer craving for me.
The store actually cuts in deep and is very spacious, just looks small from the outside. They have darts in the back and I do believe this is a BYOF place, which makes it 100x better.
Beers are normally priced which puts ease at heart and they have friendly youthful and vibrant bartenders to give off a good laugh.
This place attracts the more younger and mingling patrons as well which makes it a bonus if youre looking to chat up new people.
I’d say this is the best hangout location in sunnyside hands down.
Tip your bartenders if they try!

Really good prices and they have an amazing happy hour. Bartenders are always nice and they make these really amazing custom drinks. If you go in try the Melon Mule I think it was called, omg it was amazing. Fridays and Saturday nights are a really good crowd.

Came here with 3 friends in August, and we are minding our own business, drinking beer and catching up. When on three occasions three different drunk white guys had the need to come over and interrupt my convo with my friend (who was the only black guy in the bar) to say really ignorant things, up to and including using the n word. This all happened within less than an hour of being there. Of course we were pissed, especially my friend for being targeted for no other reason besides being black, and we ended up leaving and going to another bar due to feeling so uncomfortable here.
Its a shame, the bartenders here are cool, and I understand its not really the bars fault, but it is pretty ridiculous. You’d think it’s a bar in the deep south with the kind of people it attracts. Won’t be back

We were out for one of my friend’s Birthday and randomly got invited for drinks from bunch of guys at Maggie Mae’s. I haven’t been there for years and what a pleasant surprise !!! The place is renovated and has great beer selection. If you want to have fun with friends come here! Cheerio!!!

Amanda is the sweetest, best bartender! All of the bartenders are great and the crowd is great. They even have a nice party room downstairs. Huge upgrade since they did renovations too. I think it’s the best Irish bar in Sunnyside. Oh and for St. Pat’s? This is the place to be!

As far as bars go, Maggie’s has a really nice atmosphere. The crowd seems really nice and the bartenders are always friendly. The music is also really nice, mostly pop, light, dancey stuff. I think the only drawback is that I wouldn’t make Maggie’s a place I would stay at very long for. It’s more of a nice first stop to barhop to and casual drink at.

Recently Renovated, the place has definitely taken a step up. Good selection of draft beer, open layout in the back, One sticking point is the people trap caused by the stairs going down and the bar. The place can be empty in the back, but people congregate by that congestion point for some reason.

Great beer selection. The renovation brings this local pub back right into the mix of the gentrified area. Looks great and the music makes for a great vibe. Laid back friendly crowd and great prices. def worth a stop in.

What a lovely bar! The renovations look fantastic: wood interior, spacious seating — tables can seat as few as 2, as many as 8 — long bar, (nicely) dim lighting, and a vibe (e.g., fixtures, shelving) that evokes a hip, off-​the-​beaten-​road cottage. (Bonus: TV’s in along the bar showing ESPN SportsCenter.) In other words, Maggie Mae’s is good for a first date or a regular meet up with friends.
The bar has a decent selection of top-​notch craft beers (e.g., Founders, 21^st Amendment, Six Point) for $ 6 – 7. The also have a variety of cocktails, all served by friendly bartenders. You can’t go wrong with almost any Sunnyside bar — Jack’s for pitchers, Molly Bloom’s for killer food deals — but Maggie Mae’s holds its own due to its cleanliness, friendliness, and memorable atmosphere.

Jalapeño margarita & hendricks cucumber are superb! Emma the bartender makes them the best! (Dont order these kinds of mixed drinks from anyone else bc they will mess it up) Bring ur own food is good too! Nice & hip spot!

Cool bar to begin with & the new remodeling makes it even better! The only thing I can say is that that I wish they had better mixed drinks. I think they are trying to be more upscale/​artisanal but it’s not quite there yet (I got a ginger-​y cocktail that was more sour mix-​tasting). However, the ambience, gorgeous new wood furnishings & eclectic clientele make this a great place to hang. I’ll come back for a beer anytime!

I threw a surprise party in the private room downstairs. It accommodates up to 80, and was very comfortable for my party of 40. There’s a separate bar down there, and they have a dj booth with a sound system separate from the main bar.
The owners and staff were super-​accomodating and friendly. In advance, they answered all my questions and allowed me access to the space to scout it out. I was able to bring in catered food and cake, and they provided the chafing dishes, Sterno — everything I needed to serve it. When guests arrived, drinks were served quickly. Even though it wasn’t the main bar, they had a good selection of beers and liquors. I also appreciated being able to plug in my iPod and play my own playlists.
Even though I only paid for four hours, we were able to use the space all night long. I decided to set up a bar tab. My friends drink like fish, so I was happily surprised that I actually ended up getting money back at the end of the night. I think that’s a testament to the honesty of the owners, the reasonable prices, and the generous buy-​back policy.
Would definitely throw a party there again.
P. S. I also rather enjoy the main bar with its cool décor, yummy specialty cocktails, and craft beer. :)

Great local bar! Great bartenders, have great happy hour deal 3 beers for 10 bucks! Try the nutty Irishman shot or skittlebomb!
Can play pool, darts and beer pong. Sometimes they even have live Irish music. Also have juke box yiu can play.
Only negative they don’t serve food, but you can bring in or order.
Great place to get drinks for happy hour, to watch sporting games and for a night out. Always have a great time!

My college friends and I devised a wonderful plan for our Saturday night: Bar crawl throughout Sunnyside. Having a decent amount of friends in Manhattan, LI and Queens… we figured this would be a perfect place to meet up. I believe our list consisted of 6 or so bars and Maggie Mae’s was the first stop. We thought «hey we’ll stay here for half an hour» thinking it would be just alright. 3 hours later… we were still here! It ended up being a blast.
Some highlights:
-$ 3 Leinenkugel’s. (Lemon Summer Shandy.)
–I had some great conversations with folks from Ireland.
–They have darts, (which I have discovered I’m not too bad at!) pool, and a beer pong table for use.
–GREAT music. Heard «The XX, Head and the Heart, Naked and Famous,» etc.
–Plenty of seating to go around.
The games are free and really fun. Everyone here was extremely friendly including the bartenders. Beers were reasonable. And… A huge plus is that you’re able to bring in outside food since they don’t serve any. If you’re ever in the area, check this pub out!

Its an Irish bar in Sunnyside. I stepped into it and felt like I just went into a British pub. An Old-​Men pub to be honest. While ordering I got chatted up by a drunken Irish man. Yep, feels just like home.
No food, but they allow you to order things in. Pool table with plenty of space in the back. A proper dive bar if I ever seen one.
