Steak ‘n Shake

Ordered the grilled chicken salad with only cheese and chicken. The chicken tasted freezer burnt and smelled old, so I moved it off and was just going to eat the lettuce and cheese. After the first bite, I realized it was the cheese. I smelled and it was horrible. It smelled like it was molded and definitely not fresh. Told the server, she took it away and brought it back with the chicken placed back on top and told me the kitchen said the cheese was not old and tried to give it back. I insisted for her to keep it.

So I’ve been to multiple Steak n’ Shakes. This is by far the worst one I’ve been to. The service was slow, there was something floating in my water, all the food we received was cold, and all of the food was disappointing. I like Steak N’ Shake, but this one was a disappointment.

The service hasn’t been that great recently. This place used to be great about their food and service, but who knows what happened. The red velvet milkshake was poor. Plus the bathroom was unclean. i recommend cookout because it the greatest.

Been to this restaurant twice… it can’t hold a candle to Steak and Shakes I’ve been to elsewhere… both in Georgia and in other states… Very cramped… very noisy.
Food portions smaller… and milkshakes seem to have shrunk as well… better aces for the money and better places for having a good time.

First off… wifey and i love Steak n Shake. BUT… we tried this one and the service was horrid. We ordered our food and shakes, waited and got our shakes short after. 30 minutes later we asked where our food was and it was promptly brought with an apology… and it was cold. The waitress said she’d thought another brought it to us already… ok, so wifey and I went back 3 weeks later (this past week) and (yay) we got a different waiter. (Not yay…) This fool was worse. Not only was our food cold, (at least the shake wasn’t warm) but after sending back one item that was ordered, it still wasn’t right. sent back again… nope still wrong. We gave up and didn’t mention the rest of what he’d gotten wrong so we could get outta there. Anyhow, no tip from us. We didn’t even get any compension for the multiple «mishaps» after talking with the manager… anyways. We will go back to steak n shake, but we’ll never go back to this one again… even if it is under a mile from our house… Hope this helps you avoid this place… I would. Good luck.

I love this place! The servers are always so nice & accomodating. My son is 3, and Steak n Shake is one of his favorite places to go eat. He is normally shy & reserved, but the staff at Steak n Shake make him feel right at home! The shakes are awesome — the oreo shake is my fav!

First, I love the Steakburger, in whatever variation it comes in. On food and shakes this place is AAAAAA+.
Service here can be hit or miss. It’s always polite, but on occasion, can be a bit slow. Especially when you eat inside, shakes can take a long time. Drive through gets priority. And it can be a hassle getting or paying a check. But minor minor stuff. I bring my kids here all the time and love them.

Okay let me start by it’s the worst service ever I ordered a milkshake from there and I saw the guy that was making it and he stuck his nose down in it in a word I’m never going back there like ever again

I have been to this Steak and Shake several times since it opened and have found it to better than most other Steak and Shakes in other towns. Keep in mind it’s a college town with college student employees. It would be just about impossible to be perfect 100% of the time.
It’s always clean. Food has always been fresh. No major issues anytime I have been here. Management always seems to be attentive and trying to keep everything running smoothly.
This most recent visit was perfect. Good waiter. Hot burger made EXACTLY as asked. Shake was delicious. Fries were as hot as you could ever get at a Steak and Shake.

Waited almost 30 minutes to finally be told they were out of cooked noodles. Since we were in a hurry we said we would need to leave. At that point they brought the shakes and asked what had been brought so we could pay. At no time did anyone say sorry or even offer to comp the two cokes or three child sized shakes.

I’ve been to this Steak n Shake a total of four times.
The first time I used a coupon, which the manager had to manually code in (I think I was charged more than the coupon was, but whatever) and the hamburgers did not come dressed as ordered, I had to return to the store and wait for the hamburger to be remade.
The second time, I received the completely wrong order, and while waiting to pay had to experience one of the employees being disciplined for not earning enough points while waiting to pay them.
The third time was alright, this was after multiple guarantees that the store had new manager and changed.
The fourth time I ordered a horseradish hamburger and it didn’t have the bacon or fried onions on it, in the 95 degree heat I had to go inside, then head back to the car to get the receipt, then return to the store. At which point the manager (who had to look up what came on the burger) told me to take a seat while they fixed it, then a waitress told me to move, at that point the time vs. reward factor was too much and I just left.
The is usually a long line of cars around the building, but it’s not because of the large amount of traffic the place gets, but because the drive-​thru line takes forever and service is slow, even if it’s «good food fast.» There is no difference in food preparation between them and Wendy’s, but Wendy’s will usually get your food out fast and right.

Good service and the food was delicious! We ordered the jalapeño burger, portabella burger and oktorberfest burger. The milkshakes were thick and rich. This is a dangerous place to my waistline!

Service was very poor. Took a long time to get seated. Tables available but were not being cleaned.
Ordered my meal and got the hamburger in a reasonable amount of time. Ordered a milk shake and did not come with meal. About half way through asked about it and they were «to busy». Finished meal and 10 minutes later still had not gotten the rest of my order.
Had it removed and left. Management is doing a poor job of management.
