Tash is a great hostess; she ran around like crazy getting our orders. Was super happy to order our first ever gluten free naan which tasted fantastic and went great with the curries. If you have room for dessert, definitely try the chili-infused chocolate cake.

Let me start of by saying this review by saying, I am not a fan of curry; Never have been. So for me to give this place a 5 star rating is seriously saying something. This past weekend when my sister and dad wanted to take me to a ‘Curry Haus’, I was less than thrilled. To my(and my family’s) shock, I ended up loving the food. Between four people we split three gluten free garlic naans, the Saag with chicken, the Thai Green with chicken and the Tikka Masala with beef and all left stuffed. The curries are served in a medium sized bowl and comes with a heaping of rice — I would have taken a picture but they we’re all gone before I got the chance! While everything was delicious, the Thai Green was my absolute favorite — It was so creamy and had a bit of a heat. I would definitely recommend it for people who, like me, are afraid of curry. This restaurant is the most random place I’ve ever been to and I mean that in the best possible way. Let me explain — It’s a Curry ‘Haus’ on the outskirts of a tiny mountain town, owned and run by a couple from Australia and New Zealand, with rugby on the TV24⁄7 that plays country music. SORANDOM but I loved every minute. If all of that isn’t enough, you have to go try this place simply to meet the owners. The couple who run it are the friendliest, most accommodating people and they have wonderfully awesome servers. This is a can’t miss place when you’re in Steamboat.

Had such a blast visiting Red Bowl a few weekends ago on my trip to Steamboat! First of all, as soon as you walk in, you feel incredibly welcomed. The host and owner, Julian, is awesome, as is the wait staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful. In addition to great service and a cozy vibe, the food was delicious! And perfect for warming up after a cold day on the mountain. Loved the fried onion appetizer as well as the delicious cheesey-garlic naan! Would highly recommend this family-friendly, local spot for a fun and comfortable dinner after hitting the slopes.

Loved it! The guy who greets you is hilarious. The witness location story was too funny. Chicken vindaloo, stir fried veggies, naan with adult beverages. It’s snowing and I’m warm. Great experience.

Just ate at Red Bowl for the second time with our son after a great day on the mountain. The food is flavorful and spot on amazing. I recommend the raita side if you need to cool the spice a bit. We had chicken korma, the Gondwana and Rendang(sp?), all were fantastic, each with its own special flavor. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the variations and recommended combining two which worked well. We also had a side of garlic cheese naan. Needless to say we’re stuffed but it was a great reward meal after a long day on the slopes. Highly recommend. The owner is a super guy, very friendly and welcoming! Can’t wait to visit again!

If I could give this place 4.5 stars I would! My girlfriend and I visited this place on one of our yearly visits to Steamboat. We wanted something different from the common American fare and were very pleased with this place. We got the Veggie Gondwana and Chicken Tikka Masala. Although this is not a traditional presentation of the meal, it is a great chef’s take on the dish providing a slightly lighter, tasty version. We were both very happy with our meals. The naan bread did the trick but was the least special of our meal. We also tried the chai tea nut/date cake dessert and found it decently good. Their selection of beer is great and the ambiance is nice for a date night on the town or group gathering. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and we’ll surely be back for more!

I have some specific dietary restrictions and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The chef came to our table to discuss the ingredients in each dish and make modifications so I could enjoy a delicious dinner! I had the mixed veggies with fish and she made zucchini noodles(which are not currently on the menu but they are considering it) instead of serving it on rice. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection with a light ginger sauce. We had some tasty sauvignon blanc from New Zealand and tried both deserts. The chilled chai cashew cake was a tasty treat but the chilli chocolate flourless cake was the favorite. If you are gluten free, nut free, vegetarian or have any other dietary restrictions I highly recommend checking out the Red Bowl for super great service and delicious food!

Julian is a great host, and makes sure that all his guests feel welcome. We loved the curry, and it’s a great option for vegetarians. The bottle of wine we got was super reasonable.

Everything was exceptional — the food, service, and atmosphere. Not pretentious, friendliest owners ever — so much that it feels like you are dining in a friend’s home. GF and celiac-friendly…do not miss this gem! GF Naan and curries are exceptional!

This is a delightful, unpretentious spot for a tasty curry and a nice bottle of wine or glass of beer. The menu is not complicated; a variety of well-described curries with accurate spiciness descriptions. Add your preferred protein(including fish for the pescetarians and chickpeas for the vegetarians). Lots of options for people with gluten issues. Very friendly owner and staff.

Delicious and tons of gluten-free options. I was super-excited to see gluten-free naan!!! But then found out it’s made with almond milk and I have a nut allergy, so my hopes and dreams were crushed. Besides that, the food was delicious, the servings are big, and the owners(from Australia and New Zealand, I think) were amazingly friendly.

So amazing!!! The food was so good! They were under staffed and still brought everything out in a quickly manor. Service was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Highly recommended!!!

Yummy! GF hubbie wanted to try this place as other GF people had given it good reviews. It was very good. We started with the onion bhaji and it was excellent. 5 pieces were GF and delish! Then we ordered a GF garlic nan which was just ok but I tend not to expect much from GF bread — hubbie liked it though so that’s what counts. I ordered the coconut pumpkin curry with chicken it was very good, a little spicy but I could deal with it. Hubbie had matahari yellow curry dish with chicken it was very good but too spicy for me, he really liked it. We did not like the cashew pie, but that’s ok, we didn’t have much room for dessert anyway! Would definitely go back. Excellent service and authentic curry!

I’m still feeling all warm inside from our wonderful dinner last night. The entire experience was welcoming and delicious! Red Bowl is an unassuming little place in downtown Steamboat. The owner and staff greeted warmly and despite how busy the place was made us feel like we were special guests. The Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer was a new find for me. Refreshing and crisp and a perfect accompaniment to our meal. We started with the Mini Pappadums and Chutney. Lightly crisp and fresh with perfectly spicy chutney. We indulged on the garlic and cheese naan which was hot and fresh. It is also great with the chutney! We shared the vegetarian Korma and the Thai green curry. Both were the perfect balance of flavor and heat. We stuffed ourselves and did not leave any room for desert. The Chili Chocolate flourless cake is waiting in our condos mini fridge for a treat later today.

Big fan of this place. We come here every time we visit Steamboat. The curries are all fantastic. Rich in flavor, savory, spicy and satisfying. And while the food is great, I have to say, the family that owns this place are my favorite. They’re hilarious and charming. The 5th star is missing for the naan bread, as it is a little heavy, but I blame that on the elevation. Definitely give it a try if you’re tired of pizza, burgers, and other après cuisine.

Exceptional flavor for the curry, but not a particularly good value. It was a bit pricey, even for Steamboat Springs.
