CLOSED?! Nooooo! My heart aches. Just drove here from DTLA to quench the peanut butter thirst that only Spread could quench! This place was amazing and I feel sorry for those of you who won’t know it’s SHEERGOODNESS. Maybe it’ll reopen in downtown LA. *fingers crossed*

I love anything peanut butter and several of my friends suggested trying Spread and since it was close to the Bowl so we decided to visit for dinner. I was a bit let down honestly but I think it may have been that I decided to make my own sandwich instead of choosing one of theirs and it was a combo I could have made at home(PB, nutella and fluff). I did try my friends chicken curry and that was impressive! I have friends that live nearby and love this place so if I’m visiting them, I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to trying Spread again, if that happens, I’ll definitely go with one of their creations.

The friendly gentleman at the counter greeted me and I asked him to make me something that would make me want to come back tomorrow. He did not disappoint. The Elvis. Peanut butter, honey, Bacon and bananas. Exactly what I needed in my life.

Hmmmm, it was good. But from all the reviews you’d think it was mind blowing and it just wasn’t for me. There are a lot of fun options. Being a first timer I went with one of their suggested combinations, the chicken curry. It definitely packed some flavor, but half was plenty for me. I picked the chicken out of the second half. Pricing is right and the place is cute. I just wasn’t wowed. Maybe I hyped it too much in my brain. If you’re in the area, it’s worth trying, but it wouldn’t be a destination spot for me.

Tasty Peanut Butter spot for any PB fan! Saved my off day for a half an hour drive out of my way to come here, and I was not disappointed! Kind of splurged and tried a «Make Your Own Sandwich» and got Blueberry bread with Coconut PB(very good PB) and topped with Marshmallow and Strawberries. They let me sample a few peanut butter flavors before deciding, which was nice. I really regret not buying a jar of their Coconut PB spread! I also got their Banana Sushi. Such a strange concept– I had to try it! You can also pick your PB, and this time I picked Dark Chocolate PB which was also a winner. The«Sushi» uses a tortilla outside which matched well with the banana and peanut butter. Would get this again! The only thing that didn’t amaze me here was their«Black and Tan» smoothie(Dark Chocolate PB, Banana, Yogurt, and Almond Milk). It was good for people who don’t like sweet(it almost wasn’t at all), but since I’ve had better PB smoothies(Pinkberry for instance, and prolly lower calorie), it is hard to say this stands out like their other menu options. Will be back for more sandwiches and PB samples on my next off day. Maybe try so you can try even more flavors.

Yum! Was walking down Ventura and wanted a snack, but not quite a full lunch and stopped by Spread PB– perfect for what I was feeling! Cool little spot! I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman who made my delicious sandwich — but he was tall w a big ol’ red beard and his picture was drawn on a paper bag on the wall– well done sir! He suggested the Elvis– just got back to my office down the street and ate half of it and liked it so much, I decided to stop to take a picture and write a review! Would highly suggest this place if you’re in the mood for a good ol’ fashioned PB sandwich w an artisan twist– what? and a bag of carrots? is this 4th grade lunch period? yes!

It’s no secret that practically all children grow up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I just wish these gourmet options were around 15 years ago! In a quaint and cute location Spread is my dream. So many peanut butter flavors, different bread options, plus more add ins to your sandwich, I just can’t get enough. The service is extremely nice and kind enough to give you unlimited taste testers of their homemade peanut butters. I decided to go with the Coconut peanut butter after the staff raved it was their favorite and it did not let me down. My other half went with the seasonal caramel apple peanut butter and delighted in how the flavor mixed with his banana«sushi». If you’re in the neighborhood this is definitely the place to check out. Just be sure to order some milk and get ready for your tastebuds to be celebrate.

Amazing PB&J sandwiches. I love the chichen curry, it’s green curry peanut butter with apricot jam, chicken, and coconut. Toasted. The only reason I don’t go all the time is because I don’t live or work anywhere nearby. I’ve also tried the peanut butter cups and am not as big a fan of the caramel one, but the Oreo is great. And anything with the blueberry bread.

I stumbled in one day because I had seen the sign for a peanut butter bar on the sidewalk. What? PEANUTBUTTERBAR? Helloooo heaven, I thought. The staff was super friendly and let me try their different infused peanut butters. The coconut pb was INCREDIBLE! I Just got a coconut peanut butter panini pressed sandwich with banana and honey because I wasn’t that hungry, but boy let me tell you, I could not stop thinking about it every day afterwards. I live about an hour away, so I ordered a jar of the Coconut PB to my house, which they shipped very quickly, and finished the jar within a week! I looked forward to going home to my peanut butter every day. Yeah that sounds kinda sad, but who needs a boyfriend when you have peanut butter?

