Hair By Paul

Paul is amazing. Not only will you get a great haircut, but you’ll make a new friend and one worth keeping forever. I’ve been to a number of people over the years, but Paul has a way of cutting my hair that nobody has been able to duplicate… so why fight it? Thanks Paul, you’re amazing!

I have been going to Paul Witten to have my hair cut and colored for 2 years and I am very grateful that I found him. He is a skilled hairstylist who takes great pride in his work and it shows. He really listens so that he can give me the style and color that I have envisioned.
Paul is a consummate professional and a very nice man. I can’t give him a higher recommendation that to say that I won’t let anyone else touch my hair.

The best in town!!! I’ve been to very Beverly Hills shop and their coloring doesn’t last as long as Paul’s. He also cuts the best styles. All his clients look great (a lot of actors). He takes time to find out what you want, and then delivers brilliantly. Worth the drive over the hill. love me some Paul done hair!!!

From the first time Paul cut my hair, I don’t know how many years ago, I was hooked. My curly, long, out of control hair always looks fabulous when I’m done! Great job every time! And Paul is fun, personable and professional — all in one! Can’t imagine going to anyone else! What can I say — he’s the best!!!

What can I say about Paul? He never disappoints. My hair is curly and thick and it seems that whenever I get it cut, it either gets worse or the layers look completely choppy. Paul has a handle on it. He always gives me a great cut. Always. I never have to worry that I will look like I have helmet head again!
I saw one of my favorite industry folks in his chair. When I asked him, he shrugged it off. He’s genuine, real and humble — which is rare in this city.

Since I started going to Paul five years ago, I’ve strayed once because someone gave me a free haircut elsewhere… and I totally regretted it.
Paul is fantastic. He has a good sense of who his customers are and will tell you the truth about whether a color or style will work. He cut my hair when it was long and then gave me a great bob, too.
I won’t go anywhere else.

I have been going to Paul for a few years now and he’s great. He does both cut and color for me. The salon is intimate and fun and conveniently located inside Diamond Beauty at the corner of Laurel Canyon and Ventura.
His color and cuts are fantastic and reasonably priced, I would recommend him to anyone.
He is very honest and will tell you what cut and color would look best on you. He does free bang trims as well.

Frankly, I’m conflicted about writing this review. On one hand, Paul deserves it. On the other hand, if everyone knew about how good he is, it might get hard to get an appointment.
Paul has been rocking my cut and color for years now (most people don’t know that my shiny, reddish locks aren’t the real deal. bwahahaha!) He always does a great job and seems to take genuine joy in sprucing people up and sending off with their hair looking great.
Unlike other high-​end places, he actually consults with you to make sure you get the style you want. That said he will work with you and lend his expertise if you want to get creative. I’ve let him take the reigns on a couple of occasions with some directional input (e.g., «How about something airy for summer?) and he’s never disappointed.
Another thing I love about going to Paul is his salon: It’s stylish, while remaining quiet and low-​key. Give me a quiet, intimate setting over a garish salon with loud techno-​dance music pounding any day.
(Also, as another reviewer said, I’ve walked in early for my appointment to find an recognizable actress, actor or two… celebrity doesn’t impress me in and of itself, but it does speak to Paul’s talent.)

I love Paul. He understands hair and he listens to his clients. He’s an amazing colorist — I get my hair colored and highlighted — and I always get complimented on the color. He’ll cut it exactly the way I want it or if I’m unsure he’ll know just what to do. It’s always very relaxing, he never pushes products or processes, and I walk out feeling beautiful. I’ve done the Beverly Hills thing and never felt as good about myself as I do after an hour with Paul.

I had been going to a VERY expensive place in Beverly Hills and thought I would try something different with this economy! Paul uses the high end products like Kerestase (my fav), spent time talking over how I would like my hair length, layered and highlighted. When I went back to work everyone said it was the best job yet! Very Happy, Highly Recommended!

I was referred to Paul by a friend and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been a faithful client for a few years now and I’m amazed at how consistently I get compliments after each haircut. I love it!
Paul definitely knows what he’s doing and always asks if I want the regular cut or if I’m looking for something different. Apparently, he’s used to working on all kinds of clientelle. A few months ago, I was a bit early to my appointment and saw an extremely well-​known TV star getting her hair done with Paul. They seemed like they were old pals from the way they were speaking. Personally, I couldn’t care less whether my hair stylist works on celebrities or everyday people (or both in his case), but it’s a bit comforting to know that celebs trust him with their hair… Doesn’t hurt. He sure isn’t as expensive as you’d expect from a high level salon.
I also like that there’s plenty of free parking in front of his salon, and I usually follow up an appointment with a quick hop to the Trader Joe’s next door. Extremely convenient.
