Excellent food and service. I’m on the road most of the day and have visited other Mexican restaurants in the area and this Acapulco’s is certainly on the top of my list to stop for a great meal with great service. Pick any choice margarita, or my favorite«Negra Modelo» and enjoy.

I’m forever a slave to Acapulco’s tortilla soup. Their rice is always tasty too! Been going to Acapulco’s for ten years now! The guac station is an excellent addition

This place calls itself a «Mexican Family Restaurant». If that’s their goal they are reasonably successful. No, Acapulcos is not authentic Mexican but I don’t think it’s trying to be. It serves all your usually Mexican standards like burritos, enchiladas, tacos, etc. The place is decent sized and located in Stratford center. There is parking in the back but it’s kind of convoluted and not plentiful. Parking on the street is actually better when the place is busy. It does seem like lots of families are there whenever I go so if you are looking for a quiet romantic place this probably isn’t it. I’m no expert but if you’re looking for decent basic Mexican food this place is pretty ok. You could do a lot worse. They make pretty darn good guacamole and I’m pretty picky. I go for the standard American version. They make something called a Mexican version that I think adds cheese, which just sounds wrong to me. But stick with the American version and I think you’ll be happy. They also make decent margaritas. Prices are fair for what you get. You can find cheaper Mexican food for sure if that’s your main objective. Service has always been fine whenever I’ve been there. Overall it’s worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

We loved this place! Our party of seven went on a Friday night. We waited about 20 minutes for our table before being seated. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. We ordered the homemade guacamole which was to die for! Everyone loved their meals! The portions are very large and can easily be shared! Definitely the best and freshest Mexican I’ve ever had! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

Ok so I’ve been going to Acapulco’s for YEARS! I keep coming back because they make an amazing margarita. And the chile con queso… TODIEFOR. BUT… I’m giving them 3 stars because of the service! My dining room experiences have, for the most part, been great. Most of the girls are very friendly but there’s this ONE guy behind the bar who I’ve never seen smile. Not welcoming at all and also, not the least bit attentive. I’ve had to wait what feels like an eternity to get another drink. Also, once the kitchen closes, they don’t even have CHIPS to offer you for pete’s sake. Nothing to munch on at all. Also, they close at 1 on the weekends whereas most places close at 2, kind of sucks. Oh! And there’s no such thing as «last call». I’ve been shoved my bill 5 mins before 1 various times. I’ve worked as a waitress and yeah, I want to go home at the end of the night too but you can’t kick your last customers out just because you don’t feel like being there anymore. You have to treat them just as good as your first customers of the day. By the way, if you’re looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this isn’t the place to go. They have decent food but by no means is it anywhere as good as actual Mexican food made by my friends’ Mexican mother.

I have been to Acapulcos many, many times. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. The food is another story. Bland, and stale tasting. The best item? The chips and margaritas. Recently I had a «chicken avocado salad» which tasted like something from a high school cafeteria. The(iceberg) lettuce was dry and even brown, the chicken was dried out and tasteless. Two clumps of avocado were added but could not save this pathetic meal. Mexico has wonderful cuisine. Acapulcos should take advantage of its great location and improve its menu. They should hire a wonderful Mexicana chef, Claudia Coello:( ) to draw many more customers and satisfy the craving for GREAT Mexican food.

Everything here was fresh and delicious. We had carnitas, tacos and enchiladas. The staff was friendly and helpful, we ate here on a busy Friday night and enjoyed it. Excellent Margaritas!

Literally been going there all my life and it’s always amazing. The staff is great, the food is great, the atmosphere is great. Big portions, great price. Their veggie fajitas are my favorite. Their chips and salsa, an important part of any mexican restaurant, are amazing and endless.

When we came back from our vacation in Mexico this was the first place we came for dinner. Their food is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. I love their servers. they are always coming by to make sure everything is correct and you are enjoying your food. The bright colors on the walls really transport you back to Mexico. The food is great, my personal favorite are the fajitas which come with a meat of your choice, onions and peppers, rice, and beans. The margaritas are always a good choice!

One thing about Acapulcos is that the atmosphere is engergetic and fun. The food not so… Well the nachos were super with the beef — so we were off to a great start. However, my husbands steak frajitas had meat that was chewy and fatty. Truthfully, my fish tacos were the worst I ever had. The sides were great, but the fish was mushy and not appealing at all. Go for the great drinks and appetizers and you can’t loose.

Came here for a late dinner yesterday and sat ourselves at a little high top in the bar area. Bartender handed us menus, took our drink order and brought over fresh chips and salsa. I got a mango margarita(as usual) and he ordered a corona. The margarita looked huge! And the Mexican flag garnish is adorable! Any who, we ordered the taquitos to start along with the bacon and shrimp tacos and the enchiladas rancheros. We devoured the taquitos, my boyfriend said they were his favorite. He enjoyed his shrimp tacos and we both liked the enchiladas, although we couldn’t finish due to how much food they give you! One downside is that we were only given 2 napkins… ok. Good food although service was a little slow. The bartender was the only one working the bar area and it started to fill up while we were there. We were ready to go and just went up to him to get our check. Website says they have Happy Hour M-F from 3 – 6. Gonna have to come back and check that out.

Why is this place still open? I went here for a quick lunch. I walked into the restaurant, but there was no hostess. She eventually walked in behind me. It turns out she was the one«windexing» the glass door. As she walked in, she didn’t even greet me, grunted, and just waved me to sit wherever I wanted. They quickly brought out chips and salsa. The chips were pretty good, but the salsa tasted like Old El Paso out of the jar with a few fresh green onions tossed in to make it seem authentic. The waiter finally made it over to my table to take my order. I had a real hankering for nachos, and I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this choice. My order came out quickly, and although it was the smallest plate of nachos I’ve ever been served, it didn’t matter because I was so hungry. It was slathered in cheese with a tiny sprinkling of pico de gallo on top but generous servings of sour cream and guacamole. I ripped into it but could not get over the odd flavor of both the cheese and beef. The meat tasted off, and the cheese was just horrible. Even putting on extra salsa didn’t help. I was very disappointed. On top of that, the waiter never stopped by even once to check in on me. I had to wave him down to ask for extra napkins, and I kid you not, he brought me ONE napkin. If Acapulcos is that cheap on napkins, I can only imagine how cheap they are or what corners they cut in the kitchen. I remember going to this place once a few years ago, and this recent visit quickly reminded me why I never returned. I’d choose Chipotle over this place any day, and that’s sad.

The service is getting better, but my food was eh. I got a taco salad that was fairly dry and unexciting: literally shredded lettuce, grilled chicken, chopped tomatoes and shredded cheese in a taco shell. Guess since I didn’t want the guacamole they didn’t know what to give me. I would have been happy with some beans or some other condiment to spruce it up lol My dessert was the best part of the meal.

Do NOT not eat here! I literally just walked out the door after finding part of a bandaid in my salsa. Beyond disgusting! It should have a negative star! I want to burn my tongue off. And not even an apology from a single person.
