Great breakfast and the food is served fast! Wish they played some music though. CASHONLY!

A quaint breakfast and lunch restaurant, a typical diner popular for those early morning truck drivers, landscapers, etc. The customer service was friendly. Everyone who came here seemed like local regulars since the staff seemed to be familiar with everyone who entered. I thought it was a little pricey for the quantity and quality of the meal.

Great vibe — the good diner stereotypes(diner food & specials, long counter, bunch of the regulars sitting around talking about the good ol’ days, greeting people by name when they walked in) without the bad stereotypes(energetic friendly waitresses instead of surly/gum-popping ones you see in movies). It is CASHONLY — I said I’d come back with it and they believed me — didn’t ask to keep my license or keys(I went to the 7 – 11 next door and got some cash back) The food I had was good(tuna salad with cottage cheese on lettuce with a side of tomatoes) … It didn’t look yummy but it was. I was too full to order a slice of pie … But I’ll be back for it(isn’t pie one of the diner stereotypes?). I had the cold plate special and the soup of the day(vegetable soup with alphabet pasta) total was $ 12 and change. The food my neighbors had looked good as well — meatball grinder, burger and pasta salad. Someone was cooking pancakes on the grill and the looked big and fluffy(the grill is behind the bar in the same room so you can see them preparing the food). I will be returning :) … With cash on hand!

Went in to Dove’s Nest today for a late breakfast, and was not disappointed. I had a pancake which was perfectly cooked and fluff. The corn beef hash I had on the side was also cooked to perfection. My partner had a western omelette that was filled with fresh veggies. The staff at the Dove is great. Every time we go are greeted warmly by Amanda and Vanessa, and they always take great care of us. They make the experience all the better. Overall, this little restaurant is a gem in Sunderland, and it is a great place to stop at for a reasonably priced breakfast that will not leave you dissatisfied!

got the Hobo — a superbly blended and cooked just right omelet — Jan got ham(a sizable piece) and eggs — both got home fries which were delicately prepared(no overpowering spices) and toast — service spot on, cordial, professional and attentive — atmosphere is that of a cozy nest with all the customers greeted by staff as ol’ friends and greeting each other the same. all at the best prices in the area.

We are new to Sunderland and tried this place for the first time. We will definitely go back because it is charming, convenient and affordable. The food was fine, and because the prices are so low I wouldn’t hold it to a higher standard. We ordered three breakfasts(two omelets and blueberry pancakes) that totaled less than $ 20. Service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was charming. We went at 8 am on a Sunday and the place was half-full, mostly with old timers.

Ahhhh My Dove’s Nest. I have a lot of great old memories of this place. I am sure its a very different place today, but back in the day(mid 90s), I lived right behind it while I attended UMASS. I truly loved it. Great specials, the singing well mustached Wildcat O’halloran behind the grill giving us a free concert. Lots of hangovers got remedied in those booths. I’d go into the specials in more detail, but that might as well be a hundred years ago, so I won’t. .well maybe I will. $ 2.22 for two eggs, two bacon, and two pancakes. It was a heck of a deal. I am glad to see it still exists. The Dove’s Nest is special to a lot of people. That place will live on in our memories forever. I will always miss my Dove’s Nest.

This place is awesome. The woman that runs the joint is very nice to customers but seems like a slavedriver. The waitresses are all really sweet, the food is great and the prices are reasonable. This is definitely the best place to get breakfast in the Sunderland area.

The best tiny breakfast bite n’ dash in Swonderland. Fantastically muddy coffee, eggs cooked just wet of how you’d like ‘em and no substitutions without a fight. The occasional Patriots cheerleader will hostess here. Mind your cream on the table if you sit along the North wall during the summer months as the local ant population likes to drown in them. I spent many a bleary morning after play and before work here — The Dove is a 5 in my mind’s eye but a 2 on paper though it will be a cheap early meal that will keep you full ’til dinner time.

cheap and fast food. I don’t usually eat in because I feel so awkward with everyone starring at you when you come in and eat.(everyone seems to be locals and or regulars) but other than that its not bad breakfast food.

Warning: This review is from memories of my experience there 15 years ago. Tons of character, lots of grease, and more character. This is a tiny, greasy diner where the kitchen is very much in public on the other side of a counter lined with stools. The guy who did the cooking had long greasy hair(to the point of practically *dripping*), who would cook and sing. The first time I went, I wasn’t sure if I should run out and call the board of health or stay and eat. I stayed, and I’m glad I did. The food wasn’t particularly good. It was edible, although I always suspected that I shouldn’t be eating it. The overall experience of a crazy man, his hair dripping with grease, singing while he cooked was enough to keep me coming back. This is the kind of place where the waitress just sits down at your table because her«feet hurt». I’d love to go back and see if it’s the same, although I think I’d be disappointed to find it cleaned up, with someone sane doing the cooking.

The local greasy spoon. Great for the hungover ’ morning after the party” brunch. Great cheap breakfast special, and greasy non-mass produced food. Many good memories from this place.
