My husband and I sat at the bar for dinner and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The hummus app is very flavorful(but has a lot of onions). The bean burger is always mY husband’s fav and I like the Honey Mustard Chicken sandwich. We particularly loved the efficient and friendly service of our bartender, Andrew M. He is an awesome bartender.

Stopped by for dinner while in town on business. Couple beers and an order of jambalaya were very nice end to a long day. I sat at the bar, as I was dining alone, and found it a little cramped — maybe 8 – 10 seats but arranged around a curving setup. I was wedged against the tap lines. No big deal, but not ideal. There was a wine special on Thursday that seemed to draw a large crowd… prices were decent, good selection, and tasty meal. The main restaurant area looked pretty cool. I’d be interested in trying again, with enough company to justify a table in the dining room. Evidently the place is a renovated opera house… I didn’t notice any overt design indicating as much, save for the building’s appearance from the street. I probably should have explored a little bit, but I was tired and hungry. So, my loss. Overall, a very good — if not memorable — experience. Would be happy to come back but might wait for a time when my wife is also in town. A short walk from my hotel down the street. summit seems like a cute little town with a lot of decent options. This is certainly on that list.

Sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive. Good happy hour deals until 7pm. The burger was ok, but the fries were pretty good! The chicken quesadillas were average.

Amazing French Onion Soup. It’s a must every time– please never remove this from your menu!! Great salad. Super friendly! Our waitress so amazing with making something for our kids that wasn’t even on the menu!

This place is excellent. Every dish I have ordered here has been served hot and fresh, and tastes great. Bistro burger and shimp oliglio are two of my favorites. Consistently good service that is professional and friendly. French fries are served hot, which may sound pretty basic but many places cannot seem to master. I count this as restaurant as one of my favorites in the area.

Writing this review mostly to double down on the reviews which helped me decide to go here. We have a three-year-old, but love eating out. We showed up around 6pm on a Saturday and as others have said, there were plenty of people there with kids. A majority, I’d say, which really helps if you suffer from Dining Child Guilt, like we do. Sure, we have a kid now, but that doesn’t mean we don’t hate going to a nice place and having a not cheap meal ruined by «parents» buried in their phones while their kids run between tables. We strive to not be Those Parents, but still worry about it, so walking into a place and seeing a bunch of other families there makes it seem like if one over-excited toddler squeal/scream gets out, as long as we nip it in the bud immediately, we didn’t ruin anyone’s night out. So anyway, lots of families at 6. Metered parking a block and a half away was free on a January Saturday night. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, but by the time we ordered a drink at the bar, our table was ready. Service is not super pro, but your basic sharp, friendly, efficient, college kid wait staff. Higher end pub fare, so don’t expect a wide ranging menu, but the focus pays off. As someone who is trying to swing vegetarian these days, i was a little worried, reading reviews, but the veggie burger, made on site, tasted great. It didn’t hold up well in the bun, so there was a little fork work to do, but it was enjoyable work. Enough draft beer for the snobs in your party, a long wine list and a rotating menu of cocktails we will be returning to try out. A very good meal which I would categorize as less expensive than I expected.

Large, casual restaurant. The food is very mediocre but it is kid friendly(high chairs, kids menu, crayons) and the servers/hostesses are great so I will be back. The pizza on the kids menu is the frozen cardboard type(my kid wouldn’t touch it) so something to keep in mind if you’re ordering off that menu!

Nice place to meet for lunch, CNBC and ESPN is on at the bar so gives you an idea of the type of lunch crowd they get. I went with a Apple smoked BaconTurkey club and thought it was really tasty. Opted for the Cole Slaw which isn’t slather in mayonnaise so that’s refreshing. All n all its a good place and I’d go back for sure.

I ate here last Friday night with 3 of my friends for dinner. The food was good but the reason I am writing this review was because of the horrendous service. We had the waitress Melissa G. Not only was she extremely unpleasant, never smiled, but she also spilled an entire glass of water on my friend and barely apologized, and then rang up the bill incorrectly. She offered a free dessert but we were getting dessert somewhere else so nothing was taken off the bill(which could of been the lease she could do). She had a terribly attitude, my friends didn’t want to cause a scene so we did not report it to the manager that night(even though I wanted to) but it was definitely the worst service I’ve ever had. Typically, I wouldn’t grade a restaurant this low b/c the food was decent but the service was just that bad! Get the spinach dip!

Winberies is in the old Summit Opera House. Its located where Springfield Avenue meets Kent Place. Like most of Summit, street parking can be a challenge, but there is a parking garage not too far away. The food here is good, but not great. A little pricey for what you get, but its Summit. The service has always been attentive and friendly. They have several tables outdoors, which are great for the nice weather! The Office is being renovated, so they are busier than usual. Even so, I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated.

