A great experience on a Saturday afternoon. Got the 5 cheese board and was a hit at the party. I’m seriously ignorant to cheeses, so left it to them to decide. No-condescending snobbery here, they are nice friendly people. Parking is a bear(I can imagine on regular days). But a good place to relax.

Well once again, the place I used to LOVE to come to has changed its menu and now my delicious bacon and cheddar grilled cheese that comes with caramelized apples has been replaced by an over-cooked, unloved, grilled cheese that ham or bacon can be added to. Later, I inquired about the original sandwhich with the unenthused employee and he told me it is off the menu. Good bye $ 13 I’m sad I spent you here. Also, I was heavily dripped on by the wall cooler on my way in today. Sigh, I’ll miss those good ‘olé days here. Maybe it’s under new ownership?

I feel in love with Artisan Cheese Gallery through it’s reviews and when I finally visited it, all of my cheese wishes came true. It is a delicious smelling, cheese paradise with the accouterments necessary for an amazing charcuterie plate(wine, fancy crackers, homemade jams, olive oil). A year later, I finally finally finally tried their sandwiches and it’s worth it. My goal is now to try all of the sandwiches that sound appealing(I am picky, it’s awful). I went with the grilled cheese for my first time with a spinach salad. That grilled cheese was amazing, just beautifully grilled bread with this delicious smelling, gooey cheese that was oozing onto the plate. That first bite was it for me. It was like when Samantha Baker sees Jake Ryan at the church at the end of Sixteen Candles. I was going hiking after my lunch here, so I grabbed the pesto panini to eat after the hike, which, of course, was fantastic as well. I was told that those sandwiches don’t really count as sandwiches because they don’t have meat in them. I guess I have no choice but to sample sandwiches featuring meat, notably, I want to eat the spanish turkey(turkey, marcona almonds, red peppers). They offer decent options for beer in their fridge. I’d really like to just eat myself to death here.

One of my favorite places to eat in LA. I recommend the pesto panini and the Gouda salad — both are an amazing mix of flavors with high quality cheeses. Some may consider it to be on the pricier side, but you’re getting what you’re paying for and it’s worth it every time.

Cheese heaven. The staff is lovely and knowledgeable. They are quick, they were nice to me even when I was crabby and irritated that it was sooooo crowded(live singing) if I wasn’t having a bad week I would’ve joined the others. Sweet place. A note to patrons visiting the place, don’t forget to tip. Don’t be a douche!

I had lunch today at Artisan Cheese Gallery for the first time and became concerned about the behaviour of one of the waiters there. I didn’t know his name but he had very short cropped blond hair and I overhearing his rather inappropriate conversations with three of the diners seated on either side of me on the patio. This will be discussed with management. Please note, the other waiter, who had a blond pompadour and the manager were great people and really sweet to the customers on the patio. Also, I enjoyed my Chinese Chicken Salad and dining on the patio on a beautiful day was very special.

Artisan cheese gallery, on Ventura blvd in Studio City, is a nice, small place to go to when you are craving some cheese and wine. The sandwiches here are also pretty good. Prices are not cheap, but it’s not overly expensive at the same time. While I’ve only been here once, my experience with the employees and servers here was very pleasant. They were all very nice and accommodating. They gave us good recommendations, and we really enjoyed our experience here. After a bottle or two of wine, and some delicious cheeses, we were quite satisfied, and on our way to the next place. Check this place out if you are into wine and cheese. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Cute little place with a decent selection of cheeses. The cheese and meat plate was tasty and perfect for two of us to nibble on while we had our wine. The wine selection is ok but nothing special. They had a happy hour Unilocal Check in special but the cashier never mentioned it and I had already paid and sat down before I discovered it. They closed at 7 which was a total drag because we felt a little rushed. If they extended their hours I might go back.

