Fireside Ale House

Its not a bad place to go to if you just want to grab a beer and watch a game. I would never order food there again. It took over an hour for an appetizer when it was completely dead in there. Also, after they brought out the appetizer an hour later, it was cold. I like the layout and everything but I would only go there to grab a drink

I’ve been here a handful of times already and my service is always great. I feel like their Burgers are their specialty. The apps were tasty, especially the mac n cheese bites, they’re the best. It’s a little loud, but a fun place. Prices were very reasonable. We’ll be back.

Been here three times. Twice on Saturdays and one time during the week. You do wait a long time for your food. But after the second time I knew it’s because they want it perfect. Each time the wings are awesome and the pizza was good. If you like brown cheese tell them keep it in a bit longer. But I have had pizza, the southwestern burger and chicken and shrimp pasta. All three have been perfect. I don’t mind the long wait as I did the first time. This is a perfect place for any sporting event and living across the street I hope this place stays open.

Went here for a quick lunch New Years week. We Live nearby and have never been here. We decided to give it a chance.
The Decour is nice lots of TVs. There is a long nice fireplace right in the middle. I ordered the wings and just like another review said they did not have the bourbon sauce ha ha. My wife got the mini burgers. We thought the food was pretty good the service was slow and the ambience was good. I would say the current rating of three out of five stars is pretty accurate. It is what you would expect.

While in town, my husband and I joined his parents and some of their friends for a quick dinner at Fireside before heading off to our next destination for the evening.
I ordered a veggie wrap with steak fries. The wrap seemed to be stuffed with greens and onions, topped with some kind of balsamic dressing. It was good, but kind of odd that nothing else was in it. The steak fries were amazing. Mmm. Perfect portion for a dinner place — $ 9 and I ate it all. My husband didn’t like his chicken caesar wrap, though. Apparently it had a lot of onions in it? Odd.
Service was alright. Food was good, but not amazing. Prices were fine.
Fireside has a clean, upscale but not fancy pub feel. Lights dim at night.
Just another typical suburban ale house addition to the suburbs.
Cool to have it here, but not a place I’d frequent often.

The gf and I met up with a long time companion here and it was five stars.
Came here a second time with coworkers and it was a different experience.
Which has made me go down to 3 stars.
Pros:

Cons:
jukebox offline (both times)
crappy music videos /​DJ that kept playing stuff from 2000 – 2002.
service that was hit or miss all night.
I feel that this place is unsure of what kind of bar it wants to be.

Normally we arrive for dinner. The waitress seats us by the dart games so we can play darts before and after dinner. They have one of the largest on tap beer selections that I have seen. Service has always been fast. Normally 20 minute wait for dinner. Have had the chicken wings, potato skins and nachos. The loaded nachos are too much for one person to eat, but they do supply take hone containers for left overs

I came here with some coworkers for some after work drinks on a Friday. It was pretty early, around 5 pm, and e place was still pretty empty. They had a $ 5 martini special. I ordered the 50 Shades martini which was super sweet and weak but delicious nonetheless. They had a pretty big beer selection and it was reasonably priced. We ordered a couple apps that were sup par. The nachos had a lot of toppings but they all fell to the bottom in a mushy mess. The appetizer platter seemed like freezer snacks thrown in the oven and on the plate. This seems like the kind of place to go to for the drinks not the food. Service was not very attentive.

First of all… Thanks to Gina for the tip on this place running out of things. My wife and I were in the mood for wings. The server mentioned that they were out of the bourbon sauce. Bummer. Gina — you called it.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place to have beers or cocktails with friends, and don’t care much about the food, then this place is just fine. Go drink, enjoy your friends… no problem at all. For that, I’d give the place 4 stars.
BUT… this is a restaurant and a bar… we went on a nice summer evening, but wouldn’t sit outside because there were smokers out there. Sorry… that’s just a fact. The food is just OK. Not horrible, but not tremendous. As others have stated, after couple of years of being open, this place should be packed on a Friday evening on a beautiful summer evening. Why not? I’m guessing that the food is not scaring people off, but it’s not brining them back over and over.
By the way, the wings were OK… good, but not a destination place for wings.
I think if they step up the food quality and overall service just a bit, they will be packed.
One more thing… making gambling available seems to be in vogue around here lately. I’m not opposed to gambling, but it’s not going to draw me into your place just for that. If I want to gamble, I’ll go to a boat. Otherwise, just give me good food and service at a reasonable price, and I’ll be back over and over.

So my plans this past Saturday night turned to Option B when the bar my friend and I went to was at capacity… we didn’t get tickets to the band we wanted to see in advance so we weren’t let in. Such a bummer! Plan B was to see my friend’s country band, though I’m not a fan of country music… I don’t mind making a trip to see them from time to time. I don’t live in this area so it was a small trip out.
Saturday pm — cover was $ 7 to see the band. There was plenty of room to sit in that area of the bar, the other bar was a little crowded, but not packed or anything. The atmosphere here was actually pretty chill, totally my kind of place with that whole sports bar feel to it!
It’s always a bummer when bars don’t have «specials» on Friday or Saturday… I get it, it’s their money making nights over the weekend, but throw your patrons a bone, already. This place DID have Saturday PM specials and we got ourselves these HUGE drafts of beer for $ 5 — made us very happy! There were other specials but I can’t recall just because that beer special was pretty awesome.
There is outdoor seating here too, and they have a full menu which I have no idea about. I would definitely come back here again, all was good in this place!

Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars. The service was great (Kimberly is super friendly!) But the food is a downer. I started with a half dozen oysters that were on special for $ 1.50. To be honest, they didn’t taste too fresh, and weren’t shucked properly, having tiny fragments of shell on the meat. For the meal, I opted for the beer battered cod platter. Maybe it’s just me, but when I hear platter, I imagine huge portions. Not here though. There were 3 wimpy strips of cod, heavily battered, with a mediocre side of fries. They came with cole slaw, which had a weird chemically-​taste to it.
If I had to give stars for the food alone, I would say 2. But Kimberly saved the day with her service and attitude.

Two stars is only based on getting a watered down Bulleit rye for $ 8.50 R u kidding me. I understand this is not a whiskey or bourbon. Cmon when I say on the rocks i didn’t mean water ton of ice and a splash of Bulleit. How can you get such a simple drink wrong and charge me so much for it. I would pay the 8.50 if it was served properly see my pic of the drink and you tell me if it was worth it.
Don’t get me wrong my previous post is based on food and service and did give it 5 stars that has not changed. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. I would go back, just won’t order drinks on the rocks.