Good food and good service. I wasn’t crazy about the fondu as the bread was really hard and stale. My stroganoff was good and my husband enjoyed his ribs. I would not go out of my way but my meal was not awful. I have had the brunch in the past and it was good too. The layout is tight when it’s crowded and you try to get food but it will pass. It’s kind of a take it or leave it place for me. Not a top destination. No issues with the staff or service. On the last visit both managers came over to say hi and see how we were doing which to me shows they really care.

Every once in a while you come across a dish that makes you go «oh my goodness this is amazing.» Winberries has that dish with their Cajun Mac and Cheese. It’s incredible, I am giving Winberries five stars based on that dish. As soon as I ordered it the waiter told me «excellent choice that’s my favorite dish.» He has great taste, it was original and amazing! We ate outside on the patio which was very nice, they had a nice lighting set up over our heads but it was too bright outside to enjoy. For appetizer we got the Shishito Peppers and Irish Nachos. The Nachos were sweet potatoe chips and mostly cheese, nothing special. The peppers were interesting, sautéed peppers that you dip in ranch dressing. I am a fan of originality so that won points there. My gf got the chicken pot pie, it was pretty good but compared to the Cajun Mac and Cheese it didn’t come close. Definitely recommend eating outside, but the inside looked pretty nice and the bar was pretty packed as well. All the portions were pretty good and the food was all very hot. But if you come here no matter where you sit, get the Cajun Mac and Cheese!

I’ve had a few work lunches here. The food is okay, but nothing special. The first time the service was really good, but the second time I went we saw our server probably 3 times and each time he came he just was not attentive. He plopped drinks down in front of people who didn’t order them and he didn’t seem interested in taking care of us at all. I’m not high maintenance when it comes to service because I worked in the industry and I know how it can be. It would be one thing if he was busy, but he wasn’t. I wasn’t impressed. Their beer list is good for craft beer. I was able to get the Game of Thrones beer on draft which is pretty much gone in a day once it’s tapped at a bar, so I was happy about that. I would go back for HH because the drink and food menu seems reasonable, but I’m definitely not sprinting back for a nice meal.

St. Patty Day treat! Stopped in for a bite and a pint of Guinness to complete my holiday check list. Looked at the specials menu and the Irish Lamb Stew sounded like a no-brainer. ITWAS! Perfectly cooked, huge portion and the service was excellent. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, my awesome waitress Casandra came over and said«The chef saw you enjoying the stew so he asked me to give you a second serving for free», and this time it came with a side of delicious sour dough. Who does that anymore?! Had such a great time I went to the bar and met the nicest couple. We shared some Jameson a green beer and cheer. In short, this place puts the hospitable in hospitality.

My wife and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night. We tried two other restaurants before coming to Winberie’s, but both places had waits of an hour. We were happy to be seated immediately here and even saw a few empty tables. This was not our first time here but first time in a while. I ordered a Brooklyn Lager and my wife had seltzer water. We tried to order chicken wings(lemongrass and coconut milk marinated, spicy soy-ginger glaze) as an appetizer, but the waitress told us they ran out. Ran out at 7:30 pm? We were both bummed and skipped the appetizer. I ordered a cheese burger and my wife ordered the special bangers and mash. The food came out fairly quickly, and we both enjoyed our meals. My burger was juicy and cooked as I ordered it, and it came on a nice toasted bun. The shoestring fries were crispy and very tasty. I tasted my wife’s dish and the bangers(sausage) was very good. Our waitress was nice but she seemed to disappear for stretches of 15 minutes, so it took a while to get our check. We also ordered a veggie burger(with choice of chips, fries or cole slaw as a side) for take-out for our daughter. When we got home, we discovered that they didn’t include the chips that were supposed to come with it. I was pretty upset. Despite this, we’ll probably come back eventually. It’s a nice and classy atmosphere but still slightly casual. And the food was pretty good.