My first time coming in here was a few years ago when I found out that they were the only shop nearby that served«Kokos» cheese, which is a coconut cream Gouda cheese. Very delicious! Sadly, they don’t carry that cheese anymore and after having a lengthy conversation with Ivan, one of the cheesemongers, and he explained that they don’t carry the cheese because it didn’t sell well.(Such a shame, really.) He also mentioned that Artisan Cheese Gallery is under new management and they now have a calendar with various events or daily specials. I happen to have come on a night when they were doing happy hour that was followed by a tarot reading. I find the combination fascinating, especially because it was held at a cheese shop. How random and fun! During my visit, I used a Groupon I had for two glasses of wine and a cheese, fruit and nut plate.(During happy hour you can get a glass of wine and the plate for $ 16!). In addition, I ordered a croque monsieur. Delicious toast bread slices filled with ham and cheese. Everything was great. The food, the wine, the ambiance and the service. Check it out for yourself and keep an eye on their events.

Came by here for lunch. They have a dog friendly patio and bring out a water bowl for your dog. Placed my order inside and then they brought it outside to my table when it was ready. I had what I thought was a simple grilled cheese sandwich. Then I remembered the selection of cheeses offered inside and realized they more than likely don’t do a simple grilled cheese here. This sandwich had a type of cheddar cheese I have never had before and I personally didn’t find myself a fan. My wife on the other hand liked it a lot. Not going to lie I’m a guy who likes a Kraft deluxe single in my grilled cheese so what I had here was far too fancy for me! I don’t feel I can knock them for that since I was in a «cheese shop» and they certainly weren’t going to be serving Kraft cheese lol. The sandwich itself was grilled perfectly and looked sinfully delicious. There were some sliced pickles that came on the side of the grilled cheese and I don’t know what kind they were but they had a really nice zing to them. I’d come back again and ask if they sample some of the cheeses before deciding on what I would order.

I’ve been to that cheese artisan gallery several times. Every time the food is phenomenal. Great atmosphere. Great staff ! They are always welcoming! Huge wine selection and a fair corkage fee. Great place to bring the girls and unwind. Locally owned!! I can’t wait for paint nights and comedy open mic to start!! It feels like home there!

It’s rare to find a neighborhood spot that is so cool, classy & inviting and manages to have live entertainment, wine tastings, and social activities to pull in the neighborhood. I love this place. They have a great selection of fabulous wines, delicious artisanal cheese plates and a hip & friendly staff. And it’s very reasonably priced, especially considering the upscale European vibe it has. I went there during the previous ownership a couple of years ago, and it was a cute place, but owner Shelley Jansen has really stepped it up with the décor & the menu. I have actually sung here twice with my jazz duo and all my friends love the atmosphere! The same friends came back a second time because they really loved the vibe, the food and the wine selections. Given the fact that so many restaurants are shuttering live entertainment, cutting back for monetary reasons etc., I’m so grateful that the Artisan Cheese Gallery continues to keep it going and really makes an effort to bring in the neighborhood. Bravo! We need more places like this!!!

Since my last review, I’m happy to say there’s been a change of ownership — and the difference is noticeable. Service is twice as fast, the vibe is livelier while still neighborhood-centric, and the cheapness seems to have evaporated. Always a delight to watch a local business get even better.

I highly recommend you visit this place! Outside of the owner being a TOTAL sweetheart!!! When your in this place you really feel like your somewhere else, like in another country or something. We sat that there for hours! It’s like you don’t wanna leave. The presentation of the food is so on point! They also make and sell their own products. You MUST try their pickles!!! The wine is muy fantastico!!! They have wine and cheese tastings on Saturdays!

Waste of money. Overpriced, terrible service, snobby lady at the cashier desk, and stale bread. Delight. $ 20 cheese platter was the size of a small child’s play lunch at recess. Disgraceful, owners need to get a reality check and venture outside Studio City to get a relative grasp on prices.

