Massive amounts of food, very reasonably, if not cheaply priced. Loved our dining experience here. We came on Christmas Eve, and must have ordered nine or more different things which included a variety of dim sum, chef specials and appetizers. Nothing brought to the table disappointed in the slightest. At this point in time I don’t really recall the specifics of everything we ordered. However, what I do remember very vividly was that everything tasted fresh, and unique. It didn’t have that traditional«Americanized» flavor to it — You know, salt and brown sauce. Each dish seemed uniquely seasoned, and with regards to the chicken, was large chunks of white meat. The staff was incredibly friendly, and checked frequently on us throughout our entire meal. Then again, since we always seemed to have some form of plate coming to the table, it was no surprise that they were always stopping by. Overall, not a bad experience at all. Would definitely like to come back to Golden King.

This was our second Chinese resturant in two days. Golden King was by far superior. We ordered dinner for two with delivery. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and General Tao Chicken, as well as some Hot & Sour Soup and some appetizers. The food came in about an hour, which is reasonable and was hot and freshly made. The entrée portions were large and well prepared, with large chunks of chicken. The soup was good and so were the appetizers. This is our new go to place for Chinese resturant delivery.

I have been here many times sometimes everything is good other times… I think it has lot to do with the staffing,

The food was not too bad. Just like every other general Chinese food place. I would go back. The service was good. Food was fresh off the stove so it was nice and hot when it arrived.

Golden King is a fantastic option for dim sum in Sterling. When we moved here from the Chicago area we were worried about finding a decent dim sum place and we’re so happy to have found this in our backyard. the staff is very nice and friendly they have all of the dishes you’d expect, and the atmosphere is very good and clean. I would highly recommend this for dim sum outside of the metro DC area.

Dim sum in Sterling — how did I not know about it! We have been driving all the way to Silver Spring ‘Oriental East’!! So happy to find this do close to our place. Food was really delicious — very flavorful. Best part was the service — an Asian place with smiling friendly folks. Even the server who did not speak English shouted out to the other servers when she could help us with the dish name — I loved the service. Considering I don’t have to drive far and the folks are so friendly with some awesome food — I have found my dim Sum spot — yes!

My boyfriend and I came for the Dim Sum here since we didn’t want to make the trek to Falls Church. The dim sum itself was quite satisfying but the service was no good. Most of the waiters did not speak any English so it was really hard telling them what we wanted. They didn’t have much available so we had to wait for a lot of things. I asked for the crab claw ball and the shrimp crêpe but those never came out. Very terrible service as there wasn’t really a server designated to our table to take care of us. We had to just grab whoever was walking by to ask for stuff. And it wasn’t even that busy! We’ll probably rather make the trek to Falls Church next time

I have eaten at many, many chinese restaurants and take outs. Golden King is by far the best tasting Chinese food, I have eaten. For you folks who are looking for an Americanese food, please stick to your PF Chang and Panda Express. Golden King is real authentic Chinese food. The restaurant is clean and the food is very fresh. When you go to the restaurant, you should see the place filled with Chinese people eating away. Also, on Saturday and Sundays, starting at 11:00AM, they have the best Dim Sum you can get. They have a very good Roast duck and a large sellection of live seafood that you can order right out of the tank. It doesn’t get better than this unless you go to Hong Kong!

Attended a dinner with family after pre-arranged reservations and food order was placed weeks in advance. Food was average, but what made this a bad experience was the service which was one of the worst I have ever experienced. Can’t recommend this place for the terrible service attitude!

This is a terrible establishment and if you are thinking of having a large dinner party here, think again. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I made a reservation for 39 people which was 4 large tables about a month in advance. I called ahead and pre-ordered 7 dishes per table, knowing that would be enough food for my friends and family(this includes 8 kids). On the phone, I also mentioned the sign I saw on their door that said groups of 8 or more can receive a complimentary bottle of wine. The owner on the phone said we would receive 4 bottles — 1 for each table. On the day of the event, the tables were ready when we arrived. As soon as we sat down, a waitress came over and asked us if we wanted to order more food because she said 7 dishes was not enough for each table. I knew that we would have enough food because a lot of my friends and family do not eat a lot, so I said we were good. However, she continued to tell us that we needed to order more food. I continued to say no, but my parents felt pressured and eventually ordered essentially two more dishes per table. I think that it is pretty rude to pressure your customers into ordering more food than they need. We ended up with at least 6 large boxes of leftovers at the end of the night. After we started getting the food, I asked for the bottles of wine. The waitress said that we would not get any. I told her that when I preordered the food, the man said we would get complimentary wine. She proceeded to tell me that we had to spend $ 250 per table in order to get a free bottle of wine. I could not believe this was happening. The owner on the phone knew exactly what I ordered and I assume knew how much it cost, and he still agreed that we would get the wine. Also, no where in the sign on the door said there was a minimum spend of $ 250. I asked to talk to the manager/owner at this time and he walked out from the kitchen, right past us and to the front desk. He ignored us and told the waitress that we would not get any wine for free. What kind of business is this? Not only are the waitresses forceful and rude, the owner is a liar! I am never coming here ever again and I’d advise all Unilocalers to stay away.