My wife and I used to drive to Summit on dates before we were married. We drove out here from Jersey City because our senior prom was held at the, then, Hotel Suburban. We passed this building on the way and back then it was called The New Hampshire a House. Once, on one of our visits, we stopped in for dinner. I don’t recall the meal but I recall that the space was cool. So, today when my friend suggested we eat lunch here since he had seen it on Food TV, I said yes. And, I’m glad I did. The interior is warm and inviting and the wait staff attentive and helpful. Looking over the menu, I found several tempting items and was torn between the coconut shrimp(a lunch special) and the London broil with mashed and veggies. Our very personable waitress was questioned as to which she would recommend and she gave the beef the nod over the shrimp. My friend had a mushroom dish over pasta. When I balked over the veggies(carrots and string beans) the waitress offered double mash… I really like that kind of service. The London broil was cooked exactly as requested, the double mounds of real potatoes, moist and well seasoned. Both portions, generous — more dinner sized than lunch. My friend dug into his meal and pronounced it delicious. High praise from a genuine foodie. The waitress offered us a small bread basket that came with a cup of fresh soft butter. The French bread was remarkably good — a real surprise — and served warm. Since my friend was treating, I’m unsure of the total bill but it wasn’t cheap. I think my meal was $ 16 plus a couple of bucks for a soft drink(free refill). My friend’s meal was similarly priced so with tip, I think lunch was in the mid to high $ 40 range. Kind of high for my budget but, being fair, the price was within line with the portion size and quality. Good food. Professional service. Lovely room. Recommended.

Winberie’s is one of the fancier restaurants in the town of Summit. I have been here for dinner and last night i discovered the late night happy hour! I think their food is absolutely fantastic, but it is a little pricey. Their service is always great. I’ve had one of their salmon entrees and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, i had no complaints. Their dynamite sticks appetizer is a really unique dish. A lot of their menu items have cajun influence and this is a good example. It’s a long crispy egg roll filled with andouille sausage, cheese, and other yummy things. Definitely recommend these. Last night I came late with a friend for a drink and some dessert. I got the banana cream pie and it was excellent! It came as it’s own mini pie, instead of how it’s traditionally served as a messy slice. The crust was the best part, a buttery flakey graham cracker base. I got the apple pie moonshine drink and i was so in love with it. The drink comes in a mason jar with a cinnamon stick and a cinnamon sugar rim. During the late night special it’s only $ 5! I will definitely be taking advantage of their late night happy hour more often. Their food is great and the late night deal helps not to break the bank.

Great patio, six taps with three crafts, friendly knowledgeable service but rather straightforward American food, Winberie is A-OK with me. Of course«straightforward» can be spun another way, bring your picky eaters here and you’ll be fine, even veggies :) We visited for a long quiet lunch on a gorgeous weekday when sitting outside was so great, I could have stayed all afternoon. The crafts change OFTEN, our beer list was outdated already when it hit our table. That day the three crafts on tap were Flying Dog Belgian-style wheat, Six Point wheat and Stone Levitation ale(non-crafts were Blue Moon, Sam and Miller lite). Those crafts were $ 7/pint which seemed fair enough for a place in Summit. Full bar too, next time I wanna try the basil martini, that looked very interesting, or maybe the jalapeño margarita, both about $ 10. The fries are thin shoestring style and PERFECT salty fried potato goodness, resist that urge to get the side salad lol. With our fries we tried the short-rib special sandwich, deeply toasted buttered bread with very soft tender beef, cheese and fried onions; mild flavor but overly greasy, I would have liked it better if they had not buttered the bread. A daily special mushroom burger was picture perfect and my dining companion was very happy with it. But those fries . Vegetarian rating: solid 3 stars, choose from: pasta pomodoro, house-made veggie burger, veggie rice bowl, veg chili, Mediterranean salad and many appys like hummus, shishito peppers, cheddar beer fondue and pita chips with artichoke dip. Dessert of chocolate mousse was an enormous portion for $ 5 but not decadent enough, so I can’t say it was truly worth the calories. Shout-out to Dave our waiter and Gene his trainee who took very good care of us, thanks guys!

I used to love Winberie’s in Ridgewood so when I realized there was one in Summit I got super excited! I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and it was just as good as I remembered. The dip is always hot and the thick pita chips are plentiful, I just wish the dip was AS plentiful. Salads are good, burgers are good. Had a margarita at happy hour and it was pretty delicious. I know that they used to have a berry crumble dessert which was to die for but they dont make it anymore. Wish they would bring it back!

Winberie’s in Summit is a solid spot for a casual lunch or dinner on-the-go… It’s location is really key — SMACKEY-DAB in the middle of Summit’s awesome downtown. The waitress we had was really friendly and attentive. We swung by for a quick lunch on a weekend, and it wasn’t busy at all. They whipped up some decent cocktails — not MIND-BLOWING, but a-ok. The food was also decent. Note to anyone who loves a chicken caesar salad: they do NOT use an oil-based dressing. It’s the anchovie-based, fishier-tasting dressing. HUGE let-down for me, honestly… Service was good. Food was good. Wasn’t too pricey — 3⁄5.