Even though we showed up right about at closing, the staff slowed three of us to order a beautiful(and while I hate this word, it applies: sumptuous) camembert plate with fruit paste and delicious breads and wine. In and out in 15 minutes due to respect for the fact that these lovely people needed to be able to close up, I felt I had enough time to judge the selections, the staff, the environment and ambience and the food. All great. Great like, I’m still high on my Camembert buzz. Cheese buzz. Read about it. It’s real.

I love this place! Best sandwiches in town! I usually get the veggie panini with whatever soup they have that day and I am never ever disappointed. The quality of the ingredients is superb and the taste is symphonic! If you’re in the area and want a casual lunch without skimping on the quality, I’d recommend stopping in.

Just want to say Thank you to Bradley for making my not happy experience very happy the second time around. I really appreciate the effort. My friend and I both really enjoyed our salads. The only thought we had that could improve them was it would be nice if they came with a small piece of bread or better yet a yummy cracker or two. Because of Bradley I will continue to enjoy the yummy salads and cheese at the Artisan Cheese shop I will bring my own crackers :)

Did someone say«Cheese»?! Artisan Cheese Gallery was hands down, a bad-ass experience! I visited last Saturday with one of my best friends and were beyond impressed with our experience. We opted for the 3-cheese option, cheese mongers choice. At first glance, I couldn’t begin to tell you a single name of any of the cheeses we tried, 1 soft and 2 firm – but the orange smoky one(I believe it was a gouda aged almost 100yrs) was so delicious. The board had 3 cheeses which came paired with both apricot and strawberry preserves, as well as a fig and nut roll thingy. They provide you with a small basket of bread to launch the cheese into your mouth, however I was equally pleased eating the cheese as it were. Where’s the wine you ask? We decided(after being allowed to taste a few) on a red house wine called«The Dude». This wine was so good I am tempted to return just to snag a few bottles for special occasion. We leisurely enjoyed our experience, and it brought me back to memories of my trip to Paris in 2011… good times. I wish we had arrived a tad sooner, as we were the last customers to leave. Joseph?(I’m terrible with names) – our glorious and super attractive Cheese Monger, was incredibly kind and patient and allowed us to finish our wine and cheese well past the closing hour. We all even chatted a bit as he put up chairs and we continued to sip on our wine. This may become a regular thing for us. We were both pretty jealous of the 5 cheese board we saw pass its way to an adjacent table. It looked incredible.

RIGHTOFFTHEBAT I WANNAMENTIONTHEYHAVEGLUTENFREEBREADFORTHEIRSANDWICHES. and not the bad, cheap stuff that breaks apart when toasted, my friend is Gluten Free for allergy purposes and this was one of the first places in more than a decade of suffering from Celiac where she enjoyed the presentation, taste, and the fact that the bread stuck together My friend and I came to grab a nice, quick lunch on a Wednesday Afternoon. We were able to find metered parking in front. It’s really a hidden gem on Ventura, right next to a gas station and in the same area as countless restaurants and coffee shops: you find Artisan Cheese Gallery. Along one wall are a selection of wines and against another wall is the Cheese display. they have subtle paper menus and right away we encountered our first problem: everything looked delicious, how would we decide? When we approached the counter, their cute cashier asked us if we knew what we wanted and we unleashed the recommendation question on him and he agreed with my choice of the Garlic roasted lamb panini, my friend got the mozzarella basil(on GF bread). OH, we also ordered the half order of the Bistro Salad with Tuna, to share. He assured us that the half would be enough. it was. They were experiencing a bit of a rush so the table we wanted to sit out outside was still dirty from previous customers but they were so sweet and quick about cleaning it up for us — no complaints — the few employees(and I think one was the owner) are wonderful and attentive. We didn’t order drinks but around the corner they have a self serve water station, just wish the water was colder(it was room temperature) but I could have easily asked for ice. As we were waiting we nom-ed on some Habanero chips that we saw by the check out– these chips are NOJOKE, they literally tasted like I was shaking hot sauce in my mouth. The cashier guy(didn’t get his name –damn) was really attentive and offered to refill our waters throughout our meal. Our salad arrived first and we loved the crispy cheese garnish on top. We asked for the dressing on the side so we could mix it in ourselves… I was really hungry so I inhaled my portion and it was delicious. The sandwiches came out a few minutes later and were equally satisfying. The only thing I would mention is the pesto is a little sweet. I’m not sure if that is the right word but it wasnt quite the taste of pesto I’m used to– I just double checked and it was a cashew pesto so maybe that’s what it was. Like I mentioned about the gluten free bread it looked great and satisfied my friend to the fullest. There were so many great menu items that I have no doubt I will be back, maybe for an early dinner one night so I can add a glass(or two) of wine :)

