Emma’s was a big disappointment. Food was good, but deplorable service and mistakes in charges. They are missing a golden opportunity. On a Sunday morning, there is a dearth of good breakfast places in Statesboro — RJs is closed for breakfast, Cracker Barrel was packed with travelers for the football game, and other breakfast options in town are poor. With improved service, Emma’s could be a town favorite. That’s really all it would take. The location is good, the food is good, the environment is pleasant, but service is really really bad. This is due to a simple under-staffing mistake. Step it up Emma’s management. We need better choices in Statesboro, and with a larger staff and better management, Emma’s could be a town favorite.

Emma’s is hidden in the Holiday Inn, but don’t be fooled by its location. It is a great place for dinner. I would recommend the tuna tartare for an appetizer. I’ve had it all three times I’ve gone to Emma’s and it was spot on every time. It is paired with thick wonton chips and plated with artistic dashes of wasabi and srirachi sauces to give it that extra kick. I also had the grilled flank steak on my last trip, which was cooked perfectly and came on a bed of grilled corn. So good! The service is not always stellar; at times our group had to entertain ourselves or go thirsty waiting for a refill. My first trip, however, the service was excellent. I think it depends on the server and his/her level of experience. I’ve had okay/so-so service 2 out of 3 trips.

Statesboro’s best kept secret for lunch Mon-Fri… Best little buffet I’ve ever seen which includes their famous Clam chowder everyday… 3 soups and a different pair of entrees daily. Fried chicken and shrimp & Grits on Friday. Salad bar is great and includes tuna and chicken salad(like mama used to make). Always half dozen homemade desserts that are absolutely delicious. Check their website for daily offerings. Service is great as is price. My go-to place when I’m in the ‘boro.

Poor service, poor food quality. Arrived and sat at 7:45PM and our party’s food did not arrive until 10PM. We hoped that by the time it had arrived, it would be fantastic and maintained optimistic attitudes; unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. All of our food had clearly sat under the warmers for far too long thus causing the meat to be dry and overcooked on many people’s dishes. Had one server to twenty people, so drinks took far too long to arrive as well. Emma’s had an opportunity to ring a very large ticket with our party and missed out due to inattentiveness. Do not go here!

We had supper at Emma’s tonight and the food was phenomenal! Chef White may be young but he is truly inspired! His grilled cream corn is out of this world! The rib eye and grilled Brussels sprouts were equally good. Thank you to Vance for the excellent service! The whole experience was wonderful!

I am conservative with my stars but Emma’s gets 4 from me because this is about the best dining Statesboro has to offer besides the private Country Club. The owner and chef is very good and the staff always tries very hard to please. The tuna tartare is always excellent and I get it every time. The duck is always fantastic and so is the shrimp and grits.
