Days Inn Stillwater

Easily the biggest POS /​most underwhelming property I have stayed in for over 30 years. If this is the only hotel available next time I will just sleep in the car. Room was dated (I would say 1974), musty smell trying to cover up smoke in the «non smoking room». Binder for «Guest Information Directory» was empty, desk was sticky, window would not open.

Okay, long story short, but due to last minute game time changes, and possible weather changes, several rooms were booked here when we were in town to see an OSU game. All the other places around were either sold out, or we *could* have stayed at the La Quinta across the street for $ 250, instead of here for about $ 70. Needless to say, we gambled, and it paid off.
Of the four rooms we had, one person mentioned a stray hair and a roach. All other rooms were fine. My room was old and worn, but it appeared pretty clean. Bathroom a little scratched up here and there, but everything worked fine. Wall heater worked TOO good, took me a while to get the heat adjusted, but not a big deal for me.
I gave the bed a little cursory bed bug check because of the other reviews. Found no evidence of anything, bed looked clean and linens looked washed.
Worst thing was the frat boy invasion next door at 2 am, that took an hour or so for them to pass out, other than that, I have no complaints. If you’re looking for something cheap, at this time anyway, this place might be worth it for you, if you’re not picky and décor means less than saving a couple hundred bucks on a busy weekend.

I have been living out of hotels the past month or so and have traveled constantly the past 8 yrs for work. I must say this place was among, if not THE WORST I have ever bee to. Hair everywhere from bed to the shower that was covered in hair and other crap. One night my cards for the room stopped working 4 times only to find out it was the door. Shower knob broken and don’t think the towels were washed from previous occupants. Only good thing was the… wait NOTHING WAS GOOD!!!

2 words: BED BUGS!!! Don’t stay here unless you want to spend thousands of dollars getting bed bugs out of your home. Worst part is, I think the owners know about the problem and still haven’t done anything about it.
