We usually have a good experience here. Having a couple of beers and kicking it. The tri-tip sandwich was pretty good today. I ordered a 2 piece broasted chicken plate for my son. They charged me for a 3 piece when I ordered 2. The chicken tasted old and was overcooked(it looked like it was cooked twice.) It also tasted like they have never changed the cooking oil either. Yuk!

Always good comfort food. Today I ordered open faced Turkey sandwich smothered in gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. Came out piping hot, turkey was not dry and so yummy! Every time I come I am not disappointed. I like that you can watch and hear the sounds of bowlers, the cracking of the pins. It’s a nice environment.

UPDATE: 10 Pin Diner, aka Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, aka West Lane Bowl Café… one and all the same business. It’s the café inside the bowling alley. Confused? I had the 3 pc broasted chicken dinner tonight(breast, leg and wing $ 8) you can substitute a breast for the leg and/or wing for an additional $ 1 each. It came with two sides. I chose broasted potato wedges and house made mac salad. The mac salad was ok but the potato wedges were very good… hot and fluffy inside and a bit of a crunch on the outside. The chicken was just ok… a bit overcooked. One piece was juicy and the other two were pretty dried out. I would suggest not cooking them quite as long. I enjoyed chatting with my server. A very sweet lady. I believe she has been there for years. They serve breakfast ALLDAY! My kind of place since I sleep in and miss the breakfast hours at most ‘normal’ places. I look forward to having breakfast there some evening soon! I will be back. If I order the chicken I will ask to have it cooked a bit less. It’s kind of fun to watch the bowlers and there is also a big screen tv for your enjoyment. *********************************************** THISORIGINALREVIEWFROM A YEARAGOWASPOSTEDONTHE WESTLANEBOWL UnilocalPAGEALONGWITH12OTHER UnilocalREVIEWSFORTHECAFE. WHAT A MESS… I was pretty excited when I learned that WL Bowl Restaurant was a franchisee of the original Broasted Chicken. I have been a fan of the chicken for a long time… going way back when the original Manny’s restaurants offered it. In our area I have found ‘close’ tasting chicken at the Country Boys Drive-In on E. Fremont and at the Manny’s Drive-In on S. El Dorado. That Manny’s still uses the same method of cooking, I’m sure but I do not see the ‘official’ Broasted logo anywhere. Also, Woodbridge Pizza in Woodbridge and Lodi also cooks the true Broasted chicken. I was hoping for the best today… trying WL Bowl Restaurant for the first time… hoping that I found a new local source. But alas, it was not as good as the others. It looked good, but it was overcooked, a bit dried out and the white meat was tough and chewy. The Broasted potato wedges were very good as was the homemade macaroni salad. Was it was a one time cooking error? Maybe I will give them another try sometime in the future. Other that that, the restaurant is a great asset for the bowling alley. They had the general small café offerings including breakfast and the prices seemed quite reasonable. If I was a bowler, I certainly would adjust my eating schedule so I could dine here. I have to say something about the two awesome servers that waited on me. Really lovely ladies… both had worked there around THIRTYYEARS! Now what does that say about a business? If you are bowling or in the area and hungry, give ‘em a try! Broasted Chicken menu: It takes 20 to 25 minutes to prepare the chicken so if you are in a hurry, phone your order in.