If you like peanut butter, behold your new mecca. This place is AWESOME. I had never even heard of such a thing — a «peanut butter bar» — before I stumbled upon this gem and now I can’t imagine life without it. It was started by two best friends who bonded in 6th grade when they noticed they were both eating peanut butter sandwiches. We need more ideas hatched from the minds of kids, because this is brilliant. If you want a sandwich, you choose your base(like 5 kinds of bread including gluten free OR celery sticks!) and then choose what kind of peanut butter(plain peanut, nutty peanut, green curry, coconut, dark chocolate, maple bacon, cinnamon raisin or banana chunky peanut) OR, almond butter/maple almond butter. Then you choose your toppings: jams, fruit, bacon, pretzels, graham crackers, marshmallow fluff, granola, chocolate sauce, potato chips, nutella(OMG)! The above also applies to making yourself a Sundae where instead of bread, your«base» is vanilla or chocolate. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOUAREON A DIET. Then they have their own specialties: Diet Starts Monday: Dark Chocolate PB on white bread with Nutella and chocolate chips.(See what I mean?) Give Me S’more: Dark Chocolate PB on white bread, with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate sauce, and marshmallows.(Can I just move in here?) And they even have their own version of «sushi»: Banana Sushi: Creamy PB or Nutty PB& a banana rolled in a tortilla and cut into 8 sushi rolls. The staff is super-friendly and they have their own parking lot. These people are passionate about peanut butter which makes me passionate about them. Run don’t walk to this beacon of happiness.

Parker and ken were the nicest guys I have ever met! These two made the experience at pb spread phenomenal. I honestly have never seen 2 nicer guys. They let us sample almost every flavor on the menu. They made amazing recs and the sandwiches were perfectly made. Can’t wait to come back! And to the owners these guys working the counter are a definite must!!!

Cute little spot with a good selection of sandwich spreads. They were very friendly and gave good recommendations. I personally loved original PB, marshmallow fluff, bananas and jelly on wheat bread, toasted!

If you’re a peanut butter lover, this place is Heaven! They have various peanut butter flavors. I tried the banana peanut butter & loved it. You can make your own pb&j sandwich or you can choose from their menu. I decided to try the Berry berry nuts & bananas-which is banana peanut butter with strawberries and bananas on blue berry bread. It was AMAZING!!! SpreadPB is a must! The staff was very friendly and helpful & parking was easy. Can’t wait for my next visit! Xo Naomi

The Service: 2 staffs on duty. Very knowledgeable about the menu. The Food: Berry Berry Nuts & Banana — Blueberry bread, a spread, layered with strawberries, blueberries and bananas. One of the most POPULAR sandwiches! They put strawberry, blueberry and banana on top of the peanut butter. Such healthy dessert sandwich! Chicken Curry — Green Curry PB on wheat bread, chicken, shredded coconut, and apricot jam. I know. I know… it does sound weird, chicken and green curry PB? But it sure does taste yummy! The tender chicken with curry flavor goes so well with the peanut butter and apricot jam. On the side, NOT french fries or potato chips… they give you baby carrots! Healthy~ Can’t wait to come back & try out other different sandwiches! The Parking: Plaza parking lot & underground parking(free). When you see The Coffee Bean on Venture Blvd, that is the plaza!

We saw this place on Eye on LA awhile back and finally made it over from the west side to try it out. There were so many tiny shops that it was hard to find via driving, but once we parked, it was simple to spot. Very cute décor and a peanut butter lover’s heaven. So many flavors! My husband opted for the Elvis and I created my own with toasted wheat bread, coconut PB, strawberries, and bananas. All of the staff was super helpful and welcoming, including who we assumed was the owner. Bottled drinks, including apple juice and sodas. If yoi want coffee, you can always grab one at Peer’s first to help wash down your sandwich. The sandwiches were really good! I love peanut butter, but my husband, who is more a jelly fan, thought there was slightly too much pb ratio… A tad too think. Still good though! Next time, I would ask them to spread the pb thinly and if the bread can be extra toasted. Very filling… We could have totally split one. Will be back to try the other items.

I got to taste the cinnamon raisin peanut butter spread and it was just delicious. I wanted to get a sandwich but I didn’t since I literally ate food a few doors down. The workers are super nice and the place is cute. I really enjoy seeing the different mixes they had. I really do want to come back another time to get a spread I like and keep it at work: D for breakfast, lunch, snack, whenever. Who ever said I needed to use it only for a certain meal… psh. break all the rules. There is plenty of parking near by as it is near a shopping plaza. I will be back in a few weeks hopefully to see if the flavor I want is in a jar :3

I found out about Spread PB through a Unilocal Elite event spearheaded by Katie B. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend so Bf and I decided to try it out on a Saturday. Spread PB is inside a strip mall anchored by Coffee Bean. There’s additional parking below. The staff members are notably friendly. It’s like walking into a neighbor’s house. There are a variety of butters. The butters are made in small batches. It uses quality ingredients. Our sandwich was filled with nutty flavors, bacon and banana. It was a lot of fun and it reminded of being a kid.

