I rarely give five stars. The reason for giving it such a higher marks is the service and attitude of the staff. They are extremely nice. This is a great place to come on a weekend or after a day of work and just relax. The place has a great family feel. The food is typical for the dinner. Prices are below IHOP’s and the wait time is significantly shorter.

Excellent country fried steak that came with two sides. Their desserts are also excellent and they have some of the best pies I have ever tasted. Their peanut butter silk and their chocolate french silk are out of this world! Everything I have ever gotten from Perkins has tasted wonderful. I’m also a big fan of their triple decker turkey club.

Wow, what happened??! Haven’t been here in a long time, mainly for breakfast but back in the high school /​early college days we’d go here late at night & when it was 24 hours, an easy 15 — 17 years ago.
Stopped in here after a movie with my friend & it was so bad. We ordered one entrée each, that’s it. It came out rather quick but it wasn’t even hot, barely warm like they were sitting around, maybe reheated. Asked for it cooked medium & it was medium well. Didn’t even finish my meal I was that disgusted.
Sorry Perkins, but I won’t be going back here. How are they even still open with a diner on every other corner in Staten Island?

I visit Perkins almost once every 2 weeks have yet to find a problem with this restaurant. Their food is very tasty with a range of options. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The staff is more than willing to change anything that you are not happy with. The prices are very reasonable. Everything from this place is wonderful

The only thing that’s good here is the staff. This place has changed for the worse over many years now. The kitchen is helpless because they serve the products they are told to use which are all low quality food products. The food has little taste to it. The coffee isn’t coffee in my personal opinion. Just because it smells and looks like coffee doesn’t make it so. The so called fruit they give you either on side plates or by request is yet another thing that has no taste to it.
My advice is simple, stay home. Even if you don’t know how to cook, I’ll bet you anything that you could make better food on your own stove. Where as if you don’t care and simply want to shovel tasteless calories into your body until you can’t fit through a door then look no further, you’ve reached heaven, this is your dream spot.
Food is simply disgusting. Corporate diners… Ha.

Can’t say I’m a huge fan. The food is ok, standard type diner fare, but you can get much better diner food at nearly any other spot on the Island.
Doesn’t seem to be the cleanest place. The last few times I’ve been there, my table hadn’t been sufficiently cleaned off from he last group of people. Like, there was still syrup sticking my napkin to the table. Wasn’t too thrilled with that.
Service, though, I cannot complain about. Friendly and quick every single time.

I visit this Perkins at least once a month. The food is good/​average, the atmosphere is homely, and the servers are super friendly. There have been a couple of instances where my breakfast has come out cold, or I had to get a new pair of utensils since mine weren’t that clean. Other than that, I’ve always walked out satisfied with the food and customer service.

This place is very dirty.
How could they not see something broke near the mix. Hello. are they cooking or sleeping…
My husband and I were horrified.. I could have cut my mouth. Tounge. Or even died.
My meal was comp but the truth is it was my second bit and i was never going to pay for that away.
The owner never called me.
This place is so dirty
It would not have cost the cook any thing if he was safe and threw that mix out and made it new…

I’m not sure why the rating is so low, I’ve never had a real problem here with service or food. The breakfast is always good, lunch or dinner is decent depending on what you order. Got onion rings once and they were breaded on the outside and had a ton of white powder inside. So I complained and still had to pay for it. That being said, no other issues. Good salad, never really crowded anymore. Décor hasn’t changed since 90s b

Horrible experience. I should’ve known better than to get something outside of the chicken melt. Ordered a steak dish and asked for it medium rare and it was raw, not rare but RAW! So disappointing. Then waited for a new dish and of course it came out over cooked. I knew it because if u don’t know how to cool meat the right way the first time why should I expect to be right the second time.

First of all this place is plain dirty. When you first walk in and happen to sit on their bench in the waiting game area you will see that it is encased in slime and crude.
The filth doesn’t stop there. The water they served me contained what looked like (and may have actually been) a booger with a hair in it. When I told the waitress she chuckled and pretty much did nothing else.
The actual food was as bad as the unclean environment. I ordered the fried chicken on biscuit platter and what I got was a half chicken tender on a large gross «biscuit» This place was utterly horrendous in every possible way.
Stay far far away from this dump?!

Typical family restaurant diner. Food is mediocre.
Service however, impeccable. The host always remember me and seats me where I prefer to be seated. All the servers are extremely nice and remembers your face. I always love going back to a place and they remember you and what you like to drink. Definitely deserving of this 4 stars despite their food and appearance.

My 6 year old daughter loves this place. While the food does taste good, it goes right through me and I’m running kt the bathroom the minute I walk in my door.
I prefer the breakfast here, not such a fan of the lunch and dinner food.

I had a good waiter here on a weekend where it was very packed. Overall, the restaurant is clean. I’d say come here for Breakfast where you can expect a full platter of food that will really fill you up, and come here for their dessert which is awesome.

I recently had pumpkin pancakes & they were so good! I’ve had their eggs, chicken sandwiches, etc and everything has been good. Coffee is always good. Staff is friendly & can get crowded. Parking can be a little hectic, but a spot always appears eventually.

I’ve only ever gone to Perkins for Breakfast and late night (another after party spot late night and god bless the servers who put up with us drunk fools)
Breakfastwise, I love their pancakes and/​or waffles. With bacon/​sausage and you can’t go wrong. They have sweet omelets too but I’m not a fan of eating eggs so I stick with pancakes.
Late night/​late breakfast-​lunchish: I got 3 words for ya so listen up: Chicken. Tender. Melt. (Get that with extra honey mustard on the side. You’re welcome.

Perkins regularly updates their menu & often includes the customers in the process. Once you join their online club, you frequently receive coupons as well as occasional surveys regarding new menu items. This is a company that values & listens to their ‘guests’. The food is a good value for the price — nice breaks offered for the over 55 crowd. The Monday-​Friday breakfast & lunch shifts are staffed by pleasant & efficient servers who really do try to please the customer. The parking lot is huge & the location is convenient — just off Richmond Avenue.

Wow I’m not sure why this restaurant got so many bad reviews. I’ve been there frequently lately and I haven’t had a bad experience!
I’ve been there twice in the last week, both early in the morning, just as soon as they opened. The early breakfast specials are amazing. For $ 5, I can get a whole platter of food and a pot of coffee. The first time I got there, the waitress was awesome. She was perky and energetic, a perfect greeting for so early in the morning. She was very attentive and made sure everything was okay. The food was perfectly cooked, the coffee was freshly brewed.
The second time there, I ordered the same thing off the menu. The food was just as good, as was the coffee. But this time, the waitress wasn’t as good. She was quite rude, but still offered good service, so it didn’t affect anything.
The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The desserts are delicious and decently priced. Perkins is like IHOP, except cheaper and with better food.