After the original lunch plan fell through it was here to Artisan Cheese Gallery where we ended up grabbing lunch. When I first walked in and noticed the cheese case I got a big smile on my face. The inside also had a decent amount of people which was a good sign. They also have a dog friendly patio! The girl who took my order was nice and let me me know that she would bring a water bowl out for my dog, Brownie. They had cheese boards, sandwiches, salads and a daily soup on the menu as well have a wine selection. One downside during my visit is the refrigerator where the drinks customers purchase at was broken, so we had to pick out the drinks that were the coldest being kept on what little ice they had. I felt they should have given us the drinks or discounted them for the inconvenience given it was a very hot day outside. Also it seemed like the A/C inside might have been broken because it was humid in there. Artisan Grilled Cheese Sandwich($ 10) — This had Ballard Cheddar for the cheese and I really like it. My husband didn’t care for the taste of the cheese however I enjoyed the taste. The sandwich was grilled just right and the cheese oozed so beautifully! A great place to stop by for a sandwich and I’d like to try the homemade carrot honey soup possibly in the future.

It’s so sad to see a great restaurant change due to new ownership. The food is still good, but the inventory is not. They rarely have new cheeses anymore and the cheese they do have, is very low. The cheese case is practically empty. Which is kind of sad for a place called«cheese gallery.» Joan’s on Third has more cheese than this place now. It’s also disappointing to see the change in the staff. Customer service is not what it use to be. None of the staff seem happy. They all seem a tad bit defeated. They aren’t the same happy bunch they use to be. It’s also a lot of new faces. It seems the people under the old ownership mostly left. Once again, the food is still good, hence the three stars, but overall experience, just Ok. Hope it improves, or the boyfriend and I will need to find a new cheese place.

Cute little cheese shop! and I love that they call themselves a ‘gallery’. We got the 3 cheese/2 meat platter… and it was plated beautifully. The portions were generous, including a lot of dried fruits/nuts. This is definitely a great place to meet up with friends on a casual afternoon… sip on wine, snack on cheese. my type of day.

We have been meaning to try this place forever and we finally got a chance last Saturday. They have some parking in the back of the store which is pretty helpful since Ventura Blvd can get pretty busy. The shop itself is cute. Wine and food goodies line the shelves. The room is filled with the smell of fresh cheeses. We were greeted right away and then they helped us pick out a nice selection of cheeses. I also mentioned that we didn’t need any fruit or bread on our cheese plate and they were able to accomodate and even gave us a few more almonds. The cheese selections were tasty. We had some salami and spec which paired well with both our wines and cheeses. Friendly service, great selection of cheeses and friendly service… a definite reason to go back.

LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE ! My friend and me were looking for a cute place to catch up and chill with a glass of wine and quality snacks in the afternoon. The Artisan Cheese Gallery was perfect for it . On arrival the lovely friendly sales assistant gave us plenty of cheese samples to try… mmmmmhhhhh it was very difficult to make a final decision. We settled for 4 big slices of French cheese, no bread and two glasses of Italian Pinot Grigio. He prepared a very yummy cheese board with cranberries and apricots for us, which was delicious. We sat outside for a couple of hours, no one pressured us to order more or pushed the check on us … Very very cool.