I went to lunch here today. Excellent cashew chicken, and the mushrooms used were DELICIOUS, but too few! I ordered the pan fried dumplings and they didn’t come until after my food arrived. The dough was too thick, they weren’t crispy at the bottom like I prefer them. But the meat in them was substantial. Really good food and two bowls of rice so I was able to take one home. Really good food.

This is the best place to get good Cantonese food in Loudoun county. Staff is friendly, place is clean, food is yummy. What else do you need? Get the salt and pepper silver fish, snow pea leaf, Peking pork chops, and roast duck. You won’t be sorry

Chicken and Broccoli was actually really well done. It had just the right amount of sauce, and the rice was sold separately, which was nice. I wouldn’t recommend the white rice, as it was too glutenous and sticky and would recommend the fried rice which would pare nicely. The inside décor was what I would expect for a Chinese restaurant, and the people who worked there were friendly. The bathroom was somewhat dated and unclean though notwithstanding the food stood on its own. Are there better places to eat in the shopping center? Yes. But considering what it was it was worth the meal if you really want Chinese food.

Finally a dim sum place with good service! We go for dim sum brunch on the weekends and generally enjoy it. Their cantonese bbq is pretty v good — we’ve gotten the duck and the roast pig b4 and were not disappointed. While I usually get there around 11 – 11:30AM, there’s no wait. It does tend to fill up as you get closer to noon depending on the crowd, but I haven’t experienced the wait times like i have at Mark’s duck house in the past. This is my new dim sum go to place! Def will be back. Round tables are great for large crowds.

Went here with a couple of friends for dim sum on a Sunday afternoon. It was not crowded at all so that was a plus. Dim sum was usual fare except they did have char siu available. That was the best. The fried pork chop was cold and weird and the most expensive. Most everything else we tried was good to great but nothing too exciting or amazing. Service was pretty off. We ordered a drink for one person that arrived at the end of the meal despite asking 2 – 3 people. The carts never really made it around that much except the congee lady who was having a tough time offloading her wares. I saw duck on a cart when we walked in but that cart never moved so I thought better of it. We had to keep asking for things and then someone would say«ok» and run off and then never come back or just come back with something else for another table. I’d give this place 4 stars for food and 2 for service, maybe even 1.5.

Decent Cantonese-style Dim Sum in Sterling! I couldn’t believe it, but it is true! We went on a Monday, so we ordered off the dim sum menu. You just write in the number of servings you would like of each item. Good descriptions in English. The dim sum came out piping hot.(The push carts are used on Sat/Sun only). No complaints — almost as good as New York or Boston dim sum restaurants. They have the same Chinese tea cups that are used in authentic Chinese restaurants, too.

I brought my wife and kid there on a whim on our way to the Herndon festival. We didn’t have any expectations but were impressed with the relative cleanliness(for a Chinese dim sum restaurant) and friendly staff. We ordered pretty standard dim sum items and the food did not dissapoint — egg custard, congee or(lugaw for Filipinos), hagaw, chicken feet, eggplant with shrimp toast, leek dumpling, fried taro root, and shumai… Our total was 32 dollars before tip. We will definitely come back! I look forward to trying the fried spicy pork chops, some of the casserole dishes, and maybe Peking duck…

Last night the hubby and I ordered carryout. We ordered egg drop and wonton soup, pork buns, eggrolls Shrimp with Crispy Walnuts. The main course was good. The shrimp was plump and flavorful. I love pork buns. The filling was very good but the wrapping was doughy, bland. The egg rolls dripped with grease and my wonton soup tasted like old cold dishwater. I was disappointed because I had gotten favorable reviews from a friend and also because not many places in the ‘burbs have buns. My 2 star review comes because at least the shrimp dish was OK. I’ll be watching for future reviews to see if GOLDENKING warrants a return visit.

I think the lower marks are based on a misunderstanding. For those looking for delivery, kung pao, General Tso, lo mein, Szechuan, Hunan, etc., this is probably not the place for you. This is a Cantonese restaurant. Cantonese food is southern Chinese, the foods mentioned above are American Chinese or Northern Chinese, so giving Golden King low marks based on a cuisine that their chefs don’t naturally know is not really fair. It’s like giving an Italian restaurant a poor rating for their French Onion soup except the distances between Southern China and Northern is much further(and the Italian restaurant would hopefully not put a French item on their menu unlike Chinese restaurants which put all kids of random things on their menus — crab rangoon, sushi, etc). Go to this restaurant for good won ton mein, congee, duck noodle soup, and of course dim sum. It isn’t the world’s greatest Cantonese restaurant, but it is a very good Cantonese representative in the area. The service is pretty typical Cantonese too. Just raise your hand and someone will come. If you’re shy, you may be on your own.