Good. Lord. If you are unfortunate enough to have a peanut allergy, then I am so sorry for you. Perhaps this review isn’t for you. As for the rest of you, you have not tasted decadence until you have paid these guys a visit. They have a full menu of unique & often downright crazy peanut butter concoctions. Take the ‘Diet Starts Monday,’ for example– Dark Chocolate PB on an amazing blueberry bread with Nutella & chocolate chips. Yes, it is as thick & creamy as it sounds. Brace yourself for this one. Another unique pair are their Chicken Curry Sandwich– made with green curry PB, chicken, shredded coconut, & apricot jam– or their P’s Please Sandwich– made with creamy PB, white bread, pickles, & potato chips, for good measure. Trust me, neither is as nasty as it sounds. In fact, they’re downright yummy; they’re also the closest thing you’ll get to a savory item on their menu. These are only a few of their decadent delights; the menu is extensive, with a full set of yummy smoothies to wash down those thick morsels, as well. Or you can order a good old-fashioned carton of milk or almond milk, if that’s more your thing. And the staff is all sorts of awesome, making your delicious experience in this tiny hole in the wall complete. I definitely recommend coming here on an empty stomach. Those sweet, healthy fats fill you up fast! Oh, and did I mention you can take their oodles of different-flavored peanut butter home with you? I’m pretty sure I did. And now, you know.

Wait, a sandwich shop that makes PB&J’s?! Shut the front door. I stopped by Spread during their Grand Opening and boy was it poppin’! I loved the idea, the décor, staff was friendly and luckily there was parking next door in the lot behind Chiptole/Gap/etc. You have to give an establishment the benefit of the doubt during their grand opening time frame. I’ve never understood when people give 1 star — people you try running a business and pleasing everyone(which is impossible). This is there time to see what works, what doesn’t — so stop complaining about how it was too busy, etc. I tried a wheat bread sandwich with someone of the best crunchy pb, blueberries, apples and I can’t remember what else. maybe that’s all I got? It was tasty and acted as a light snack before dinner time. They do offer a variety of fresh toppings, soda pops, and milks. YooHoo for the win! Suggestions: — Nix the«sushi» pb roll. It doesn’t look appetizing and it reminds me of a college students meal. — Prices are a little steep. I paid $ 7 for a sandwich… I don’t know how much I would price them at… perhaps around $ 5? — Provide coffee! The owners mentioned there is a Peets next store — but LA folks are becoming coffee snobs. so even if they provided Stumptown cold brew or something similar that would be awesome! Aside from that I think the idea and quality of products are great! I’m not sure I’d drive out of my way to buy a pb&j, but if you’re in the area and need a quick snack, stop by Spread PB!

First customer! First review! Arriving at the crack of dawn(at least for me) on a Saturday at 7am for an Elvis… peanut butter, honey, sliced bananas & bacon on my choice of bread(cinnamon raisin). Ooey gooey deliciousness. I would’ve liked it toasted, but as they are expecting 1,000 customers today, on their Grand Opening Day, they are not activating their panini grill just yet. It was a cold(for LA) morning and I would’ve ordered a coffee or hot cocoa, but they only have cold drinks. The cream soda I ordered was a nice, cold way to wash down the peanut butter. For a hot drink, there’s a Peet’s Coffee next door. The concept is a peanut butter«bar» where you choose your base: white, wheat, blueberry or cinnamon raisin, or gluten free bread, tortilla, bagel, or hot dog bun. Then you choose your spread: plain peanut, nutty, green curry, coconut, dark chocolate, cinnamon raisin, maple bacon or banana chunky peanut butters, almond butter or maple almond butter. Finally, your toppings: jams, fruit, bacon, pretzels, marshmallow fluff, granola, potato chips or even pickles! The kids will love their Ants on a Log(celery sticks, spread, raisins) or the Dogwich(hot dog bun, banana in the middle, spread, jam, toppings). I’m very curious about their Green Curry peanut butter with chicken. So I’ll be back another day, perhaps tomorrow, when that panini machine is in motion… Also, want to try their Maple Peanut Butter with perhaps the coconut. Cute concept, and Dylan & Katie, the proprietors, are hands-on, in house and friendly. It’s opening day, give them a visit if you’re on Ventura Blvd. They’re in the mini-mall with Chin Chin, ground floor, just past Peet’s.
